PlayStation has been the most disappointing it’s ever been for me. The shows and lack of news has been really bad.

I have zero hype.

The vast majority of this generation has been cross-gen games, it doesn’t feel like developers have came close to pushing the PS5, so, unless my PS5 dies I have little interest in a pro, and I bought a PS4 Pro when it released.

I’m a pretty big fan of VR. I’ve owned a few PS VR‘s and oculus quests.

It likely wasn’t possible but they should’ve either skipped the PS five generation, or released it at a later date.

It was just really bad luck that the PS VR two released pretty much when the PS five really became available due to Covid and scalpers.

It’s crazy that the PS VR two‘s biggest competitor was the PlayStation five itself.

Just an FYI my typing looks a little weird because I did this by voice.

I literally laughed when I read realistic tactical shooter inspired by Modern Warfare.

Sony just needs to copy Nintendo.

I wish my PS5 received as much attention from Sony as PC’s have.

This gen is a bad joke in comparison to previous gen’s.

They are constantly getting something to look forward too, and PS5 owners are still left in the dark.

In recent years, it’s became really easy to skip games.

The years they took to release Dreams for it to fall flat definitely didn’t work in their favor.

I imagine they have a lot on the line with their next project.

A new traditional Little Big Planet sounds like the safest bet.

If it’s quality was as good as the old games, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

It’s likely an unpopular opinion, but this current generation of Series X and PS5 sucks in comparison to previous gen’s.

I miss the games and experiences the 360/PS3 generation delivered.

I just want a modern day PlayStation 3 experience.

I want a fantastic game that offers 7 to 18 hours of gameplay with a tacked-on multiplayer.

I would be down for a new linear Resistance that ran around 11 hours with a multiplayer.

I would be down for a new Infamous in a smaller map with a linear story.

Whatever it takes to get costs down but games in my hands at a quicker pace.

Waiting 5-7 years for these 30+ hour games sucks. Take me back to the 3-4 year development times of smaller games. Uncharted two and three immediately come to mind.

@Decimateh-xblz Redfall is a solid game to me. I haven’t beaten it yet due to that I play it co-op with my kids and only play it when they are in the mood for it, though I would be happy to play it by myself.

The 60fps and advanced controls options patch has improved the experience.

It definitely gives Far Cry vibes if you are into that franchise.

They are all worth playing. I’ve actively played Grounded on and off for the last year. I’m really looking forward to their next update. I would have LOVED it as a kid. Hell, I love it now.

@Juanalf Red Fall after all its updates is easily a solid 7/10 at the worst.

@Jayslow I’ve played a majority of those games and I highly recommend Grounded. It’s easily my favorite of the bunch.

Survival games are NOT my thing but It’s the best survival game I’ve ever played. I enjoyed the characters, voice acting, a legit story, the world, the sense of exploration that contributes to the upgrade system.

I beat 4 bosses of Hi-Fi rush and quit. It’s not for me. That took roughly 3-6 hours. I gave it a fair shake.

Grounded deserves way more attention and praise than it gets. It should have been huge.

I believe I heard there is another huge update coming for it in April and I’ll happily jump back in.

My best friend and I both used the trick to get three years for pretty cheap.

After that, I’ll treat it like any other subscription service. I’ll unsubscribe for a good while, sub for 1-3 months to play what I want, then unsubscribe again.

I sure as hell miss how PlayStation was during the previous generations.

There is still a big part of me that thinks much of the PS5’s success is hugely due to the loyalty built with the previous generations. Hell, that’s why I bought 1 day 1.

2or3 Ratchet and Clanks
Motorstorm 1-3
Gran T
The Last of Us
Killzone
God of War 3
Little Big Planet 1-3

And more, The Puppeteer, etc.

This generation has be so disappointing in comparison.

Im a strong supporter of exclusives and feel that they are the driving factor for high quality and pushing the limits of the tech.

Im against Xbox or PlayStation being on each other’s consoles and for that matter, Im against either of their games coming to PC any faster than a year after their release.

Just an FYI, I own many consoles. PS5, Series X, Steamdeck and the Switch.

I learned my lesson with MK1. WB games are bargain bin games.

I played it when it was new and though it was a good game, it wasn’t great like many were making it out to be. I beat 3 or 4 bosses and then quit. I felt like I gave it enough time to grab me but it wasn’t my thing.

It really sucks that after a studio that’s known for some fantastic games, maybe some of the best ever, takes all these years to release this.

I liked Judas.

Death Stranding, Helldivers, Dragons Dogma all looked decent.

The majority of the others reminded me a eastern/anime C level PS3 PS4 games.

The fact that Helldivers is rarely mentioned across multiple apps tells me that sucker is going to land with a thud. Hell, it’s barely mentioned in these comments.

I wish Sony would focus on delivering an experience like they did with the PS3/PS4 for the PS5 because it sure as hell feels like the PS5 generation is the PC generation.

The PS5 gen is easily the most underwhelming PlayStation generation I’ve ever experienced.

Who else thinks they will deviate heavily from how TLoU2 game played out?

It annoys the hell out of me because they are rereleasing a game that is their latest new release. It’s stupid as hell and they aren’t getting even 10$ from me for it.

I just want a roadmap. I want to know what is there to look forward to.

I own all the systems and the sea of thieves bashing in here is weird and cringe. It’s a fun game. Especially with friends.

I would have been interested if this had launched with the game or if it was free, but I have 0 interest in paying for this.

I’m calling that all this extra padding is for the unannounced PC version that will likely release mid summer.

The Valhalla DLC was great though.

It’s going on 5 years since their last released, I hope this meal is close to being finished.

Different subject but I expect the Insomniac hackers to be punished but not for the reason you may think.

It’s due to them tampering with potential huge profits, specifically, they’ve interfered with Disney money. I’ve heard through the years, you don’t mess with The Mouse.

I’m a big fan of VR and I’ve bought 2 PSVRs along with an Oculus through the years but felt from day one that the PSVR2 came at a bad time and actually too early.

It launched when people were still struggling just to get a PS5. I believe the PSVR2 should have released like next year or even later. I just never had a good feeling about it this go around and haven’t bought one either so far.

I truly feel like the PS5’s success is based off of the loyalty PlayStation created with previous generations.

That’s the sole reason I bought a PS5 day 1, as did my friends. We loved previous generations.

Though, we’ve been pretty disappointed with the PS5 and don’t necessarily plan to buy a PS6 day one especially if it looks like they’ll support cross gen for three or more years into its life, because, what’s the point? Might as well just stick with the PS5.

I don’t like that personal information got stolen and leaked, but I like knowing what’s coming, especially since PlayStation has been so tight lipped for years now.

Insomniac’s schedule is very exciting and the Wolverine footage looked great for its current state. You just have to beware it’s all subject to change.

@Porco Yup. We are three years into the PS5 and the vast majority of games that have been released are still PS4 titles.

They would have to absolutely amaze me to get me to buy a Pro.

Though, Uncharted 2-3’s multiplayer and Factions are my all time favorite multiplayers. I’m being serious. They are my favorite over COD, Battlefield, Apex, EVERYTHING.

I just wanted a Factions 2 that was a slight improvement over Factions at best.

Hey!!! It looks like many feel the same way I do.

I liked seeing GoW, Dragon Ball and the new Sega projects.

Before it even started, I decided I was going to give it 30 minutes to hook me otherwise I’d turn it off and just check the news later.

That’s exactly what happened.

After checking in, it’s fine. I may be in the minority, but it feels like there has been an over abundance of alien worlds/space and cyberpunkish/robot games and survival games pushed for a few years now and they just don’t do anything for me. Many of the previews I saw did nothing for me.

Treating your current workers worse, and overworking them by not bringing back layoffs or hiring new people is going to have a detrimental impact.

That read like trying to save money is all on reducing the benefits of hourly employees.

I wonder what are the salaries of the leadership?

As much as I’d like to play GTA6, it’s way too far out to care about.

I haven’t always been this way, but I’m glad I am now. I expect it to release at the end of 2025 at the earliest but can easily see it being pushed to 2026 and I still wouldn’t care. It’s just too far out regardless.

I’m more interested in whatever is releasing in the next 4 months. I guess Tekken 8 is next in line for me.

People are going to be so disappointed when it gets delayed into 2026.

It’s going to happen. They have to walk it back so they don’t absolutely kill their current generation.

I said NO when the news first broke and still stand by that.

They sold full price games with very expensive DLC, then added in a store, traditional season pass and then new at the time battle passes, along with removing story content that you purchased. Destiny NEVER should have been a success.

And Sony bought them for their expertise to implement all of that crap into their own games?! 🤮

Customers that support that crap are ruining gaming.

It’s an unpopular opinion but I’ve been saying for a while now that I believe the PS5’s success is due to past generations and not for what it’s done.

That’s 100% the reason I bought 2 consoles day 1. One for me, one for my kids.

I’ve been pretty underwhelmed by the PS5 so far. I still hold the opinion that it’s basically been a PS4 Pro 2. The vast majority of its games have been PS4 titles. I’ve only been impressed by 3 titles in its 3 years, Astro due to the controller haptics, RnC due to its graphics and realm jumps and Spider-Man 2 due to it’s extremely high level of detail maintained over far distances along with the high speed of travel all achieved in an open world title.

It’s also annoying that a majority of Sony Studios haven’t released an actual NEW PS5 title 3 years into this gen. Naughty Dog, Sony Bend, Media Molecule, Sony Santa Monica have yet to release anything PS5 related worthwhile. Their PS4 offerings have been great though.

I don’t care the reasoning. I don’t care that it takes years to release games. It doesn’t change the fact that the PS5 generation has basically been a just a PS4 Part 2.

If the last 3 years has taught me anything, it’s that I shouldn’t be in a hurry for a PS6 in the future because crossgen is going to be supported for a long time.

I thing the PS5 is easily the most underwhelming PS generation.
