When Sony pulled support for multiplayer psvr1 games, just because only several hundred people were playing on the servers (even though the were paying PSN customers), that's when it said to the gamers that Sony Don't Care. So nothing much has really changed. No support again, so more casual gamers don't invest this time round. It's never for the gamers.
Traded in, just couldn't cope with 70 playthroughs of JUST the first level boss, on top of the 45 it took to get to the first boss. Balance in this game (compared to the genre) always seemed... off, not right Was it this site that said "it seems like a game that doesn't want to be played" ? I think that was spot on.
I was looking forward to it, especially with this-gen to power it, but shame they didn't more time on the game than the CGI trailer. When I heard creator left, I knew it would go down hill! Maybe MS need to buy them out and get the game out the door, like Psychonauts 2 ? Don't have me for saying that, lol
I will be signing up for a day one on this! Can't wait for little bit more news regarding backwards compatibility though, surely something must port over, even if displaying 'same' resolution is psvr1
I was quite happy with assassin's creed valhall a 30 fidelity, then on a whim changed to 60 performance When I tried to go back to 30 fidelity it seemed absolutely awful. Been playing on 60 performance ever since. Clocked over 170 hours and have not looked back
This is the main reason I got the ps5, tbh*. All the big names like battlefield, coduty, don't interest me, this is the one for me, followed the series from ps2, loved every one
With each re-watch it is still nearly impossible to get the scale of the worlds, I'm looking into the distance and all i can see is incredile detail, (and things going on, way over there!) Replaying the upgraded play@home PS4 version and stunning though it is, this is just crazy. This is WHY I got the PS5, and will replay it to death, worth the money
Looking forward to getting my ps5 at Easter, it's a definite, but as mentioned above, the missteps are adding up on this...
It's nearly turning into the Xbox 1 reveal with me and others turning to each other and saying "did they really design it that way? did they really just say that?"
Not as bad of course, but hope you see what I mean.
I think not storing 5tb of ps5 games on an external HDD ready to swap into SSD when ready is a big oversight. It's obviously possible, but just not implemented, making it obvious that is just badly planned out.
It's really not the first time I've thought "it's NOT for the gamers"
I will have both next gen consoles, but glad that the Xbox will be getting some exclusive titles for a change. The lose of income from bringing titles to eg Sony will be felt somewhere though, I have a slight worry that they will try to to monetize some aspects of the games... Don't think it will be buying in-game currency, but rather the type of things that we've seen in recent Assassin's Creed - skins, weapon packs, double xp for a few hours, horses etc. I'll be one of the ones that just use the basic game in game pass and they will get extra money from other gamers!
This is the second time I've missed out. Slightly more notice but I was on a couple of sites that were wanting me to stump up the full price, instead of a deposit . Spoke to local store and they said Sony had not allowed them to to have preorders and deposits in a bricks-and-mortar
Guessing it went wrong with they lied and said there would be lots of notice. Then for UK it was 10pm to say it's 8am next morning. Retailers then didn't help with starting at 10:01pm They could have done a lot lot better
@Kidfried yes, just got my Sony surround a few days ago and been enjoying tlou2 with arc. Shame to lose 1 of the 3 hdmi inputs on the Samsung TV, (hdmi3 is the arc 'out'), but sure. I think it's not good to lose the optical port on the ps5 though
Finally getting around to playing The last of us part 1 remastered on the PS4. I bought it a couple of years ago I think. previously finished on the PS3 a lot of years ago. I'm enjoying it I'm getting ready to start part 2
Disappointing given that Xbox controllers are all cross compatible and that the big Green company has been the one to invest so much time and effort in creating that adaptive controller. Sony be are a company that make big money, and really at the end of the day, they don't seem to give a stuff about the players.
I'll have both new consoles, but only single player (ratchet, tlou3, uncharted) on PS5. XsX will have everything else, including gamepass , cloud streaming, and 98% of my money. it's worth noting that PlayStation have a habit of closing down servers of games that aren't very popular. MS keep everything. For this fact alone I do not give money to PSN, ever
