Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage Patch 1.0.5 Finally Adds Option to Disable Chromatic Aberration

@Topov81 Not seeing that here.

I'm playing the PS5 version using the free upgrade from a PS4 disc if that's relevant. One PS5 save file at 44.05 MB. I've sorted the files by name to be certain.

Could you have created a save file on both the PS4 and PS5 versions? Transferred a save from PS4 to PS5 version?

I can see that I have two AC Unity PS4 save files, and that was because the disc version and the PS+ version were recognised as different games so created separate save files.

@Ravix You can use a thumb drive as long as it has enough capacity to take all your saves from every PS5 game. Agreed that it's not great that you can't select individual game saves, but if you're just experimenting with the one game then it would work as long as you don't play anything else. You can just choose game saves and deselect install data.

@Carl-G Settings->System Software->Back Up and Restore->Back Up Your PS5

When you have a USB drive connected (a separate one to a drive you may be using to store games) you can choose to just back up Saved Data. I think you have to do all games, you can't individually select games. You can also backup installed games, screenshots, video clips and system settings from there

Re: PS5 Owners Ponder What Sony Is Playing At with VRR

@heybren22 But you can backup all your game saves to USB, it's in the System Backup options. Admittedly it would be better if you could copy individual game files, but at least you do have the option to back up your saves without Plus cloud backup.

Re: Sony Thinks PS5's Storage Space 'Should Be Fine'

JimbobLink

The biggest problem, with PS4 I don't know about PS5, is the amount of free space you need to download updates. If you have a 75GB game that has a 5GB patch you need at least 80GB free space for it to create a full copy of the main install, patch it then replace the original files. You will be left with the 80GB free space afterwards, but you need to leave it free for subsequent updates.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida Shuts Down Xbox Boss' Comments on VR

I'm genuinely shocked at the way @rjejr is being treated in the comments here. This guy's been around for years and I'm always interested to read his comments, as he has interesting things to say. To accuse him of trolling is pretty disgusting when he's presented fully formed arguments. Debating is good, flat out dismissal or waving the rule stick because you disagree is wrong.

My take away from this is to go and give Labo VR a try with BOTW and SMO.

VR in my opinion is one of the biggest genuine "game changers" the video game industry has seen for a long time, and I've been gaming for 35 years.

Re: Feature: 5 PS4 Firmware Update Features We Need in 2018

I still want trophies to automatically sync online as you earn them (without having to click the trophies icon and watch the progress bar). Failing that, run a sync routine when in Rest mode to do it. The PS3 and Vita have had this for a long time. Xbox 360/One have always had immediate sync.

I do however think it's impressive that you can browse all your trophies from PS3/PS4/Vita, regardless of which console you earned them on. The Xbox 360 just gives you a total Gamerscore of what you've earned on Xbox One, i.e. no game breakdown.
PS4 trophy screenshots are nice too.

Regarding the PS Store, I think it's much better than the Xbox One store. I find it much easier to navigate, and the sales are always much easier to browse through. Sony get far more of my gaming money partly because of this. Their sales are usually far better price wise as well.

Re: Rumour: PS4 Slim Has an Overheating Problem? We Wouldn't Worry Just Yet

@Cron_13 Unless you bought it directly from Sony, your first port of call should have been the retailer. If you still have the faulty PS4, then you still could do this. Just bear in mind that the burden of proof will be on you to prove that it was a Day One fault.

I have used this legislation to have both an Xbox 360 and Xbox One replaced. In the case of the 360 it was replaced by Blockbuster in store after 11 months of use. The Xbox One was replaced by Microsoft after 18 months of use.

If you're in the UK, have bought an expensive console brand new and haven't mistreated it then you have every right to return it to the retailer for a repair/replacement/refund (in that order) if it goes faulty at any point up to six years after purchase.

If it's within six months, then the burden of proof that the item was not faulty at the start is on the retailer. After six months and up to six years, the burden of proof is on the consumer to prove that the fault was there at the start.

This is fully part of the UK Sale Of Goods Act, now partly replaced by the Consumer Rights Act, but not many people know about it. The proper document is hideous to read, but there's a really well written document in the House Of Commons library.

I used it to very good effect with Microsoft for a faulty console, but be prepared for an argument and attempts from the retailer to fob you off to the manufacturer.

Re: Rumour: PS4 Firmware Update 2.50 Will Enable External Hard Drive Back Ups

@Sir_JBizzle I used the UK equivalent of this http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Expansion-STBX2000401-2-5-Inch-Portable/dp/B00ILALU9G/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Cheaper than a bare drive on Amazon UK. I just prised open the caddy, took out the drive and installed it in the PS4. It was actually a Samsung Spinpoint drive inside. I put the old 500GB drive back in the caddy so it's usuable elsewhere once I format it. Then I thought I'd better keep the old drive safe until my PS4 warranty has expired in case it has to go back in to be returned if a fault develops.

Re: Hardware Review: PlayStation TV - Turn Off

As it stands, this box doesn't allow party chat when remote linking to PS4. If you're in a party on the LiveArea dashboard, it disconnects you as soon as you start PS4 remote play.

The best you can get when in PS4 remote play is a bluetooth headset/speaker to output other people's voice, you have no microphone facility.

And no, plugging the wired headset into the DS4 doesn't work at all.
