Re: PS5's Ghost of Yotei Fully Revealed in 20 Minute State of Play on 10th July

OmegaStriver

I was talking to my buddy the other day and it’s weird that we are 5 years into the PS5 generation and in regard to first party studios we are still mostly in the dark as to what they are working on. It’s a very disappointing experience.

Back in the day, we would’ve already had a show filled with previews of what’s coming.

Bend-???
Santa Monica-???
Bluepoint-???
Guerilla-???
Media Molecule-???
The other newer studios-???

I’m not stupid, I’m very aware of what most the studios are probably working on. I’m just saying we are five years into the system and it’s mostly silence when traditionally we would’ve had a handful of previews, trailers and reveals by now.

Granted, that stupid GASS push has definitely contributed to this.

@Wizpig17 the crazy thing is that I have not owned an Xbox since the Xbox 360 but I bought a series X 3 years ago due to I wanted to catch up on exclusives. I also have a friend that has never owned an Xbox and he bought one three years ago along with me for the games he has never played, the exclusives and for game pass, but with the changes that they’ve made with putting games on PlayStation we’re not buying whatever Xbox comes next. So they’ve definitely contributed to the loss of console sales in the future with the two of us.

Considering the direction they’re going Sony and Microsoft just go ahead and release a console together next generation.

I prefer exclusives because based off of 30 years of history, I think some of the best games have been exclusive. They had to be great to push the sales of systems and we’ve already experienced that a lot of games overall don’t take the risks that they used, but it is what it is.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Officially Game Over for PSVR2?

OmegaStriver

Im a fan of VR. I owned the PSVR and Oculus from a few years back, but they released the PSVR2 to quickly.

I had a strong feeling because of this it was gonna fail, and they were basically going to abandon it, which is mostly been the case.

They should’ve skipped the entirety of the PS five generation for VR and brought it back a couple years into the PS6 generation.

Re: 'We Won't Make the Same Mistakes Again': Sony Reflects on PS5's Catastrophic Concord

OmegaStriver

It’s not that difficult.

There were many of us that played the Uncharted multiplayers along with Factions.

If they would have kept adding in new levels to experience along with new cosmetics and emotes to purchase, possibly mixed into a battle pass, they would have insured a steady flow of income.

Multiplayer doesn’t have to be a huge living world and story experience. There are those of us that appreciate an expanded traditional experience.

This would have worked with a game like Motorstorm as well.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for June 2025?

OmegaStriver

@SuntannedDuck2 Even if they were not from Sony studios, I would have liked to seen games that gave me vibes similar to: Motorstorm Pacific Rift, LBP, Resistance, Puppeteer, Little Nightmares, Reanimal, South of Midnight, Infamous, Bioshock, Sifu, Limbo.

The vast majority of what was shown did nothing for me. Games like No More Heroes and Journey don’t do it for me.

Re: GTA 6 Building Anticipation by Holding Back Marketing Until Closer to PS5 Release

OmegaStriver

@somnambulance I agree, in all my years of gaming I have never been less hyped for the industry than what I am right now.

Silence does not get me hyped, but in the last 15 years, it’s what the gamers pushed the industry to change too. I remember seeing a lot of people saying quit showing games early quit showing previews. Quit giving release windows just be quiet about it until the game releases, and the businesses listened.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Assassin's Creed Shadows?

OmegaStriver

I wanna play it and would like to buy it, but I’ve just got too many games that take forever to beat.

I just finished Avowed this past week and that took right at 50 hours. I’m also in the middle of playing cyberpunk. I also have Final Fantasy 16 and the new dragons age that I got cheap that I haven’t even started yet.

I understand wanting to get your moneys worth for games, but these games are so huge that I just don’t have the time for it.

Re: Signs of Life Yet as Hollow Knight: Silksong Mentioned, No Date

OmegaStriver

@rjejr I only get on the Internet by phone anymore and I’m aware of the problem you’re mentioning, but this one is when I’m trying to read an article and I scroll down and one of those embedded ads are there the size of it is changed to wear. It wants to go full screen, and so it’s constantly trying to scroll up and down.

I’ve been using this site for years and never had that type of problem, if those types of ads stay, it will definitely reduce my visits here.

Re: FragPunk Dev Apologises For Making Fun of Spectre Divide Shutdown

OmegaStriver

I’m not trying to be overly negative, but I got a feeling in this game will die just as quickly as the vast majority that have in the last few years.

There are already too many established IP’s with big fan bases that might check it out, but aren’t willing to leave the content they’ve purchased.

They may prove me wrong though.

Re: Rumoured God of War PS5 Remasters Won't Be at 20th Anniversary Event

OmegaStriver

Don’t take this the wrong way, I still enjoy games, and am currently playing Avowed, Split Fiction, Cyberpunk and a handful of multiplayer games, but there have been so many rumors that weren’t true and bad news regarding games over the past few years that I don’t get hyped much anymore.

I’m too busy living in the moment.

It may be better explained by using grand theft auto six. I truly don’t care when it releases. They could delay it for two more years and I still won’t care, but when it does release, I will be there day one.

When it comes to building up my hype, PlayStation has fallen dramatically in comparison to how I felt during the previous generations.

Re: Yoshida: I Played The Last of Us Online and It Was Great

OmegaStriver

I could’ve swore that I remember reading articles five years ago from Ryan and Hulst that a big focus of PlayStation’s direction is gonna be GaaS going forward and it sure as hell seem like at that point that studios didn’t really have much of an option. Seems like I remember them bragging they had 12 in the pipeline.
