Re: GTA 6 Building Anticipation by Holding Back Marketing Until Closer to PS5 Release

OmegaStriver

@somnambulance I agree, in all my years of gaming I have never been less hyped for the industry than what I am right now.

Silence does not get me hyped, but in the last 15 years, it’s what the gamers pushed the industry to change too. I remember seeing a lot of people saying quit showing games early quit showing previews. Quit giving release windows just be quiet about it until the game releases, and the businesses listened.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Assassin's Creed Shadows?

OmegaStriver

I wanna play it and would like to buy it, but I’ve just got too many games that take forever to beat.

I just finished Avowed this past week and that took right at 50 hours. I’m also in the middle of playing cyberpunk. I also have Final Fantasy 16 and the new dragons age that I got cheap that I haven’t even started yet.

I understand wanting to get your moneys worth for games, but these games are so huge that I just don’t have the time for it.

Re: Signs of Life Yet as Hollow Knight: Silksong Mentioned, No Date

@rjejr I only get on the Internet by phone anymore and I’m aware of the problem you’re mentioning, but this one is when I’m trying to read an article and I scroll down and one of those embedded ads are there the size of it is changed to wear. It wants to go full screen, and so it’s constantly trying to scroll up and down.

I’ve been using this site for years and never had that type of problem, if those types of ads stay, it will definitely reduce my visits here.

Re: FragPunk Dev Apologises For Making Fun of Spectre Divide Shutdown

I’m not trying to be overly negative, but I got a feeling in this game will die just as quickly as the vast majority that have in the last few years.

There are already too many established IP’s with big fan bases that might check it out, but aren’t willing to leave the content they’ve purchased.

They may prove me wrong though.

Re: Rumoured God of War PS5 Remasters Won't Be at 20th Anniversary Event

OmegaStriver

Don’t take this the wrong way, I still enjoy games, and am currently playing Avowed, Split Fiction, Cyberpunk and a handful of multiplayer games, but there have been so many rumors that weren’t true and bad news regarding games over the past few years that I don’t get hyped much anymore.

I’m too busy living in the moment.

It may be better explained by using grand theft auto six. I truly don’t care when it releases. They could delay it for two more years and I still won’t care, but when it does release, I will be there day one.

When it comes to building up my hype, PlayStation has fallen dramatically in comparison to how I felt during the previous generations.

Re: Yoshida: I Played The Last of Us Online and It Was Great

I could’ve swore that I remember reading articles five years ago from Ryan and Hulst that a big focus of PlayStation’s direction is gonna be GaaS going forward and it sure as hell seem like at that point that studios didn’t really have much of an option. Seems like I remember them bragging they had 12 in the pipeline.

Re: Ubisoft Revenue, Net Bookings Decline 31%

OmegaStriver

If I had my way with Ubisoft.

There would be a new 2d Raymond similar to Legends offerings.

Assassins Creed would be rebooted to not include the future segments and focus solely on individual stories that would hopefully lead them to be better and less convoluted.

Farcry would be rebooted and offer more of a mix of what F2 offered along with the later titles. Possibly a smaller denser world filled with destruction elements and better physics like 2 offered in comparison to later versions.

Splintercell would be rebooted as well just to introduce it to a new audience while being very similar to the first few games.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Live Service Push Has Been a Disaster of Utterly Insane Proportions

You can check my history. I’ve said for a long time that the PlayStation five generation is decent to good, but it’s still easily the worst PlayStation generation I’ve ever experienced.

It’s insane to me that they had a working model that they just completely abandoned to try to rip off Fortnite.

Look at uncharted 4 for example. It had a really good single player mode with a good tacked on multiplayer. All they had to do was add a new level every few months and add a compact battle pass that gave new costumes and emotes and I still likely would’ve been playing that game more than what I do now.

These companies getting hooked on the idea that everything has to be a grand scale is biting them in the ass. A Monetized uncharted 4 multiplayer didn’t need to provide a living world. It just needed some new levels, costumes and emotes, and it could’ve lived for years. Hell, the game is still pretty active. I still play it.

Oh well.

Re: Talking Point: Is PlayStation Right in Saying PC Isn't a 'Major Risk' to Console Business?

OmegaStriver

If they ever go day and date on PC, then I will be done with consoles.

They say there’s not much of a risk, but it’s much larger than what they realize.

I’ve probably spent over 10 thousand dollars on PlayStation hardware and software in their stores over the past decade or so. I realize 10,000 may not be much but then you take 1 million other people like me that ditch consoles and move to PC then they stand to lose a lot of sales in their PSN store and hardware.

Re: Helldivers 2 Devs Gift Players Second Wave of Killzone Crossover Content for Free

OmegaStriver

It shocks me and has never set well with me that micro transactions higher than $10 have ever done well.

It seems insane to me that even during the last generation when games were $60 that you would get DLC that was near $20 or higher when the entire game cost 60. I’ve always thought that a majority of micro transaction content should be around five to $10 at the absolute most. And I’ve always felt that true expansions should be the content that’s $20 or higher.

But people are free to spend their money however they want.
