Thanks to GP I got introduced to them, I doubt I would have even tried them without them being on a subscription service. So I am one of those people where it did help. Since playing them all I also bought them all, including all spinoff avalaible on modern systems and it became my favorite series of all time. Can't wait for Ishin, Gaiden and LaD 8.
It's not a deal breaker for me no. I'm playing A Plague Tale and Gotham Knights and in A plague tale I don't even notice it running at 30. What's more annoying for me personally and what does give me a headache is when a framerate goes up and down. I prefer a fixed framerate over something that keeps going up and down
On my ps5 it's Gotham Knights. I'm enjoying it thus far. Sure it isn't game of the year material but also isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. It's an enjoyable game. Also playing a bit of Atelier ryza here and there if I want something a bit more relaxing
On my Xbox it's a plague tale requiem. What a game... It's sometime hard to imagine this is just a Aa game. It looks absolutely stunning, the sound is very good and the gameplay is divers enough to make it very good. The 30 fps isn't noticeable at all in this game not even on action scenes. If the rest of the game is as good as this first part it might end up being my game of the year
@Kairu thanks for that shout out on the Ghostbusters game. Missed it while browsing the sale, Ill pick it up for the backlog hehe
I pre ordered it and am enjoying it. Like many others on here are saying it's a good game but won't make many too 10 of the year lists. But it's enjoyable for sure.
Reviews seem to be all over the place like i expected especially with all the mixed previews. Was pretty clear this game wouldn't satisfy everyone. I'm still getting it, from what i've seen and read it's exactly the game i would love and that's all that matters.
It's okish for me. Sure there are some great games but either I played them or can't play them. Only one I might try is dq heroes but normally not a musou fan
Atelier Ryza on my ps5. Pretty relaxing game. The alchemy system is also pretty easy to get into. Combat is active time battle basically which always gives you enough time to react and plan without things taking to long. It's my first ever Atelier game and will certainly be playing more after this.
On my Xbox it's Ni No Kuni. Very beautiful art style just a bit on the grindy side. Might put it on the side if Plague tale requiem releases on Tuesday.
Lindsey Stirling is such a great performer. I also absolutely loved her version of the Tales of Arise battle theme. The emotion she puts into her performances in both musical and movement ways are very good. Also i can't wait to play this game in just a few days
Not much that interest me. The games of the list I like I already own. I might try dq heroes but normally not a musou gamer. And the ac chronicles aren't playable on Ps5 appearantly otherwise I might have tried those
Normally i am a big fan of Saints Row absurdity, but man i am glad i skipped this one. ill wait until the game is done and for a huge discount to go play it.
On my ps5 it's mostly Saints row 4. Some open world over the top action. Was in the mood for it and it's enjoyable. Besides that it's Atelier Ryza as a more relax game. My first Atelier game. Until now I'm enjoying myself not that difficult to get into the alchemy and everything is well explained.
On my Xbox it's Ni no kuni. Very beautiful game but a bit on the grindy site will see if I will finish it or not.
Awesome then I can try it. I liked the first one so probably will like the 2nd one as well. Otherwise I probably would have bought it in a deep sale anyways
Pretty good games for people that are interested in them, just not for me. Not a fighting game player or a racing fan. But that's fine can't be something for everyone every month
On my ps5 I'm playing Atelier Ryza: Ever darkness and the Secret Hideout. My first ever Atelier game and I'm liking it. Very relaxing, wander around gathering stuff, fighting a monster here and there and brewing up stuff with alchemy that's needed for that. To also have something more action packed I decided to start up Saints row 4. Some over the top mindless action.
On my Xbox im continuing with Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch remastered. The game itself is a pretty standard monster collecting jrpg but the art style is so amazing. Made partially by studio ghibly.
Hope to have alle these finished for the packed 2nd half of October Gotham knights, Plague tale requiem, Star ocean 6 and p5r all are on my list and those all are in like a week of each other. And I got invited to the D4 beta as well so goign to be busy times
Some very good months. Having my eyes on Gotham knights, star ocean the divine force and God of war ragnarok to buy. Plague tale and p5r I'll play on gamepass. And I also got invited to the D4 beta which I guess also will be soon gonna be some busy months
@Gloamin I haven't played the other Alice game yet though but I think it's included in the version of Alice that's on gamepass. So I'll try that one after I finished Alice.
And yeah Nino Kuni has such a wonderful charm about it, like the studio ghibly art style. And it looks very relaxing in a lot of ways. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it.
Also enjoy Shadow of War, such a brilliant game, especially the nemesis system is so well done, wished more games had a system like that
On my ps5 I'm playing Spiderman Miles Morales through ps plus extra. Love the open world web swinging. And it's different enough from regular Spiderman to feel like a different game. I might also try the valkyrie elysium demo out.
On my Xbox im playing Alice madness returns creepy 3d platformer which I'm enjoying and normally I'm not the biggest platforming fan, the creepy atmosphere helps a lot. I also made a start on Ni No Kuni which I hadn't played yet. Looks very cool so hope I'll like it.
Totally fine with it. Can never have enough Kiryu. Icihiban is such a loveable character as well so great so see them together again. Sure the ending of 6 makes a lot less sense now, but that doesn't make the games any less enjoyable for me.
I couldn't imagine playing this game with dubs anyways. Even though I tried the English dub in like a dragon a bit to see how it was, I still play it with subs anyways. It does help not a native English speaker anyways so am used to subs.
I'm still on the fence on this one, I love the artstyle but the demo footage I saw the combat looked pretty generic,. So I might give the demo a try myself
Like i wasn't hyped enough already, this trailer makes it look even more amazing. The great thing is they didnt just simply remade the original, they added characters and more stuff from the games that released after the original Ishin. This looks like it;s going to be endless entertainment again like all the other games in the series, just can't wait for this.
Awesome, i was hoping for a demo for this game. It looked interesting in the trailers but don't know that much about the game yet, i only know its an action rpg and thats about it, so i hope the demo will tell me more about the game.
That explains why they were using "like a dragon" during the stream. I already knew about the Japanese name of the series and the studio name, but it wasn't clear the name change for the western games was a thing as well. It is going to confuse a lot of people. WIth the name change itself i'm fine, its still the same game series no matter what you call it. I wonder if they going to change it for the older games as well or if they keep it like it is now and try to make it clear for consumers it's the same series but with a different name.
It's not a game that interests me enough to buy it, but it's a game i'll gladly try on a subscription service. So i held off with it, knowing it would come to gamepass. And since it comes to ps plus as well i can now chose where to play it.
Good to see another Yakuza action game and Kiryu's story to not be over yet. I guess i now have a complete new top 3 of most anticipated games with 3 new games being announced, great day to be a Yakuza fan.
I'm so happy to see this one coming to the west. Ishin, Kenzan and Dead Souls are the 3 i wasn't able to play. SO seeing Ishin coming to modern consoles, made my day. 3 games announced on 1 day, good day to be a Yakuza fan
Hoped to see more of it, but considering its coming in 2024 explains a lot. Good to see that Kiryu story isn't over yet and hes back. Hes such an interesting personality and can't wait for this one!
By far my favorite part of the SoP. Couldn't see it live since it was so late, but i just watched it and wasn't expecting this to show up before the RGG showcase this afternoon. Can't wait for this and Yakuza 8 which will probably also will be announced this afternoon, instant day 1 for me, RGG never dissapoints me
@Beerheadgamer82 completely agree on Kaito stealing the show in Lost Judgment especially with the dlc, which was nice to have some more of that Kaito greatness.
On my ps5 I'm doing the new game plus on trials of mana, very nice jrpg. Working towards the platinum now. Have to do 3 playthroughs total for that but since the game isn't that long and you can skip cutscenes it isn't that bad.
On my Xbox im playing Alice madness returns. Normally not into platformers but the spooky atmosphere of this one is kinda brilliant. So that gives it a whole new dimension
@Korgon It shows up on that list on the 18th spot in the Usa and is not in the top 20 in Europe. Even though it was only out for about a week i dont think it did that well.
@darkswabber I havent played kenzan, ishin and dead souls since i dont have acces to older consoles, but love to see those revealed next to the release date of LAD 2. TBh i think we will only get some deep dive into LAD2 and a release date, but one can only dream right
@IonMagi that would only be true if a large part of all the cod players will move over to Xbox and that won't happen. Sure players will buy a Xbox instead of a playstation but the large part won't, so by not providing the people who stay on playstation with cod will then cost them money and for cod that means tons of money.
@IonMagi apples and oranges. Bethesda acquisition was always for the exclusivity as it was always communicated, besides those games don't even sell anywhere near the amounts of cod. Abk is to also get entrances into the mobile and pc market where they are still weak. Cod is by far the best selling game every year even if they make that exclusive they will never get enough players over to Xbox to get the same amounts of moneyas keeping it on Ps. @Shstrick the answer on your question as well. @tallythwack nobody knows how the business landscape will look like in 10 years. Will there even be consoles? How does the gaming market look by then? Short term contracts are more logical from a business sense since landscapes can change
And after those 3 years a new contract will be negotiated and signed again. Pretty normal business practices. Cod won't be exclusive after those 3 years that doesn't make any type of business sense at all
The essential games aren't my cup of tea so chances are very small I will play any of them soon. The extra and premium games for me are a lot better. Interested in chicory deathloop and never played a sly Cooper game so might try one of those out
On my ps5 I'm still working on Trials of mana doing the post game content. Enjoying it very much. At first I was doubting if it was something I would like but since it's on plus extra now I decided to give it a try and glad I did. I'll get the other mana games as well when they are in a sale.
On my Xbox im playing Brutal Legend. Was in for a bit of Tim Schafer greatness. Played it a bit on steam years back but never finished it. It's a funny action adventure game mixed with rts elements. And Jack Black is doing the main protagonist. And it has rock/metal music as well.
Doing a bit of season 27 of Diablo 3 with my wife as well on the pc, one of the few times I actually turn my potato pc on anymore lol
Never played it and already have the remastered version, so no reason to buy the remake, especially for a full 80 euros. I'll buy it when it's under 30 euros or something
If it gets announced with a date it will instantly become my most anticipated game. I love the entire series and LAD is the game that got me into turn based JRPG's. So bring it on!
@MasterVGuides @Korgon Ah thanks. I didn't know the Sky trilogy was another publisher. Well then i have to either play them on pc or watch some recap video. I own CS 1 -4 already but want to wait playing them after zero and azure release. I already saw there are 2 ways to play them and i think i will start with cs 1/2 before startingn the others.
@Korgon I really hope they will port the Sky games to modern systems as well like they are doing with Zero and Azure. The series looks very interesting, but don't really want to play games on my potato pc anymore and prefer to game on my ps5/xbox nowadays. So if besides those 2 we will also get the sky games this will open up the series for other people as well who dont really game on pc.
@SplooshDmg Yeah all Ys games can be played as stand alone. I looked into that when i played Ys8 which at the moment still is the only one i played. Thats especially nice for people late to the series.
Not really my type of games, but it's fine. We can't win every month like last month. At least i can add a racer and fighting game if i ever feel like playing or trying one.
I see a platinum as a bonus for spending extra time in a game I like. I'm not doing plats where there are mp or difficulty trophies and not doing cheap trophies like double dipping on ps4 and 5 versions or the shovelware on the ps store
@freddquadros i just did another hour today and then I felt I had to play something more relaxing again haha, maybe I'll try again later today. Normally I'm not patient enough for these kind of fights since I easily get frustrated but this boss just has to die I can't give up lol.
@Darude84 Good to hear. If the rest of the regular 13 is good I'll definitely will play both sequels as well. Glad to hear I'm not the only one enjoying that game
On my ps5 I'm going to bang my head against the Valkyrie queen again for the God of War plat. And to calm down I'm playing Trials of mana on Ps plus. Very relaxing old school style jrpg. Was exactly the relaxing experience I was looking for.
On my Xbox im playing final fantasy 13, which isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I'm enjoying it. Next to it I'm playing an hour a day of Elden ring to get a bit used to it. Basically doing a trial run atm.

I see a platinum as a bonus for spending extra time in a game I like. I'm not doing plats where there are mp or difficulty trophies and not doing cheap trophies like double dipping on ps4 and 5 versions or the shovelware on the ps store
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 441
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 441
Have a nice weekend all!
