Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 15

Lionhart

@Cloud7749, Thanks so very much. I'm certainly going to pick up Catherine at GameStop. I'm really grateful to know that it isn't X-Rated in tonality. Most good M rated games like Borderlands, Assassin's Creed III, CastleVania Lords of Shadow and Bayonetta are typically on the same level as a PG-13 movie and that's a good thing; but I just wanted to ask so I'd be safe rather than sorry. I really liked the Sheep level of Catherine that I saw in a preview video on IGN.com and it seemed humorous too. I love anime style which reminded me a lot of Persona4Golden. So far, I've been rather slow on heading to the store because I'm trying to budget myself as Christmas is just around the corner and I'm trying to buy smartly. I've already decided against buying the PS4 and waiting until next year's Black Friday to pick it up. Instead, I'm satisfied with the PS3 and my beloved PS Vita. Also gonna pick up that sweet WiiU Zelda Wind Waker bundle.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 15

Lionhart

@Cloud7794, Is Catherine a good game? I wasn't sure if I should buy the game or not because I was hoping Catherine would be just like the Persona games but I was afraid it might have X-Rated content cuz the cover looked so very bra falling down suggestive. The trailer for the game looks really neat and Catherine seems to be like Persona and I'm asking because I want to pick it up on Monday when I go to buy Bayonetta for the PS3.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 15

I'm playing Kingdom Hearts ReMix 1.5 HD! The game is so mesmerizing I've abandoned everything else and I'm focusing on completing the entire game. It's the first major Kingdom Hearts I've played since Birth By Sleep on the PSP. I am hoping that Square Enix will release a Kingdom Hearts game on the PS Vita in the future.

Re: Designer Of The New PS Vita Wants It To Be "Accessible By Anyone"

Lionhart

Personally, I'm quite satisfied with my PS Vita 1000. My PSP 3000 lasted like forever and showed no signs of stopping. One of my personal friends bought a PSP 2000 Slim Lite back in 2007 and it's still working just fine for him and hasn't slowed down a bit. My sister had a PSP 2000 Slim Lite and it wasn't konking out except for the minor problem that the UMD reader gave a few hicks since she dropped the system out in a parking lot one day and prefers physical media for collecting cases and manuals instead of buying from the PSN.

My biggest complaint here is that Sony departed from the glorious beauty of the OLED screen for the lessor LCD screen. I'm not alone in this. Many PlayStation fans on Twitter are decrying the LCD screen which is why I'm a no buy on this. Perhaps, Sony will return to OLED on the PS Vita 3000? For now, I'm sticking with my PS Vita 1000.

Re: Sony: Indie Drive Is Not Just an Angle, It's Truly the Strategy of PlayStation

Lionhart

Personally, I'm all for a level playing field for both large developers and small indies but I don't like shovelware and cell phone type games. If an Indie studio is creating high quality core things like Cosmic Star Online, Bastion, Spelunky, Wakfu, Road Not Taken or Shantae then I'm all for it but if they're going to make baby stuff like Angry Birds, Tiny Monsters, another stuff from Google Play then they can go to an abyss and never return. I don't buy dedicated consoles like PS Vita, PS3 or WiiU for sucky flash player looking games. I buy them for real diehard AAA titles like Assassin's Creed, Castlevania, Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider, Legend of Zelda, Battlefront, Battlefield and Uncharted and this sudden influx of indie titles has me really unsettled. However, Indie games have the potential to rise up and created a new level of quality for smaller budged game development as has been proved by things like Mineraft and Transistor.

Re: Game of the Month: August 2013 - Rayman Legends

Lionhart

@MrGuiltySparks Hey brother! Welcome to the fold! I've got to agree that Push Square definitely is a nice community. The folks are kindly, the staff is so fine that they feel like homeboys and well, there is plenty of milk in the trough to keep us PlayStation hungries feeding till the cows come home.

Re: Project Phoenix Officially Swoops onto PS4 and Vita

Lionhart

@Gemuarto Crap dude. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but sheesh! The art looks really neat. I like what I've seen thus far in regards to Project Phoenix and I'm certainly going to be buying this game. Kickstarter is giving birth to some really neat things this year. Even Shantae!

Re: Game of the Month: August 2013 - Rayman Legends

Lionhart

Personally, I think all the hatred toward Spelunky is absolutely unfounded. I really like Spelunky and I think it's an amazing game that is very challenging and encourages the player to think quickly and the frenetic game play only adds to the joybomb factor. Of course, Rayman Legends on the PS Vita is a must own game as is the first Rayman Origins.

Re: Rumour: Could inFAMOUS Be Shapeshifting onto Vita?

Lionhart

I'd pre-order a inFAMOUS PS Vita game right this minute if it was officially announced. I wouldn't be surprised if a inFAMOUS title really is in development at this moment because it would really be yet another console quality jewel in the crown of the Vita much like Killzone Mercenary.

Re: Sony Stopping PlayStation Home Content Deliveries in Japan

Lionhart

Personally, I didn't like PlayStation Home that much. Especially due to the awful avatar designs. I was hoping for something cool and whimsical like the avatar designs Microsoft has on XBOX Live or Nintendo's Miis on the Wii. The funky character designs on the PSP with PlayStation Room were a definite step in the right direction. Hopefully, Sony will roll out something similar to PlayStation Room or the XBOX Live avatar system on the PS4 and PS Vita.

Re: Reaction: There's Never Been a Better Time to Buy a PlayStation Vita

Lionhart

Personally, Batman AO Blackgate isn't a title that I'm interested in. I want real home console level games on Vita and Killzone Mercernary, Helldivers, Tearaway and Borderlands 2 are answering that call. Helldivers could be a sign that we could get Diablo III on PS Vita. Borderlands 2 means things like BioShock Infinity and CoD Ghost will eventually come to PS Vita. Murasaki Baby looks like a Tim Burton game and that's a good thing. Indies are nice but we need more triple A games. The key fact is that we must remain patient. I'm sure that in the coming weeks and months we'll see more high quality triple a non port games announced by both first and third party developers.

Re: Reaction: Sony Refreshes PS4 with Indie Vision, Keeps Ammunition Stashed Away

Lionhart

I think Sony is playing the Indie Software card far to much now. It was a nice flair at first but now Sony has played the Indie card to the extremity and it's becoming annoying. I don't want the PS Vita or PS4 for a pantheon of Indie games but for a vast selection of high quality triple A and Blockbuster games such as Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Ratchet and Clank, Dragon Age, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and Mirror's Edge.

Re: Don't Feel Blue, Below Could Come to PlayStation 4 Yet

Lionhart

That looked really nice. It felt like a marriage between PlayStation's Journey and the Big N's Legend of Zelda with the title "What Lies Below" sending my mind to Capcom's upcoming PS4 title "Deep Down". Hopefully, What Lies Below will not only release on PS4 but on PS Vita as well.

Re: Rainbow Skies Will Brighten Up PS3 and Vita in 2014

Lionhart

This is really exciting! I'm so happy that I own a PS Vita. Things are finally heating up on it. It's also great to see that developers and Sony aren't abandoning the PS3 even after the release of the PS4. I dislike how Nintendo and Microsoft forsake their consoles after release new products.

Re: Sony to Hog the GamesCom Spotlight on 20th August

Lionhart

I'm seriously hoping that Sony will focus on the PS Vita at Gamescome 2013. Hopefully, they'll unveil some really high quality console level games for the PS Vita. I hope Heavenly Sword 2 will be on PS Vita and not streamed from the PS4 to Vita like The Witcher 2 is. We need Sony to really support and stand behind the PS Vita.

Re: First Impressions: Killzone: Mercenary Is the Vita Shooter That You've Been Waiting For

Lionhart

That's a great preview Sammy! I signed up for the beta but I haven't gotten an e-mail from Sony yet. I love the PS Vita and we definitely need more games on it like Killzone Mercenary, Assassin's Creed Liberation and Street Fighter X Tekken. If Killzone Mercenary sells well in both the United States and Europe then I'm sure more studios will get behind the Vita and breathe it a revival with more triple A titles because right it seems as if only Indie developers are investing in it.

Re: Sony to Improve PlayStation Vita Sales with Hardware Initiatives

Lionhart

The PS Vita is really in a pickle. I've grown VERY frustrated with Sony and my PS Vita. I am just going to invest in the PS4. If Sony and third parties focus on high quality home console level games (i.e. Killzone Mercenary) then I might stick with PS Vita but until then no. I don't care a poo about iPads and "dirt cheap" games. I am a harcore gamer who was wants well crafted games with high quality graphics.

Re: PlayStation Store PLAY 2013 Saves You Money This Summer

Lionhart

What about the PS Vita? Sony truly has abandoned it. I might as well sell mine or trade it in toward the PS4. It's as if Sony doesn't care about the Vita at all.

I am very disappointed that only one of these games is available on the PS Vita. I had hoped that Duck Tales would be playable on my VIta system. What happened to Cross-Buy and Cross-Play?

Re: BioShock Vita Still a Topic of Conversation Between Sony and 2K Games

Lionhart

First, to begin with I'm extremely tired of all the negativity and gloom and doom that some folks keep spewing regarding the PS Vita. The PS Vita has some really good titles coming down the pipes and it's a great system. I really like and enjoy my PS Vita and I'm looking forward to Killzone Mercenary. Apparently, people are conveniently forgetting that two majorly good home console PS Vita tiles are Assassin's Creed III Liberation and Street Fighter X Tekken.

I think that BioShock Infinite was a great title and I'd love to see a BioShock title on the PS Vita even if it is a Third Person Shooter. I am not preferred to First Person perspective games anyway although I do play them. I think that third person is the best but that is simply my opinion. I really enjoy TPS Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction, Uncharted 3, Uncharted Golden Abyss and Gears of War Judgement.

Re: Reaction: PS4 May Play Second Fiddle to PS3 This Year, But It Makes Sense

Lionhart

I think that Sony is actually making a very RISKY and yet shrewd move with their strategy for this Holiday season regarding the PS3/PS4. If things work out it actually could prove a financial success for Sony PlayStation because most of the people that I've been talking with are planning to buy a PS3 this Holiday season. I, personally am expecting Sony to do as Nintendo did with the WiiU and sell an inexpensive PS4 bundle ($249.99) and a premium PS4 bundle of about ($399.99). If Sony goes with an affordable PS4 bundle I'm definitely going to pick up a PS4 as I'm sure the new EA Games Star Wars titles will be stunning on the PS4. However, I'm still sad that the PS4 won't be backwards compatible with the PS3.

Re: PlayStation 4 Is Not the PS3's Successor, It's an 'Addition to the Family'

Lionhart

This is a relief although Sony has always supported past generation hardware unlike Microsoft and Nintendo who typically abandon their past hardware. Sony supported the PS2 throughout the PS3's run and now the PS3 will be supported in the wake of the PS4's arrival and that is only a good thing. I, myself and many others plan on buying and mainstaying with the PS3 until the PS4 has become established and develops a strong library. Our family is going to buy a PS3 at this year's Black Friday if it doesn't get a price drop this summer. It's also a blessing for them to keep the PS3 under support because the PS4 isn't backwards compatible with the PS3 software. @davitpr, nope, I disagree. I've always hated how Microsoft and Nintendo stop making software for past systems and I give Sony a high five for making software for the PS2 even after the PS3 came out. I hope Sony will CONTINUE to manufacture and license software for the PS3 even four after the PS4 has been out.

Re: Jak & Daxter Trilogy Continues the Hunt for Power Cells on PS Vita

Lionhart

I've never played a Jak and Daxter title before but I did play the standalone Daxter on the PSP and it was a blast. After playing Borderlands with my sister I'm wondering if the guys at Gearbox software grew up playing Jak and Daxter because what I just saw in the above trailer sent my mind directly back to Borderlands. I'm definitely going to stop by GameStop and pick this up come June.

Re: Talking Point: Why PS4's Social Features Probably Won't Be Free

Lionhart

I for one loathe Microsoft for charging for Gold simply to play online. Besides, I haven't much love for the XBOX and especially the GOLD Membership thing. I've always been a Sony PlayStation and Nintendo fan while I mean no disrespect to XBOX fans; I believe that Microsoft is milking money out of their LIVE customers and boy do they have too many fps shooters on the platform. I love and respect Sony and Nintendo for not juicing money out of our pockets for online services but I'm sure that Sony will keep most things free with the PS4 but there will without doubt be some sort of charge for the always online video and photo sharing because the bandwidth for all of that is most certainly expensive.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida Doesn't Want All PS4 Games to be First-Person Shooters

Lionhart

This is refreshing. It's a breath of fresh air because sincerely the video game market is over saturated with first person shooters. If you want to talk casual first person shooters then Gotham City Impostors and Borderlands 1 and 2 are the best options and I like and enjoy those games but we really do need a breath of fresh air. I would love to see more Japanese RPG's and platformerson both the PS4 and PS Vita in this new generation of gaming.

Re: Pachter: Sony Won't Make Money on the PlayStation Vita

Lionhart

@Moomoo, Well he is right on the part in regards to Sony not supporting the PS Vita in regards to software but I sincerely believe that Sony will remedy that problem this year. I remember when the haters and critics were downing the PSP and prophesying doom but in the end the PSP held it's own. I think that Sony also needs to cut the prices of the proprietary memory cards and that alone will be a much needed boost to the PS Vita.

Re: Pachter: Sony Won't Make Money on the PlayStation Vita

Lionhart

It's officially time for Mr. Pachter to go home and retire. The man has long last lost all grasp upon reality and common sense. The PS Vita does not suck and neither does the Nintendo 3DS. I own both the Nintendo 3DS and Sony PS Vita and I enjoy both immensely. Of course the 3DS has a lot more momentum but with games like Murasma Reborn, Dragon's Crown, Killzone Mercenary, Tearaway, Guacamalee and Secret Ponchos on the way things are definitely looking great for the PS Vita.
