Re: Dragon's Crown Trailer Punches Your Eyeballs with Pretty Graphics

Lionhart

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful video games that I've seen in a VERY long time. I am certainly going to pre-order it and hopefully the art book will be released with it here in the West.
However, I'm definitely appalled at some of the over the top sexualization in this game. I think it is really distasteful and unnecessary. I do pray that Atlus and Vanillaware will tone some of that down because it is on the verge of pornographic.

Re: Don't Expect to Raid Any More Tombs in Tomb Raider

Lionhart

The new Tomb Raider was a great play but I didn't fall in love with it like I did with the new DmC reboot. I think the main problem that I had with this new Tomb Raider is that it borrowed to heavily from Sony's Uncharted so much that it didn't feel like the Tomb Raider which I grew up with. Another flaw is they focused so much on distinguishing themselves from the past Tomb Raider games that they lost sight of the "fun" and it felt like yet another miserable rough and tumble brown video game with too much blood flying in combat.

Capcom kept the fun factor in DmC and the game remained colorful and stylish and even had an over the top adrenaline rush while Square Enix/Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider took itself far to seriously and felt kinda crabby at times.

Re: Secret Ponchos Probably Has the Best Name in PSN History

Lionhart

I really like this. In fact this is the first Western or Spaghetti Western video game that I've seen in a long time that I actually am willing to hand my money over for. I love the music and that animation in the cut scenes is really good. I wish for all the world that this was an actual anime as there is a dearth of both American and Japanese animated Westerns, heck Rango was a good movie. Anyway, I sure pray and hope that this game Secret Ponchos will be on the PS Vita because I'd love to download and play it on my Vita.

Re: Talking Point: Will PlayStation Home Survive the Transition to PS4?

Lionhart

All of this speculation in meaningless because people aren't going to dump the PS3 and embrace the PS4 readily. In fact I know that I am not going to buy a PS4 until at least two to three years after it has been out. The PS4 lacks a lot of what I was hoping for in a PS4 system. No backward compatibility with the PS3 disc is absolutely unforgivable. However, I'm just really setting in with the PS3. The PS3 is still young and relative and I see no need to embrace the PS4 now anyway.

Re: Star Wars: First Assault Is Currently Lost in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Lionhart

Disney has done well with their acquisition of Marvel Comics and I'm pretty sure they'll do well with Star Wars. I loved the TV series Star Wars The Clone Wars so I'm not pleased with them shutting that down because that was one of the most enjoyable animated productions for both adults and children. SW The Clone Wars had a nice balance of dark and serious themes mixed with good story telling and humor.

I did enjoy both The Force Unleashed 1 and 2 but I doubt that there will be a third game..

Re: EA Is Very Excited About PS4, But May Be Aligning with Microsoft

Lionhart

@rastamadeus You are right. Nintendo definitely knows what it means to appeal to EVERYONE. I think Sony has been trying to embrace a wider audience but almost every time they find themselves hitting and missing. Hopefully they'll get it together sooner rather than later but I do think they are a lot better than Microsoft which almost is exclusive nothing more than a shooter company. Heck, Halo and Gears of War are NOTHING but shooters with Fable being the only difference. I do think that Sony is headed in the right direction though as PlayStation All Stars was their attempt to mirror Super Smash Bros.

Re: EA Is Very Excited About PS4, But May Be Aligning with Microsoft

@Hydeks I agree. In fact I've always viewed the XBOX as a total and complete waste of time and money. I've disliked Microsoft XBOX ever since the day of it's dawning. I love PlayStation so much more now than ever before although I'm sticking with the PS3 until at least a year and a half into the life of the new PS4 because I've learned that you should never buy a computer/console in it's FIRST year of existence. Plus, I'm pretty sure that as with the PS2 Sony and Third Party companies will continue to support the PS3 for a couple more years. I'm also loving my PS Vita.

I also don't see why people would allow Microsoft to rob them the way they do with XBOX Live and Avatar Store and other expensive offerings. Sony PlayStation is so much more cheaper than XBOX Live and some stuff is free on PSN. Plus, Sony has more FUN! A lot of stuff on XBOX is singularly so called adult targeted while PlayStation has franchises that everyone can enjoy from Uncharted, MediEvil, Sly Cooper, Hot Shots Golf, God of War, Jak and Daxter, Heavenly Sword and so much more.

Re: Feature: Five Forgotten First-Party Franchises That Should Be Resurrected for PS4

Lionhart

My vote lies with MediEvil. I'd like to see a new MediEvil game with cross-play between the PS4 and PSVita. I did enjoy the Daxter game that came bundled with the PSP 2000 and I so I wouldn't mind a new Daxter title. I also enjoyed Ratchet and Clank Size Matters but I certainly agree that Sly Cooper needs to go away. I don't like the Sly Cooper franchise anyway, but Uncharted, Daxter, MediEvil and Ratchet and Clank are my favorites. Another, Sony property that needs to return is Fat Princess which needs a new game on PS Vita and PS4.

Re: Rumour: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Sailing the Seven Seas

Lionhart

I really liked the seafaring stages of Assassin's Creed III and since I'm more of the PS Vita guy I'm certainly hoping that this game will also be released on the PS Vita or at least have a side story on the PS Vita similar to what they did with Assassin's Creed III Liberation. I also hope that Sony and game developers continue to support the PS3 even after the PS4 is released. More importantly, Ubisoft needs to include serious online multiplayer in the next Assassin's Creed title on PS Vita that is identical to that of the home consoles releases because we don't want a flash facebook card game.

Re: Live: Watch The PlayStation 2013 Meeting Right Here

Lionhart

@dudey300 That would REALLY make me eat my beanie hat lol. It might be possible that Sony will unveil a PS Vita Slim but I can't imagine it since the PS Vita is already off to a mediocre run. I simply hope we just get new PS Vita games (i.e. Dead Space Vita) and maybe a new MediEvil game!

Re: Live: Watch The PlayStation 2013 Meeting Right Here

Lionhart

@Prof_Clayton I know right? I can't understand WHY Sony would price the PS4 higher than the WiiU. From what I've been reading Sony has been slapped by Nintendo in sells over and over again and it's time for Sony to man up and get a one up over Nintendo. The PS Vita is truly revolutionary and it's basically like having a PS3 in your pocket. ACIII Liberation was made using the same graphical engine as is used for Assassins's Creed on the PS3. Killzone 3's engine is being used to make Killzone Mercenary. Sony is so much more than Nintendo.
