@Perturbator Or you could try one of the previous 16 Armored Core games through various means. Though, if you don't like mech games, you're probably not going to like AC.
Good? FromSoft was around and making games (some great some not so much) for years before Souls...I dunno what to say, sorry you're ignorant of their history and thought they only did the one thing?
I've seen like a dozen of these same articles today, like it's some kind of huge shocker that Armored Core SIX (actually SixTEENTH) is...[dramatic pregnant pause]...an Armored Core game.
I get that everyone is desperate for clicks but, come on...
Thinking I may finally sit my procrastinating ass down and play through Miles Morales. I've started it twice previously, but both times fell off just a couple of hours in. I like everything about it, but for whatever reason it just hasn't grabbed me like vanilla Spidey did, but I've gotta do it before Spidey 2. No time like the present!
@wiiware Ah beans, she doesn't look like a mid-90's porn star anymore, guess you'll have to find literally any number of other unrealistically proportioned, mostly nude, hyper-oversexualized fictional characters to fantasize over. Sorry about your luck, bruv ð¢
Baraka looks a bit slower than I would like, but, hot DAYUM, I am loving the reinventions of Le Mei and Tanya. Both of them look incredible.

"As far as specs are concerned, those, according to the report have been tough to obtain. However, two things that we do know are that the PS5 Pro will feature 18,000 MT/s memory and 30 WGP (workgroup processor)."
This all nonsense. These systems are using custom built unified memory modules that is shared between the CPU and GPU, they aren't comparable to consumer ram, so the on-paper spec doesn't actually mean anything.
"Performance targets for the PS5 include improved frames per second (FPS) as well as better FPS stability performance at 4K resolution, an 8K âperformance modeâ, and accelerated ray tracing."
This is also such obvious nonsense it's laughable. "Improved FPS", really? The current PS5 is more than capable of running everything on it at a high and consistent framerate, it's not on the hardware, it's on the developer to properly optimize their games. And 8K, not a chance in hell. A 4090 can't do 8K at playable framerates, but this sub-$1000 console is able to? Get ready to see 720p upscaled to 8K using terrible FSR (and I say that as an ardent AMD guy, but DLSS is superior in every way).
@Bez87 I really think people are getting their hopes way too high with the new model rumors. I can all but guarantee all it's going to be is a marginally smaller version of the all digital edition so they can streamline production and eliminate one of the SKUs, and sell the disc drive as an add-on.
Who knows, maybe they've reworked the entire cooling system, don't need a fan that's quite as gigantic anymore, and it will be crazy small, but I really think anyone expecting a super slim model and/or a model that's decently cheaper is fooling themselves.
Swing and a miss. They had a chance do some super, super cool designs for these, and just...didn't. Take that design, make the spider BIG and centered, half of it is the red suit with half being overtaken by the symbiote (and not those flat clipart looking tendrils, make them look slimy and give them some depth).
It's genuinely excellent, I've put in 26 hours and have had an absolute riot the whole time, but Capcom's terrible over-marketing that failed to paint the game in a good light and moronic decision to launch it at $60 is going to killing it (and IS currently killing it) in the crib.
I only played for a couple of hours last night, and I was bummed to see there wasn't actually a campaign, but it's fun! It is the exact same fun the betas were, which is fine, but it's absolutely not $60 fun, and I think that more than anything is what will kill it. Maybe Game Pass will help it out, but it's not likely to help enough.
It's is a free-to-play game in literally every way, just with a full retail price slapped on, and that's a bummer because there is something here that could have had legs if it were packaged and presented properly, but it unfortunately is not.
Guys...I get it, this is a PS site, so everything has to be viewed through the lens of what's good for Playstation...but framing the question as "What happens to Playstation if MS buys ActiBlizz" is just asking for bad faith, console wars nonsense.
Nothing that affects PS users in any measurable way happens. For the foreseeable future it will be business as usual because Microsoft HAS TO recoup that $70 BILLION they're spending, and they simply cannot do that by pulling stuff like CoD from PS platforms, and they've committed in writing to supporting PS platforms with ActiBlizz titles for AT LEAST the next decade.
The ONLY thing that happens in the immediate is Sony not being able to buy marketing or early access or exclusive items. That's literally it, nothing of any consequence.
There's a whole lot of what ifs getting thrown around, and sure, there's a lot of stuff Microsoft COULD do, but it's going to be a long time. Especially after all the pushback they've gotten because of this deal (and the Bethesda deal), MS is going to have to be real, real careful about what they decide to do going forward. They're going to play nice with everyone for as long as they have to, because it benefits them to do so.
FWIW, I enjoyed the betas way more than I expected to. The MP modes seem like a lot of fun, and the little taste of the campaign they had in the last beta I liked quite a bit. I don't think it's going to be huge or have much legs, but I do think the people that dig it are really gonna dig it.
@Nepp67 You know GP is also on pc, so you don't even need an xbox, right? Also because I play games everywhere and when it's a choice between paying $70 for a game I'm iffy about on one platform vs essentially free on another, I'm going to make the logical decision and go for the latter. I'm aware this is a PS site, I wasn't aware we weren't allowed to even acknowledge the existence of other platforms...
@Nepp67 LOOKS terrible...so you haven't played it, then? Good news for you, it's on game pass, so you can try it out for yourself and make an informed opinion.
@WhensDinner I mean...sure, but AI is one of the big linchpins in the current WGA Strike, and an even bigger part of the SAG-AFTRA strike that's likely starting within the next few days. We're not going to be waiting long to see AI clauses in contracts if creative industries want to keep churning out content to make them money.
@Mio_Nakashima Yes, please throw all your money at this awful abomination...that's on game pass, for free (if you pay for game pass) on 2/3rds of the platforms it's launching on.
@WhensDinner "If I use your voice as training data, does that give you a legal right to take down the results of that AI model?"
Are you using that data as part of a commercial project you intent to monetize? Are you using it in a malicious or unseemly manner? Are you using it in any way that those results could actually be confused for the actor or actress it was trained on and cause them harm (personal or professional) or to lose work?
If the answer to any of those questions is "Yes", then the answer to your question is also yes.
Why didn't they lead with this? It's not a great trailer, it still looks bad...but it looks like the fun kind of bad. That clip they showed at SGF or wherever it was a while back just looked not-fun bad bad.
Your words: "Monster Hunter Rise is on game pass and was there on the first day."
That statement, without the caveat that by "first day" you meant first day on Xbox, is factually incorrect. This is a text medium, don't assume everyone will understand your intention.
@Dr-M Mainly because of the extremely over-the-top anime style cutscenes that people felt weren't in-line with the tone of the game and because of a rumor that Kojima said he hated it.
There's no evidence of him ever having said that, though it still gets passed around, and he personally hand-picked the director and expressly told him he didn't want the cutscenes to be 1:1 recreations and to make the cutscenes as crazy as they ended up.
Personally, I think Twin Snakes is fine. It plays better, but I don't think it holds up as well graphically as the original, and I do think the cutscenes are a mixed bag. Some are better than the original, some are on par, some or worse...overall, I enjoy it, but I don't think it's as consistent as the PS1 original.
If you have never played them and this collection will be your first foray into Metal Gear, please do not play them in chronological order.
If you start with MGS3 then try and jump into NES Metal Gear, I can all but guarantee you will not finish it, and will fall off the series entirely.
In fact, I would suggest skipping Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, and Snake's Revenge entirely and stick exclusively to the Solid series and play them in release order. If you enjoy those, then maybe go back and try the originals.
If any of y'all think Sony and Nintendo aren't exploring and proposing potential mergers and acquisitions every single damn day, you have literally no idea how business works.
This is not eye-opening, this is not a bombshell, it's run-of-the-mill, routine business.
@Kenshir0 I think we're in a space now where they want to keep the remake train rolling, but they're running out of options.
Do they remake RE1, again, in the same style as RE2/3/4? Do they try and reimagine RE5 (which does NOT hold up) into something a little less gross? Do they stop trying to force live-service multiplayer PvP into a series that absolutely does not need it and go back to the Outbreak-style multiplayer PvE everyone wants them to? Do the finally get off their asses and stop ignoring CODE: Veronica (I've theorized they don't recognize CV because it was developed externally)?
I still think it's a huge missed opportunity that they stuck so close to the originals and didn't use these remakes as an opportunity to soft reboot the series so they could clean up and streamline things, similar to what Square is doing with FFVII remake(s).
Y'know, it strike me as very odd that the only complaint a very vocal minority have about RE2r is Ada's voice acting, when she has relatively little to actually do or say in the campaign and can so easily be ignored...especially when Sadler is right there with his weird, seemingly random shifts between American, British, Australian, and sometime Spanish accents for no discernable reason...yet, no one is bothered by that. Not to mention how bad voice acting is a cornerstone of the brand, and at some point it seems like Capcom made a creative choice to have at least one character with purposefully terrible dialogue and perhaps intentionally "poor" acting (Steve in CV, Quint/Keith/Raymond in Revelations, Moira in Revelations 2, etc, etc). Not saying that's what happened with Ada. Also...come on...Leon is not a badass, he's a well trained himbo that barely has more than two brain cells to rub together.
Regardless, I'm not going to convince you of my standpoint any more than you're going to convince me of yours, so let's just leave it and agree to disagree.
She's a fictional character, she can talk however the writers/voice over director WANT her to talk. You're free to not like her performance for whatever reason, but she did a perfectly fine job with the material she was given to work with.
@Constable_What That movie is an insulting disaster, top to bottom. The direction is pathetic, the script is actual garbage, the effects are worse than a Sci-Fi original, everyone in it is terrible, and it achieved the unthinkable...making me miss the Paul W.S. Anderson films, which I hate with every fiber of my being.
Tom Hopper, Hannah John-Kamen, Kaya Scodelario, Neal McDonough...all good to great actors, all terrible in WTRC. There is nothing redeemable about that film and Lily Gao inarguably makes out the best simply because she has so little screen time and so few lines.
Anyone complaining about Ada's VO is so used to Anime-style, incredibly over-the-top, extremely exaggerated performances that anyone speaking in a regular cadence or giving an understated, natural performance sounds "bad".
So...hang on, Sony's big complaint originally was that if MS gets Activision they could make Call of Duty exclusive...despite how absolutely asinine that would be to recouping that $69 Billion purchase.
Now they're saying they will flat out refuse to give Activision dev kits for future consoles...which would effectively force MS to make CoD Xbox exclusive (ignoring the streaming/Nintendo versions, as everyone will).
Jim Ryan is an absolute c*** and I do not understand how anyone takes that man seriously or how/why he's in charge of a multi-billion dollar company.
@LordBakemono My man, learn to understand context. When I say demos take the same things as a full game, I mean they take the same THINGS, i.e. time/money/resources...not the exact same AMOUNT of those things. When devs build a demo, they use all of the same processes and pipelines they use to build a full game, and MOST teams don't have the bandwidth to do both simultaneously. So, obviously, they either have to stop working on the game to develop a demo, or the demo has to be outsourced to a separate team. That's the reality of the business and developers literally spent the last 20 years complaining about E3 demos because they add an extra 6-12 months of development time and crunch that they don't want to deal with.
@Volsung_Fjorgynnson No, they absolutely should not.
Demos require either an entirely separate team to produce, or the devs have to stop working on the game itself to make a demo. It's not just copy/paste a section of the full game. A demo is, for all intents and purposes, a game on its own that require all the same things a full game requires.
@twinspectre90 Dude...this is a 40-60 hour game, a few extra costumes add nothing of actual value and are only there to prey on the collector mentality for people who feel like they need EVERYTHING. They're not extra missions, there's not more story or a bigger map, it's JUST costumes. If you want to pay extra for what is essentially nothing, go right ahead, but don't talk trash on people who don't care to actually spend more for less.
I might be in the minority, but after seeing them all, I do not like any of the extra suits. Maybe I'm just too attached to the defaults (or the comic/mcu costumes, if they're still in), but they look a bit too overdesigned and un-Spider-Man to me. I'm honestly fine not having any of these. Just give me some cool Spider-Verse, MCU, and comic accurate suits, and I'll be happy.
I don't need to see any more of Exoprimal, and don't have any interest in Ghost Trick or DD2, but I'm happy for the surprises and for the folks who are excited for these titles.
Outside of Spidey, obviously, Snake Eater would be the clear winner if I had literally any faith whatsoever in Konami. They've confirmed it's being developed by Konami internally, with Virtuous on support, so...that's not great news.
I guess, ultimately, the only game that actually got me excited that I wasn't anticipating is Alan Wake 2, which looks excellent, and I didn't even like the original.

Re: New Resident Evil 4 PC Achievements Indicate More Content Is on the Way
@Nepp67 "That's not the way Ada talks..."
She's a fictional character, she can talk however the writers/voice over director WANT her to talk. You're free to not like her performance for whatever reason, but she did a perfectly fine job with the material she was given to work with.
Re: New Resident Evil 4 PC Achievements Indicate More Content Is on the Way
@Constable_What That movie is an insulting disaster, top to bottom.
Re: New Resident Evil 4 PC Achievements Indicate More Content Is on the Way
Anyone complaining about Ada's VO is so used to Anime-style, incredibly over-the-top, extremely exaggerated performances that anyone speaking in a regular cadence or giving an understated, natural performance sounds "bad".
Re: Sony 'Can't Risk' Sharing PS6 Details with a Microsoft-Owned Activision
So...hang on, Sony's big complaint originally was that if MS gets Activision they could make Call of Duty exclusive...despite how absolutely asinine that would be to recouping that $69 Billion purchase.
Now they're saying they will flat out refuse to give Activision dev kits for future consoles...which would effectively force MS to make CoD Xbox exclusive (ignoring the streaming/Nintendo versions, as everyone will).
Jim Ryan is an absolute c*** and I do not understand how anyone takes that man seriously or how/why he's in charge of a multi-billion dollar company.
Re: No Plans for a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Demo, Says Insomniac
Re: GTA 6 Speculation Further Inflamed After Rumored Voice Actor Returns to Tease a Reveal
"meeting Keanu Reeves (Cyberpunk 2077âs voice actor)"
Actually hilarious that that guy thinks he needs to explain who Keanu is, and does so in just about the worst possible way.
Re: No Plans for a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Demo, Says Insomniac
@LordBakemono that totes am true bro XD
I'm begging all of you, learn even the tiniest sliver of how development works before running your mouths.
Re: No Plans for a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Demo, Says Insomniac
@Volsung_Fjorgynnson No, they absolutely should not.
Demos require either an entirely separate team to produce, or the devs have to stop working on the game itself to make a demo. It's not just copy/paste a section of the full game. A demo is, for all intents and purposes, a game on its own that require all the same things a full game requires.
Re: Hideo Kojima Clarifies Involvement in Death Stranding Film Adaptation
@HotGoomba Because he made it himself, in MGS1, back in '98.
Re: You'll Need Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Digital Deluxe Edition for Those Extra PS5 Suits
Re: You'll Need Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Digital Deluxe Edition for Those Extra PS5 Suits
@twinspectre90 You mean WAY back, when we paid anywhere from $60-$100 for games that were 3 hours long, had no unlockables, and zero replayability.
Re: You'll Need Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Digital Deluxe Edition for Those Extra PS5 Suits
Re: Here's the Stellar Lineup You Can Expect at Capcom Showcase Next Week
I don't need to see any more of Exoprimal, and don't have any interest in Ghost Trick or DD2, but I'm happy for the surprises and for the folks who are excited for these titles.
Re: Feature: PlayStation Showcase Biggest Winners and Losers
Outside of Spidey, obviously, Snake Eater would be the clear winner if I had literally any faith whatsoever in Konami. They've confirmed it's being developed by Konami internally, with Virtuous on support, so...that's not great news.
I guess, ultimately, the only game that actually got me excited that I wasn't anticipating is Alan Wake 2, which looks excellent, and I didn't even like the original.
