Re: Battle Cursed Start-Up Companies in Going Under on PS4 This Year

Outlaw_Overlord

Okay, seriously, what is going on here:

Battle Cursed Start-Up Companies in Going Under on PS4 This Year

Completely out of context I have no clue what this article title is.

Maybe it's just me, but I find myself annoyed on this site trying to decipher the meaning behind article titles.

Can you bold, italicize, not capitalize every word, use hyphens, or do SOMETHING to let the reader know what part of your article title refers to the subject matter and not just words in the title.

I love the site, I love the articles, but scrolling down the front page for games that I'm not already aware of is a headache.

Really this is the only site I use to get my video game news, I like the layout, I like the writers, I like the content and perspective. I can't stand these all capitalized article titles that leave me really confused as to what the article is even about.

I'm sure it makes sense to the writers, and it probably makes sense to people that are familiar with video games and have prior knowledge about what's what.

But to me, it's a grievance that I suppose maybe only I have?

@JoeBlogs

100% agreed, as someone who uses PushSquare as my primary gaming news source, and doesn't have any prior knowledge of the games or expansions they talk about, I often find myself on Google trying to determine what game PushSquare is talking about since it's very unclear what part of the article title is the game or expansion title from the formatting of the article title.

Re: Need for Speed Heat Spring Update Adds Free and Premium Cars and Cosmetics

Outlaw_Overlord

Man, I get so confused by what's in the title of a game or update or whatever with the capitalization of the articles:

When I see:
Need for Speed Heat Spring Update

I don't know if it's the:
"Heat Spring" update for "Need for Speed" or
a spring update for "Need for Speed Heat" or
an update for "Need for Speed Heat Spring"

All the time I see articles on this website and don't know where the title of a game or update begins and where it's just words in the article.

Examples of other sites:
"Need For Speed Heat--Huge March Update Adds Black Market And Hundreds Of Bug Fixes"

In that article title there are dashes to signify that's where the title ends.

Or

"EA reassigns future Need for Speed projects to Burnout developer Criterion Games"

In that's article title all the regular words not involving the game are in lower case making it very obvious.

Games can have weird titles, so it's not always obvious where the title of a game ends and the other words in an article begin when it's all caps.

Re: Sony Wants to Make Every PS5 Game Multiplayer with Cloud Controller Sharing

Outlaw_Overlord

I recall a Sega Genesis title, don't recall the name, but it was a twin stick shooter where you piloted a giant Mecha.

In two-player mode one person controlled the walking and the other controlled the firing.

It was mad fun playing with my brother and it was my favorite game until it was returned to the blockbuster to collect dust.

This could be cool for the right games

Re: US PS Store Flash Sale Reduces Remedy Shooter Control Weeks After Release

Outlaw_Overlord

Again, every article having every word be capitalized makes deciphering article name's at a glance confusing.

Being out of the loop I don't know until further review if the game your talking about is:

Reduces Remedy Shooter
Remedy Shooter Control
Shooter Control Weeks After
Control Weeks After
Shooter Control Weeks

Upon further review it makes sense, but on this site I'm the article titles, the name of the game blends into other nearby words.

Re: Sony Thinks PlayStation Is Too Big to Ignore

Outlaw_Overlord

I just recently sold my TV and PlayStation.

I'm tired of all the bad games.

That being said I've got over $2000 worth of digital titles.

So when Elder Scrolls 5 comes out then you bet your bottom dollar Ps5 will be my platform of choice

At least until the 8th re-release of Elder Scrolls 5, then I might have to upgrade.

Re: Tifa's Chest Size Reduced in Final Fantasy VII Remake Per Square Enix Ethics Department Request

Outlaw_Overlord

Sounds like my puritan Aunt, "large breasts are indecent".

Way to body shame women Square Enix. There's a difference between hyper-sexualizing a character and just having a character with certain proportions.

On a whole I don't have a problem with character redesigns, I don't find her breast size to be a defining aspect of her character, but do go so far as to say it's unethical, and to keep it natural I would say offends the wonderful women who have those natural proportions.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11 - Making One Fatal Mistake

Outlaw_Overlord

Had trouble reading this article. I noticed that all the hard "c's" weren't replaced with "k's".

Example:

The idea of timelines kolliding leads to pure fan-service, and each kutscene is more bombastic than the last. Heads roll, kastles are stormed, and there are twists and turns galore across the story’s six to eight hour runtime. It’s easily up there with NetherRealm’s work on the Injustice franchise, and shows how it's been honing its kraft for so long.

Re: Senran Kagura Producer Quits, Largely Blames Rise in Gaming Censorship

Outlaw_Overlord

@AdamNovice
@ShogunRok

Okay okay, obviously people are supportive of censoring adult content and feel that those that enjoy it are "lowbrow" or just perverts that should just go online.

Where is the line on all this? Devil May Cry censored a butt on PS4. Still scored an M rating. Solaris showed George Clooney's butt and got an R rating.

What level of cleavage is fine? What about provacativity?

Should Sony also ban movies with adult content in them from being distributed on their platform?

What about videos streamed on their platform?

As soon as my controller is being used for anything other than menu navigation then is that where adult content becomes unacceptable?

Re: Senran Kagura Producer Quits, Largely Blames Rise in Gaming Censorship

Outlaw_Overlord

@themcnoisy
@ShogunRok

What happened? I like to see naked women. I have for quite a while. You can call it pathetic, I would call you a prude.

Yes I've got the internet with unlimited viewing of the nakedz, but why shouldn't I be able to have that in a video game too?

I certainly don't need video games to get my fix, but I don't see why nudity and lewd content should be banned from a specific media form.

I think that games can be transformative experience, it doesn't always have to be about stats and gameplay, it can tell a story, share some art, etc. To that end I feel that if someone wanted to make a compelling adult experience on console then it should be up to market forces and esrb to decide if it's a successful venture.

As it comes to me playing naked ninjas. I didn't ever "get my rocks off" so to speak, but I just enjoyed my characters running around with their jiggly bits exposed 🤷‍♂️ the game is OKAY outside of that, it's about on the level of Dynasty Warriors, but if I'm going to be spending hours mindlessly mashing the square button I'd rather put my money to those games with scantily clad women.

*As a side note I think that of course anything involving children is highly in appropriate and I think it's fair to ban that type of content as that is getting into child safety issues.

**The DMC censorship was also rediculous.

*** I can't believe we can show XRay images of people disembowling other kombatants, bones snapping, eyes being gouged out, heads being ripped off, hearts being crushed in hand, but an exposed butt or nipple is too much.

Re: Senran Kagura Producer Quits, Largely Blames Rise in Gaming Censorship

Outlaw_Overlord

I stopped playing when they took the "balloons" out of Estival Verses.

For those not in the know you can add on bits and bobs to costumes. This attachment was for balloons that came in two colors:

Flesh peach
And
Nipple Pink

These could be rotated, resized, and attached to any body part.

Meaning I could give all my ninjas big beautiful boobs.

Yo be fair I only gave the boobs to the characters that looked like adults, didn't have any interest in giving a visually 13 year old girl naked tatas, but plenty of people did, and put their naked warriors in provacative poses

They took the balloons out and with it my interest in the game

Lol, to heck with Sony's censorship. I'm an adult and I want to see some boobs and butt darn it!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the ANTHEM Public Demo?

Outlaw_Overlord

Gameplay loop was solid, one of my favorite gameplay experiences in my gaming life.

I would imagine this game will be content starved.

I don't see it having much in the way of enemy variety or challenge beyond numerical arvantages/disadvantages.

End game will see builds reduced to a few top tier choices I'm sure.

Overall I'm very excited, but setting my expectations LOW.

There is no way they will have the content to satiate the hardcore looter shooters out there.

I love looter shooters, but lead a busy life these days, so in this case I'm actually OKAY if it releases with only so much content and then drip feeds new content. It'll be a happy diversion that I hopefully won't have to dedicate too much time in order to keep a favorite build or two relevant.

Re: Soapbox: The Problem with ANTHEM Is That the Storm Javelin Is Way, Way More Fun Than the Other Suits

Outlaw_Overlord

@AtanamiReign

You got to unlock an additional suit, and some people got to try out all 4 (myself included)

They are all very unique in terms of play style. I don't know how they'll balance out at level 30, but pretty much any game has some rock stars at different level ranges, so who's to say if Storm will be just as dominant end game with full legendaries.

Luckily it's not PvP and the Storm can shine when it's in the back supporting the other Javelins, so it's a great role on the team, and not the only role.

Re: Soapbox: The Problem with ANTHEM Is That the Storm Javelin Is Way, Way More Fun Than the Other Suits

Outlaw_Overlord

@ShogunRok
I respectfully disagree with your assessment.

In terms of "fun", the Storm was nifty but didn't even come close to interceptor. Who needs to hover when you can fly all around the battle field weaving dashes and jumps? I could coast through any part of the map, fly longer, and much faster with my interceptor.

The constant damage of his blades, along with ability to stunlock any enemy (remember shielded enemies are immune to status effects) let me switch up easily from assassinating elites and heavy enemies, to popping an ice or electricity aura for taking down waves of grunts.

Geared up, I was survivable, my +33% damage buff on boss helped everyone to lay down damage, and my ability to triple jump while reloading, or constantly chain dash farther than anyone else helped me position my gunplay and get my shots in where it counts.

Not only that, but no javelin could match my ability on the stronghold to bypass fights entirely, zipping through enemy lines, clearing objectives, dashing around whether I was overheated and couldn't fly or not.

And as far as skills... Yeah the shurikens are lame, that's no lie. I used the freezing Glaive to get my ice aura and a lighting kick to remove sheilds and get a lightning aura.

Honestly if you think about the Interceptors main skills bring dashing, combo melee, and it's auras that constantly apply status for 10-15 seconds at a time and can be used back to back: and their first and second abilities are more like tools to let you do those things better, it's a better way to look at the class.

I do agree that the Storm is probably the "Strongest" javelin, and a very welcome addition to any group, but in my experience the gameplay really shines when you have Javelins filling in different roles. I found success in many team comps, 2 Interceptors and 2 Colossus, or one of each class. I think they did a great job of making each contribute something unique that's helpful to different combat scenarios.

For big groups of enemies really Colossus can lay down way more raw damage than storm with his explosion combos.

The ranger will appeal more to those that like a good ole third person shooter. It's skills are designed to be popped off quickly so you can focus on gunplay. It seems to get tankier inscriptions, and it's bubble shield is way too useful for rezing allies. When I loaded my Ranger with two +10% light machine gun damage components and some other skills that extended my clip size, I certainly didn't feel like I was missing out on skills as I mowed through waves of bugs, and burned down enemies.

In general something I found on hard is that most abilities, storm included seem to take down either most of a sheild, 70% of a health bar, or detonate a combo for crazy damage. Now unless that combo is going off that means that an ability mostly weakened an enemy and it'd take another cast to finish the job, or a little bit of gunfire.

So even though the Storm is throwing down a ton of damage, having a good gunfighter finishing off enemies rapidly helps clear the waves faster.

@RogerRoger
I had a lot of fun playing solo. I even got to do the stronghold solo a couple times when my allies vanished.

I'd say it's extra challenging solo, and not balanced around it for strongholds, but a ton of fun all the same.

The stronghold boss took a long time as I didn't have as many opportunities to hit his weak points, so that part wasn't a ton of fun and definitely not designed for solo, but literally every other part of the demo I felt confident to take on solo and have a blast

Re: Poll: Do Developers Betray Fans When Player Choice Suddenly Doesn't Matter in an RPG?

Outlaw_Overlord

Creative director had this to say in an interview about the game:

“Since the story is choice-driven, we never force players in romantic situations they might not be comfortable with,” Dumont says. “Players decide if they want to engage with characters romantically. I think this allows everybody to build the relationships they want, which I feel respects everybody’s roleplay style and desires.”

Re: Talking Point: How Much Does Cross-Play Matter to You?

Outlaw_Overlord

Occasionally I'd like to play with some of my Xbox friends, but other times I see the lobbies of Xbox people filled with 9 year olds, and I'm grateful that there is less of that shenanigans on my console of choice.

I choose my console based off hardware, price, and exclusives. And ultimately Xbox+Nintendo population probably doesn't add up to psn, so it's not like playing on the cross network would give me more people to play with.

Still, I'd like to play monster Hunter with some dudes at my local game lounge on another console

Re: Brand New ANTHEM Assets Unearthed Ahead of E3 2018

Outlaw_Overlord

Hmmm I like how you jetpack in to the map from the central city.

I just hope there's some kind of big verses mode where all the players jetpack in to a big map, and have to scrounge for weapons and gear quick. Some kind of 100 person single elimination mode.

My only concern is that people will camp and the action will be too spread out. Maybe they could have some kind of encrouching threat that forces players to move to some kind of center to keep the dwindling down player count focusing on killing each other.

Well call it... Capture the flag.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of Monster Hunter: World After Trying the PS4 Beta?

Outlaw_Overlord

I've played MH on my friend's Vita for a few hours before and loved it.

This iteration seems like a excellent addition to the series and I'm stoked to get to sit down with it on my big screen

I'm excited to get into crafting. It seems like the new armor skills and amulet and mantles are a really simple and in depth system to tweak your Hunter just as you want. I remember before you had to hit some kind of threshold to activate skills and limited your viable options a bit.

The depth in the combat system is appreciated, and from what I understand you can swap weapon in camp mid-mission. It'll be hard to put the insect glaive down, but it's a nice feature.

The world is beautiful, the monster interactions are great! (My little cat warrior mounted a lizard to fight the Trex with me )

I'm so excited. Character models and animations are spot on

Re: Soapbox: Why Is Sound So Underappreciated in Games?

Outlaw_Overlord

I'd like to give a shoutout to Overwatch here. It made a very conscious choice to do away with the classic FPS mechanic of the radar. Every character has a unique sound of walking even so you kbow exactly which enemy is flanking you, on top of ultimates giving audio cues for some of the most devestaying effects. It showed that its very possible to create spacial awareness using sound in a hectic game.

Re: Hands On: Is Nioh on PS4 a Cut Above Its Competitors?

Outlaw_Overlord

To be honest, I don't agree with the harder than souls comparison.

just like the souls games, running into an area without investing into levels and gear will make your experience much more difficult, always plausible, but very difficult.

After an hour grinding in the demo, I felt very comfortable with my character, focusing my level ups on one particular weapon style (namely katana, mid stance) and mastering that, the level ups in the stance made a substantial difference in my ability to perform combat maneuvers.

as to the multiple enemies, I'm very pleased with the difficulty tuning here. it's about positioning and timing. I had to tactically dodge both attacks while refining a quick strike here and there to soften then up, and execute a decicive strike when one enemies stamina would drain.

Overall i found the combat variety with me in great control of my Anime-Geralt executing flashy combos, to instantly perform a nice degree of evasive maneuvers to position myself. rolls, dashes, and sprints chain smoothly to navigate the battlefield with ease.

and on the other hand the game rewards the steady hand. Tactically you could win fights holding perfectly still, waiting for your opponent to slip up, and allowing your blade to do the maneuvering for you

Re: There's a Way to Play Gundam Breaker 3 in English This April

Outlaw_Overlord

yeah, it really goes beyond someone being "butthurt" about something. it was a derrogatory term used during WW2, and meant to dehumanize and degrade our enemies at the same time that us jolly Americans were putting the Japanese into internment camps based solely on their nationality and our xenophobia. Many people might not see the connection or see it just as an abbreviation like "Brit" is to the british, but it really along the same league as the N word in terms of offense taken. so use that abbreviation in the same way youd use the N word, which should probably be never in my opinion. Doesn't matter how you see it, or many would, it is actually offensive for good historical reasons. And Canuk is not in the same ballpark whatsoever. your Vanquever team uses it as their team name and a quick Wikipedia search shows that it's commonly used and not deemed derrogatory. So just because you don't come from a people who have been violently persecuted against on basis of race, doesn't give you any right to use language that has been used to persecute others

so say sorry okay?

Re: There's a Way to Play Gundam Breaker 3 in English This April

Outlaw_Overlord

Yes please do a review.

Until From Software gets off their Dark fetish and makes a proper Armored Core title for the ps4, I'm desperate for a good old mech customization game. this video showed that it can handle that aspect, but it would be quite a delightful surprise if the gameplay was fun to match.

Yes I'll keep my eyes pried to this page for a review to decide if I'll import for the first time ever.
