@TheArt Sammy is more interested in GoW ”eating Fable’s lunch” than having both games sell well.. That he even asked you why you thought Sony should have chosen another month/date for GoW says quite a lot. I think the rest of us completely understood what you meant.
But, sadly(!), on this site the fanboyism (in its most negative meaning) runs rampant among certain staff. A real shame to be honest, considering the site is great in all other aspects (mostly).
@Old-Red
” I think it should also be pointed out that Sony has included PS+ downloads in the stats being using to bash physical sales. Proper scummy”
Wtf. Is this true? If so, that is ***** horrible. They can’t count ”free” digital downloads for ***** sake. I mean, even someone who only purchase physical games, and pays for PS Plus, would download the games they like on the service.
I haven’t looked into this, but if it’s true, this is worthy of an article (or 10).
I agree. It’s embarrassingly obvious it’s the same old Sammy fan-hating going on.
I mean, I fully expect commenters spewing ”facts” about official statements, but when the editor himself does the same… And therefor just puts gasoline on the flames, it’s bad.
Its sites and editors/authors like these that creates toxic fanbases.
I won’t matter how many times ID puts out statements, or how great games they’ll make. These people will still say it is fake or whatever.
@ButteredCrumpet
You’re both correct.
A disc doesn’t guarantee ownership these days, as it did in the ”beginning”.
But… It can still be sold, collected and increase value and a bunch of other things.
I don’t hate digital, but I hate consoles having one single store with exorbitant prices and basically ultra crap refund policies. Sure, this massive ***** storm might force Sony into seriously bettering their store, lower their prices and put up better refund policies (I doubt it though). But do you think any of that would have happened if the ***** didn’t hit the fan? (I doubt that even more).
I hate what Sony’s become, truly. Hell, I prefer Microsoft’s yappering, they at least ***** say something. Sony has become so anti consumer it’s baffling! They have ridden their high horse for too long and taken fans for granted.
Personally I buy physical/digital around 50/50 (perhaps 60/40 with more being physical). I love being able to sell single player games after I’ve completed them, making a hefty buck back. I also have several unopened older games (PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii U and so on) that are worth a lot more these days. And these are games I bought at release (well, at least a bunch of them).
I’ve known for a long time that the days of physical are threatened, but I didn’t foresee Sony dropping this bomb this soon.
If they don’t drastically improve their store, and match at least the PC store prices and refunds, I’ll go full PC. I might anyway. On PC I at least have a free market, several stores, cheaper prices and I don’t have to pay to play online.
” They can because there is a unique code tied to each Xbox game but then again wouldn’t people just trade the games in then. What if you bought a used game in the future and it said it was already linked to an account when digitizing?”
You need to read the whole article. The rumor is that as soon as someone else puts the disc into their Series X, the previous owner will lose their license. It has to be like that, obviously. Otherwise people would buy a game, get the digital license then sell the game, rinse and repeat.
So, online will obviously also be required when first doing this.
Either way, I think it’s a fantastic idea all around, I hope Sony follows suit.
What? You do realize Microsoft historically work towards enterprise right? A huge part of their business is enterprise. Your link shows nothing wrong, they have to to be able to compete with competitors. We/you may not like it, but AI isn’t going anywhere.
Yeah, I really liked/like Phil as well. I also think he got a lot of pressure from ”above” around certain things. Plus, he had to take over after the disaster that was the Xbox One launch.. But yeah, obviously ***** hasn’t worked out the way it should have. And they got too big, too fast.
I still hope they turn it around though. We need more competition. And I really think going the PC-route is the way forward for the living room. What Sony is doing is giving me more and more of a bad taste. PC is inherently more open source and open market. Several stores, much more freedom, cheaper games and a lot less locked down, and ”exclusive games” barely exist.
I highly recommend Laura Fryer's video on the background of this situation. She touches on the issue of the 'freedom trap.' Her premise is that Xbox has given its acquired studios far too much creative freedom. My interpretation is that Xbox has been characterized by a kind of laissez-faire (ok, sure!)-leadership (widely considered the worst management style of all, even worse than destructive leadership). The result has been creative projects that appeal to few, if anyone. Large, drawn-out projects that cost a fortune but yield very little return on investment. There has been a bit of a 'daddy's money' mentality to it all.
In a clip featured in Fryer's video, then-Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty can be heard saying that he wants to make as few changes as possible, and that the studios should remain exactly as they are. That message undeniably got through. The most recent output from Double Fine consisted of obscure niche games, such as a walking lighthouse in Keeper (great game though!) and the pottery game Kiln, titles that barely anyone has played.
Reportedly, Keeper needed to sell over 600,000 copies just to break even on development costs. It sold 19,000. The gap between financial necessity and actual results is striking. Almost shocking, even.
Sharma writes:
"Teams, studios, and functions often operate independently, and it became harder to work towards a shared goal, make the right tradeoffs, and get things done."
This is part of the core problem, and it explains how game projects like Everwild and Perfect Dark have been able to drag on for years without yielding any results. In other words, there is a need to clean house, streamline operations, establish clarity, and build a culture of accountability. What Sharma is doing now should have been done perhaps five years ago. She is clearly sharp.
I’m positive that the studios have been having tons of money, freedom (and a great time) and so on, but some studios obviously needed more direction and hands-on. And ultimately this is Microsoft’s fault. It didn’t go as planned, obviously. But at least they are transparent about it. Unlike some other mega corpos.
Huge difference. Nintendo isn’t doing ”code in the box”. Some Switch 2 games are on game key cards. They look like regular switch 2 cards, but they don’t contain the game, just a chip which gives you access to download said game. The difference is that this game key card can still be sold or lent out! So a HUGE difference compared to a one-time Code in a box..
But, hopefully Sony does at least something similar. But I have my doubts, since they want all the money, preferably from their own digital store, where they can charge a premium plus take a 30% cut on all third party games.
And yes, this is how it works on PC. But on PC we have a free market and several stores. All of them are cheaper than the console makers’ stores… And no subscription on PC just to be able to play online.
Yeah. Sadly many people don’t think that far. They’re ”fine” with paying a premium from a single store, paying for a license to use the game. A license that can be revoked for several reasons.
If more stores were available on PS5 and Switch 2 for example, and with lower prices (like on PC) and better refund possibilities (and more) than this would not be an issue for me.
I respect that you think this is ok (ie: end of physical on PlayStation), I just don’t, I don’t have faith Sony can solve half of the issues i have with it. But people voicing their concerns is the only way they will. And doing that in a calmly matter (most are calm though) doesn’t work against a mega corporation. Public outcry is what gets mega corpos to change.
” I don't understand how you can go to the bother of quoting my post and then act like it stated a single store was the way forward? At no point did I suggest or imply that at all?
I'd welcome changes to the PS store to start matching some of what Steam does, my own steam account is over 16 years old.
I'm certainly not blaming peoples frustration on hate. But I AM blaming peoples inability to have reasonable discourse and actually discuss issues on their desire to spew some hate onto the screen ASAP. The fact that you just completely misrepresented my words is prime example of how people are barely thinking ATM.
Whilst I don't side with those who wish for physical to live for ever, I do sympathise with those as upset as you are and I would hope that change could be achieved with DRM, refunds and lots of other things which have always needed improvement. But these wont come if people are unable to have discussions and come up with a unified set of ideas that can be messaged to Sony.
Stamping your feet and shouting loudly is not the way to achieve this in my opinion, and the site posting as many articles as it can with such an obvious agenda is not helping.
I hope we get some long overdue changes to the way the store works, but I'm not holding my breath. I hope you have a better day.”
————
No, you didn’t state a single store is the way forward. But you basically did. You do understand, I hope, that there will never be several stores on a PlayStation or Nintendo console as long as they keep going the ”pure console” path, right? That is a sure fire way of them ”losing” money. They want one store, their own store, where they can make all the money (and 30% profit from all third party sales). And I do not agree that people not acting upset would somehow change that? If anything, people acting upset and making their voices heard is the only way to make changes (unlikely, but it’s still the only way). Keeping quiet and basically saying; ”good, who wants those plastic bits of physical media anyway” is exactly what they want.
And I don’t agree that people are spewing hate, I know I’m not. But people are obviously upset (rightly so). And I’m having a great day, thank you very much. I’m not having sleepless nights over this 😂. I just think it sucks, big time. And, call me a dinosaur (I turn 46 in December) but I do NOT want physical media to go away. Even though I understand that that’s where we’ll end up. I also buy quite a lot of digital games (on all platforms, 100% on PC, obviously). But I do buy a lot of physical games for my consoles (so I can sell them after I’m done with them, plus it’s cheaper — Especially if bought second hand).
I’m totally OK with digital only on PC, where we have more stores and ways to buy games (plus it’s always cheaper compared to the console platform holders’ stores), and Sony has to change a LOT on their own store if they want to go this way. Refunds, UI, etc. But it still won’t matter much, ’cause it’ll be the only store you can buy PlayStation games from, which will suck.
If MS release a console/PC (basically a PC) it’ll solve these issues at least (probably will still be digital only though..). But Sony is even worse than Nintendo now (well, soon). Remember everyone screaming about Nintendo’s Game Key Cards? Those look like diamonds now, ’cause those can still be resold and loaned out.
Yeah. Discs can always be gotten cheaper physical though, always (in most countries at least). And, they can be bought second hand even cheaper. And their prices drop faster in stores.
Going digital with only one, very expensive, store is horrible.
Like I’ve said several times, on PC there are at least a free market and several stores. All of them are cheaper than the console stores. And all of them (especially Steam) are overall better experiences. And they all have better refund policies. The list goes on..
” Clearly we just keep making more stories about it to drive engagement and get the faithful all rilled up again? Nothing has changed for me at all, I'm delighted that they have finally announced their plans to ditch plastic download tickets. I hope whenever some sensible conversations are encouraged again, we can get to talk about ideas for game preservation, changes to the store etc, but till then I guess its just time to cash in on the hate vibe.”
Oh my god.. Yeah, because ONE single store for PlayStation Gamers, where Sony dictates everything, is the right way to go??
The huge ultra difference between PC and consoles, is that on PC there is competition and a free market. There are several stores, and each and every one of them are cheaper than the PlayStation(console) stores. They are all better as well, and Steam is leagues ahead in every department.
One of my favorite things about consoles is the ability to buy physical games, so I can either collect, or sell them later and gain money back. Nintendo at least gave us a chance to resell the games (kudos!).
Nah. You can blame it on ”hating” all you want. I’ve been gaming since the mid 80’s, and this isn’t hate, it’s Sony not being the Sony they used to be. ***** has to change at Sony.
” It’s such strange logic when people say “I don’t know what the big deal is — PC has been doing this for ages.” I mean, that’s part of the reason we use a PlayStation and not a PC! 😂”
Yeah, true! I agree completely.
BUT, what many seem to forget, is that on PC you don’t just have ONE very expensive store like on for example PlayStation (in which Sony has FULL control), on PC we have several stores and actual competition, and all of those stores are cheaper than the console stores.. It’s always cheaper to buy games digitally on PC than on Console.
And now, when console is going full digital, PC looks like an even better proposition (and no extra cost to play online…).
This is what Sony does, radio silence, just hoping it will cool down.
Yeah Microsoft is worse in several ways, but at least they comment on stuff like this for ***** sake, sometimes it gets worse, sometimes it helps. But at least we get some thought behind the decisions.
Sony’s become very ”Japanese” in the worst way (I love Japan!), kind of like Nintendo. And yeah, Microsoft is SO very American sometimes… But honestly (I’m Swedish) I prefer commentary and thoughts behind stuff like this, just… something. But… If Sony weren’t in such a good position in sales numbers, they would NOT be this silent. And that annoys me. It rubs me the wrong way.
Holy hell. This is such BS… PS5 Pro is my last Sony product, and I’ve been there from the start. PC all the way from now on.
What people that celebrate this don’t seem to understand is that on the consoles you have ONE store (with horrible prices), on PC you have several (and they’re all cheaper than the PlayStation store), and you don’t have to pay for online gaming.
I hate what Sony’s become; tightlipped, anticonsumer, chasing microtransactions and just straight up idiotic. Wtf…
I don’t buy physical only, mind you, but I buy at least 50/50 physical and digital. I can 100% of the time buy cheaper physical (I then resell it and get a, sometimes large, percentage back). With this decision we’ll get expensive games that Sony can revoke fast (and if you somehow get banned from your PS account the games becomes unavailable) and we will basically rent the games.
Second hand market dies completely (which is exactly what they want ofc!! They can then dictate the prices and do as they please).
This is bad on so many levels.
It was fun while it lasted.
I’m selling my PS5 Pro this month 😔
” Console games need to be exclusive to consoles. Period. This guy is an idiot who failed upward. Sony is full of them and they need to clean house to get things back on track.”. Sorry, but what a vile take.. More games for more people is always good. And Shawn’s right, mindshare. Get amazing exclusives in front of new players. I’m sure some of those Spider-Man or Ghost of Tsushima PC players bought a ps5 to get to play the sequels (or Horizon). And, you reach out into more people’s minds, great when tv shows like The Last of Us came out.
Sony probably panicked when they saw that PC Gaming grew the most, and when they found out Microsoft’s next console would also be a PC. And Valve are obviously all PC (Linux, but Sony’s games are playable on Linux). It feels like Sony’s become more old fashioned lately, in a bad way. And they’re also chasing the live service golden egg (that one is somewhat understandable, but I don’t like it).
” Pushsquare also regularly slams Playstation as well So... what's your point?”. Oh come on.. 😂 I know you’re not replying to me. But come ON. PushSquare slams Microsoft/Xbox 10 to 1, no, make that 20 to 1 compared to any PS-slammin’. And when it comes to MS articles PushSquare always pulls out the big guns (words) like ”outrageously” and a whole bunch of others. I mean, I could buy almost half of it. But PushSquare is the only gaming website that goes full on fanboy. Which feels somewhat unprofessional. And I’ve said that many times before. And it’s only gotten worse.
At the same time I love a lot about PushSquare as well, and appreciate all the hard work being put in. But yeah, I just wish it wasn’t so blatantly 90’s fanboyish sometimes.
Indeed. I’ve not seen an article about it either. But that indeed sucks. Weird that there’s no mention of any reimbursement or anything… Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence 👀
These screenshots are for the Deluxe/Ultimate pack/extras. If you go into the standard game, then the separate addon for the bonus clothes/tattoos etc etc , you’ll find those screenshots specifically. The cars, guns and clothes (with included poses) are for some of the extra stuff you’ll get in the more expensive edition. And yeah, they are most likely far from in game shots. I doubt they’re photo mode shots either. They use in game assets, juiced up.
Yeah. I also visit all the sites. And only PushSquare has a person in charge who oozes fanboy-vibes (in a bad way). Sammy has so many times bashed competitors in articles, and sometimes seems obsessed with it (I know I’m not the only one that has noticed this, and several of you know what I’m talking about). And the gloat he’s spewed in so many articles.
Look, I love my PS5 Pro, and I’ve been there since the start (plus, I’ve been gaming since around -85), but Sammy seems to cater to likeminded individuals (read: Diehard ”fans”). Personally I will NEVER limit myself to one platform (I understand that not everyone can afford more than one platform though), but even if I did, I would never fanboy bash the competition.. With that mentality, you probably only want one platform to succeed, which would be horrible for everyone.
And sure, ofc some platform holders are easy to make fun of, and yeah, MS sure is talkative. But I actually prefer that over Sony’s basically complete silence.
I’m split though… I love much about PushSquare, and I appreciate the hard work Sammy and the others have put in, I generally also really like Sammy’s articles. But the fanboy ***** really turns me off, sometimes even from the brand itself 😅
Nintendolife is a good example of a ”friendlier” site, where it’s more about gaming than anything else.
Either way. Yeah, the state of the gaming industry for developers really suck, and it’s been bad for a long time (I know a bunch of people that works and/or have worked on a number of big games). It’s a tough biz, for sure.
” Bad Microsoft news usually follows bad Sony news, good Sony news, or no Sony news. Mostly because Microsoft is really consistent at putting out bad news 😂”
Yeah that, or the fact that whenever Sony axes studios and people are let go then people here on PushSquare somehow just justifies it. But when it’s reported Microsoft are doing the same, the same people on here are out with the pitchforks.. And you can bet PushSquare reports every little step Microsoft makes. If a MS exec farts, PushSquare reports about it 🤯
Obviously more news of layoffs comes from Microsoft, since they own so many more studios (and bigger studios). Either way, I’m glad I didn’t pursue the game dev path, it’s a horribly shaky industry to be employed in.
Instead I went the Network Engineer path, and that I’m glad for… About Destiny 1&2 and Marathon (and Bungie), I think they’re all great to be honest. I’ve had tons of fun with Destiny, and I first bounced right off Marathon, but I’ve come to really like it.
It’s a huge shame this is happening everywhere in the industry, no one’s safe. One wrong move (often by fault of non-dev execs/owners) and you’re gone.
Nah, if you don’t want to die early, don’t enter the Game Dev industry 😅
Yeah. FromSoftware and Hidetaka Miyazaki apparently vetoed the project. I know. Bluepoint was still an amazing developer. Everyone cheered their asses off when they got bought by Sony. But as we all have seen and know by now, no studio is safe in the current climate. I just find it funny to close Bluepoint, but not Sony Bend, for example. There are more examples/comparions as well. And yeah, none of us know all the ins and outs of each situation.
Still.. I really hate that they closed Bluepoint. I just do 😂
I still haven’t gotten over Sony shutting Bluepoint Games… I was really happy when Sony scooped these masters up, just for them to shut the studio down. 😡 And then we get the news that amongst other great pitches, they pitched a Bloodborne remake.
Sony, W….T….F 😢
On topic, I hope all affected in the coming slaughter will find new jobs!
” the heyday of Call of Duty single player efforts died in the PS3 days”
Wooah. Wait a minute. The Black Ops 6 campaign was legit really good. Better than most of the campaigns in the older ps3/360 games. The ”modern” Modern Warfare campaigns and the BO6 campaign was good. BO7 campaign was wrong on more than one level though..
@Sunraku I could have sworn you came off as negative in the PC gaming/console comparison and so on. My bad if you didn’t.
And, no. You don’t have more experience. I work at a Swedish IT consultant company (I’m a network/IT/Computer engineer). We provide complete solutions in almost all areas. I’m 45, have built my own computers for 30 years, owned almost all graphic cards released (well, not all obviously, but semi-close), I just spent 2 extra years at a University here in Sweden where I ended with a 60 page report about using Gemma 4 26B (amongst a bunch of other models) locally at home, then using Tailscail to my laptop, and my laptop connected to a rack of Cisco switches and routers, I then wrote a 320 line python script and used natural prompting to make the model automatically jump between and configure the Cisco units.
Me and a bunch of people here at the company received a whole bunch of Nvidia B300’s last week (would love to take those home 😂) that we set up.
But yeah. I’m sure you have a lot of experience as well ofc.
And like I said, if I misread (or mistakenly replied to the wrong person) I’m sorry.
Just because you don’t like the ML and AI advancements, doesn’t mean others don’t. I don’t know how much experience you have with DLSS and Fram Gen. My experience is that they both work amazingly well. Sure, it’s ”cheating”, but in reality devs have always been cheating in one or another to be able to adapt to the hardware at hand.
Even my RTX 5070 Ti and i5 13500 clearly plays every game better than my Series X and PS5 Pro. I have my PS5 Pro connected to my PC ”monitor” (LG Oled C5 42”), and the difference in CP2077 for example is huge. Crimson Desert, even more so. Pick any game and the difference is clearly there. I never use frame gen in MP games, except Forza Horizon 6 (barely play MP there though), but frame gen works amazingly well these days, if you have a somewhat nice baseline fps ofc frame gen on 20fps will obviously give you nasty latency.
And I don’t understand how you can say that the difference becomes less obvious the longer the ”generation” goes on? It’s obviously the other way around, as it always has been. PC hardware evolves while the consoles don’t (during the generation). I love my consoles, and I use them at least 50% of the time (compared to my PC), but as long as you have nice PC hardware you can play all multiplatform games better on PC, and the option to set graphic settings and tune in your fps is still unmatched. And you don’t need a 5090.. or 5080, to be able to see and feel a clear difference.
You aren’t wrong. But, graphics still is a big differentiator. It becomes bigger the longer the current console generation comes along. But, even early on CP2077 for example was way prettier on PC, with the right hardware ofc. So I would still put graphics up high as a big difference.
Yeah. Here we go again indeed. Sammy’s penning yet another MS ***** post. It’s only on this site you’ll find someone penning so many negative articles about a ”rival”. No other site comes close. Why is that i wonder? Fanboyism-deluxe is probably the only answer. This is a PlayStation site after all. At the same time it feels so unprofessional somehow, and juvenile. I game on all systems, and I actually love a LOT of what Sammy is doing with PushSquare. The whole site feels alive somehow. And I understand that a lot of hard hard work has gone into it (and still do!). But posts like these (there’s been so many of them..) really puts me down on the site in general.
I just think it’s just such a shame.
And we all know Sony themselves have been horrible with mixed messaging and turning back on multiplatform engagements and whatnot. And their focus this gen has been all over the place, and more often than not in the wrong place..
Still love my PS5 Pro though.
But yeah. When you run such a big site as this, i think I expected something more professional, that’s all.
@Fartingale
Why would they? Steam isn’t a competitor in the same Sony is. Sure, Steam will compete with Microsoft’s own Xbox Pc Store. But they will want to sell ”Helix” PC’s/”Consoles” and GamePass subs. And games obviously. But they already sell a TON of games, considering they’re like the second biggest publisher. So, many games that sell like hotcakes on Steam are money in Microsoft’s pockets anyway (after Steams cut obviously). Win/Win.
” this all just seems reflective of Microsoft’s ever-changing strategy.”
Haha. Yeah, Sony obviously also know a thing or two about ”ever-changing” strategies… Come on.. Funnily enough, the only console manufacturer that has held a, sort of, straight line is Nintendo.
Probably, but more likely he’s the definition of FAN BOY. It’s quite disgusting to be honest, and pieces like this makes me never want to visit the site ever again (and I’ve sold my Xboxes). This is the only site right now that’s run by such an obvious toxic fanboy. A real gamer doesn’t put out crap like this. Hell, I think I’m gonna buy a new Series X just in spite 😂 This whole ”nasty big brother” attitude is so 90’s and toxic. I’ve owned basically all gaming consoles and have built my own PC’s for 30 years, and yeah; fanboy wars was fun and all - 30 years ago when I was 15..
A lot of speculation in the comments here.. First of all, the game is NOT a buggy mess. It’s weirdly really polished, and it’s really good (not a ton of content yet, but a whole bunch of hours of fun to be had for sure). Oh, and it looks amazing on PC (with the right hardware). Second; This is most likely not a ”under-Phil’s-watch” exclusivity deal at all. Even a Subnautica 2 dev said himself that Sony doesn’t really have a clear early access program. Obviously Sony DO let a few early access games onto the PS5 (Palworld), but clearly they don’t like it overall. Big mistake in my book, but I think they’ll come around eventually.
Like it’s up to the devs? lol.. Oh, there are a ton of great games being canceled each year because higher ups says so.
And for the record, the multiplayer in the first Last of Us was amazing. I loved it to bits, even with how semi barebones it was. A full separate MP within that universe would have been fantastic, I’m sure.
Playing this on the Pro sounds nice. But it’s still not the nearly the best way to play it. The game runs in letterboxed 21:9, which is the way the game was meant to be played. This means it runs best on a 21:9 ultrawide monitor, where you don’t get black letterboxed bars. I played the PC version on my 34 inch 21:9 Oled, maxed out at 120-ish fps. I loved it. I agree with some of the downsides. But I’d rate it at around 8/10. These two games has done a lot to shine a light on mental health. Kudos.
Xbox are the only ones actually committing to their rewards scheme!
And it’s better than Nintendo’s or Sony’s ever been. And it’s built into their consoles and in the Xbox Pc app (and the mobile app), and you can earn reward points in all three ways..
I converted my Xbox points yesterday to a 500 SEK coupon on Amazon (around $45-50). I’ve gathered those points this year, and I haven’t gotten points from game purchases (which you do get as well).
So yeah. The Xbox rewards scheme is fantastic in comparison. Damn Sony… I was hoping they would make Stars better, and implement it into the console. Instead they shaft it completely?? 🤬
I really hope they put out something better. But doubtful, and probably not before the current scheme properly ends in 1.5 years from now(!). 😣
Releasing FF XVI 2 years(!) later on Xbox at basically full price probably didn’t help any sales either. It would most likely have sold more overall if it released on PS5, Series X and PC on day 1. Anyone honestly thinks otherwise? Exclusivity deals like this only hurt game sales and boosts console sales for that console maker (Sony in this case).
And SquareEnix probably, finally, understand that. A bit too late though. I’m keeping my Series X and PC for GamePass (which is wonderful, what a year so far!! The Alters dropped just now, and it’s amazing). I’ll obviously hold on to my PS5 Pro as well, I have to because of the exclusives (do LOVE the Dualsense and Dualsense Edge though..).
PC will be the best version of the game, as most often is the case. I’ll play it day one on GamePass 😁
But yeah, as others have mentioned; I don’t particularly miss all the grey and brown from that UE3 era 😅 But I’ve always loved Gears 1, the setting and mood. It was ofc amazing back in the day, and it has aged pretty well!

Re: Sony's Social Media Still Toxic Two Weeks After PS5 Discs Debacle
@Dogbreath
Talk about missing 90% of the point.
It’s not just about the loss of physical media.
But sure. You sit there and say nothing (surefire way of making exactly zero change, like history have showed us).
Re: 'Millions of Gamers Value True Ownership': PS5, PS4 Represented Half of All UK Physical Game Revenue in 2025
@ButteredCrumpet
Re: PS5's Physical Disc Debacle Will Attract More Anger if This Xbox Rumour Is True
@Yaycandy
Re: 'I Know This Is Painful': Xbox Confirms 3,200 Job Losses in Industry Bloodbath
@Sunraku
What? You do realize Microsoft historically work towards enterprise right? A huge part of their business is enterprise. Your link shows nothing wrong, they have to to be able to compete with competitors. We/you may not like it, but AI isn’t going anywhere.
Re: 'I Know This Is Painful': Xbox Confirms 3,200 Job Losses in Industry Bloodbath
@Banjo-
Yeah, I really liked/like Phil as well.
Re: 'I Know This Is Painful': Xbox Confirms 3,200 Job Losses in Industry Bloodbath

Re: Reaction: Travelling the World Made Me Realise What PlayStation Is About to Lose
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
Huge difference. Nintendo isn’t doing ”code in the box”. Some Switch 2 games are on game key cards. They look like regular switch 2 cards, but they don’t contain the game, just a chip which gives you access to download said game. The difference is that this game key card can still be sold or lent out! So a HUGE difference compared to a one-time
Code in a box..
Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?
@Mostik
Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?
@Titntin
Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?
@Titntin
Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?
@tofuman86
Oh, and no paying for online MP gaming.
Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?
@Titntin
Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Burned Through the Last Remaining Goodwill of Its Fans
@Th3solution
Re: Sony Takes Social Media Time Out After Controversially Killing Physical Games
Re: PlayStation Consoles to Stop Getting Disc-Based Physical Releases in 2028
Re: 'I Don't Know What They're Thinking': Ex-PlayStation Boss Weighs in on Sony's PC Port Backtracking
@Meowmixes98

” Pushsquare also regularly slams Playstation as well
So... what's your point?”. Oh come on.. 😂
I know you’re not replying to me.
Re: Sony Will Continue to Chase Live Service Dream, Despite Mostly Disastrous Execution to Date

No it won’t get support for 10 years, probably not half that. ’Cause they will release SF7 before that.

Indeed. I’ve not seen an article about it either. But that indeed sucks. Weird that there’s no mention of any reimbursement or anything… Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence 👀
Re: GTA 6 Screenshots Unlikely to Be Running Real-Time on PS5, Tech Experts Warn
Re: Bungie Loses 292 Full-Time Staff in Heavy Round of Layoffs
@CallMeDuraSouka
Re: Bungie Loses 292 Full-Time Staff in Heavy Round of Layoffs
@wildcat_kickz
Instead I went the Network Engineer path, and that I’m glad for…
About Destiny 1&2 and Marathon (and Bungie), I think they’re all great to be honest.
Re: Rumour: Gaming Industry 'Bloodbath' Imminent, as Sony, Microsoft, and More Brace for Mass Layoffs
@_Nightsever_
I just do 😂
Re: Rumour: Gaming Industry 'Bloodbath' Imminent, as Sony, Microsoft, and More Brace for Mass Layoffs

Re: Xbox Will 'Try to Do More' Console Exclusives if the Health of Its Business Improves
@Sunraku
I could have sworn you came off as negative in the PC gaming/console comparison and so on.

Re: Xbox Will 'Try to Do More' Console Exclusives if the Health of Its Business Improves
@Sunraku

” Aw sh*t, here we go again”
Re: Rumour: Halo PS5 Trailer Was Planned for State of Play, Sony Allegedly Angered by Removal
@Fartingale
Win/Win.
Re: Rumour: Halo PS5 Trailer Was Planned for State of Play, Sony Allegedly Angered by Removal
Re: Xbox Fans Flock to Online Suggestions Box to Tell Microsoft to Keep Games Off PS5
@Gabrielmpf
Sammy, wtf? You just can’t help yourself.
I hope more people boycott the site.
Cheers
Re: Subnautica 2 Is the Biggest Game Around Right Now, But When Is It Coming to PS5?

@nomither6
Re: Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced (PS5) - Cinematic Spectacle Offers Little Else
Kudos.

Depends on what you mean with ”well”. I’d say A LOT of people have PC’s these days that run games at least as good as the 5 year old current consoles.
Personally I mostly game on the PS5 Pro (and Portal), PC with a RTX 5070 Ti and Switch 2.
But yeah. Most people don’t have the 5-series Nvidia cards, but plenty have rigs that play modern games ”well”.

@itsfoz
Xbox??
Re: Final Fantasy 16 May Have Underperformed on PS5, But It's Doing Terribly on Xbox

@OldGamer999
