I hate when devs do this or like the Highguard dev that bitched on Twitter last month. You are not going to change the perception of the people that don’t like your games, use that time to promote your game instead of making yourself look like a fool.
@WhoderMan it is hard to say if this is going to be complete on disc, Microsoft games with mandatory downloads are over 100 GB like Indiana Jones, Doom Dark Ages and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Some of their games below 100 GB like Gears of War and Ninja Gaiden are complete on disc. This game is around 60 GB on PC.
I really liked the first half of the first season of SAP, everything after that is garbage, so this game is a real surprise to me and got me interested.
@TheFakulty the people on this site who makes those comments are a drop in the bucket of the total PS users. I have seen way more people saying they are gong to double dip when the game releases on PC.
@TheFakulty and that’s not a bad thing, if they really like the games they will be more inclined to buy the console for the sequels to play them at launch.
@graymamba they have a studio exclusively dedicated to porting the games, it is not taking focus from Play Station.
You are all like the kid that after playing with their toys for hours and getting bored gets annoyed and start throwing tantrums when their brother/friend borrows them.
@graymamba In the end this doesn’t affect me, I don’t have a gaming PC just a PS5 Pro but I still believe this is anti consumer and I am really surprised most of the readers here agreed with this decision.
@TheFakulty yes you can, but why on earth do you want that feature to be removed? It’s not like the 1% or less of users that use it are going to lower PS5 sales by a significant amount.
@Deadlyblack I 100% agree with you, PS5 owners are not going to migrate to PC when the game are released there after a year or more of their original release, porting those games is not a threat.
@Balaam_ why would I be trolling? I don’t like to refresh two sites every time, NL and PS, and many times see almost the same article.
I started visiting these sites almost a year ago, mainly thanks to Nintendo Life's YouTube channel. Before that my to go site for gaming news was Destructoid before it turned the mountain of fecal material it is now, so the split format is something relatively new to me. At least it would be c
@get2sammyb that’s difficult to say because they have not put themselves in that position which is my issue with PlayStation, they are stepping back in a Pro consumer move they they did before.
@lazarus11 I am a PlayStation fan, but that doesn’t mean I will blindly applaud every wrong decision they make. And I don’t see the staff nor the readers of Nintendo Life with this level of fanboyism. Also I would prefer if this site, Nintendo Life and the others were just one site, I don’t see the point of having them split.
@RBMango you are so wrong, I applaud them for bringing their games to other platforms. When they bought Bethesda I was nervous for the idea of not being able to play their games but now not only I can play Bethesda games on my PS5 but also Gears, Stalker and Halo in the future.
Imagine if Sega didn’t become multi platform, they would be as big as they are now.
This article really show the fanboyism in this site. All these arguments also contradict themselves, one one hand you are saying the PC ports are driving people away from Play Station but on the other hand you are saying that porting games doesn’t make sense because these games don’t sale well on PC which by that logic should not drive away people from PS5.
Ubisoft has made a lot of sh¡t decisions this decade but I am grateful for these 60 fps patches for their older games, hopefully they update the older AC games including IV, and also the first two Watch Dogs games.
Isn’t this the third time you post this news? Also, I cannot believe the extreme fanboyism on the comments, this is not something good. These games were not hurting PS5 sales considering these were released a year later.
They should at least still release Yotei and Saros as sequel/spiritual successor to fans already released on PC.
Also I hope Xbox doesn’t follow suit because I like having Xbox games on my PS5.
I am glad, but also I feel bad for the developers. However this is a necessary tragedy that needed to happen so the big publishers stop trying to chase the Live Service Games Cow.
@lazarus11 I don’t, I prefer those games with better graphics and performance. However a lot of people prefer them portable of they don’t run like crap and will buy the S2 versions.
@lazarus11 yes but you are going to be able to play Pragmata and RE9 on Switch 2 and a lot of people will prefer to play it there rather than on PS5, so they are completion, just not as direct as Xbox.
I haven’t give a **** about Xbox consoles since the 360, and I only had a 360 because the PS3 was really expensive at first. However I am really glad they are porting their games nowadays to Play Station and Switch.
But despite that I don’t want their console business to die, even if their are the weakest rival, we need them to help put Sony in check, Nintendo and PC gaming are not enough.
@Divergent95 it’s like if the quality or the games doesn’t matter riiiight?
Or porting a game to another platform a year later and expecting similar sale numbers is reasonable, riiiight?
You don’t gain nothing for exclusives, specially for games that are not even develop by PlayStation Studios.
This piece of **** should be given the boot, not a whole studio. Bluepoint should be developing a Bloodborne remake while this idiot should be sending job applications.
It could have save the company almost the same amount.
PlayStation Studios was one of the developers I still had respect for but they can eat a satchel of Richards now.
Obviously this won’t last for 10 more years, “worst” case scenario new suppliers will rise or existing ones will increase their output to meet the new demand, and that’s not something bad.
That may be true but at the same time YouTube and Reddit, which I mostly use on mobile, have helped me discover many games which I wouldn’t discover otherwise.
Is Sony run by a bunch of inbreeds? They could have Bluepoint working on a Bloodborne remake for PS6 launch like they did the Demon's Souls for the PS5 launch but they decided to put the ok to work on a live service God of War game.
They should axe the people making those stupid decisions, not their developers.
If they want more money from me they should start releasing more games, and good games at that. Another option is to do more sales, yeah I would be paying less for discounted games but in the long run those would be games I was not interested in buying at full price.
If they increase subscription or game prices, or if they start doing more micro transactions they ca go F themselves.
@TheFakulty the only games 100GB+ that requires downloads that I am aware of are all Xbox published and some like Jedi Survivor. However games like FF7 rebirth, Bladur’s Gate 3 and Horizon FW Complete have a second disc with the rest of the data on it.
For the possible PS6 handheld maybe they can do a system similar to the virtual game share from the Switch but for physical games.
@nomither6 I hope for the day they stop charging for online play, it’s dumb that they do it when the F2P games don’t require a subscription to play online, and those are the most played games due to them being free.
@TheFakulty “I dont think hardly any big aaa games come fully playable on the disc” That’s not true, most of the games are playable once installed from the disc, there are day 1 patches but the game are playable without them.
There are exceptions where you have to download part of the game, like some Xbox published games, but those are the minority.

@StrickenBiged Phones are more useful than consoles, there is more expected value from them. Console are more of a premium item.
