@nomither6 PS2 was my go to console for third party and Sony didnt have the first party it does now.

PlayStation isnt my main ecosystem today so good point PS2, PS4 and PS5 ending strong so will definitely wait with PS6 cheers mate lol.

Like PS4, PS5 should end with a bang.

But two generations in a row now, its clear to me the best time to invest in a PlayStation is the end of the generation and catch up on 6-8 SP exclusives they have produced.

Days of fomo have gone for me, the only fomo I have is Fable, not even GTA.

Honestly this is why the gaming industry could die.... and I wouldnt care anymore. During PS2, Xbox, GC and earlier not a SINGLE gamer would mention sales. It would be like wanna play Halo on Xbox, PES on PS2 or Smash Bros on GameCube..... and we would just play, its meant to be a fun hobby.

Starting from the middle to late 360, PS3 gen (and since being able to watch videos and communicate with a nation obsessed with capitalism and corporate enterprise, wont mention any countries ill just keep that between US) "GAMERS".... Have become absolutely obssesed with sales..... acting like they have shares in this company.

Even this site.... writers fueling console wars because they took so much crap during the PS3 but behaving in your proffession like you walked in on your Mum with somebody wearing an Xbox shirt and thats why your Dad left is not the way to behave or show you care about the industry.

"Gamers" talk competition but when a new competitior or a company clearly rebooting to the point I expect the next Xbox to be simply called XBOX, they panic because they dont want the Status Quo to change ALLOWING a Sony to bring out crap and your going to like because they will just look at you go "What are ye gunner do, get an Xbox"

Honestly the moment I start to worry about sales and stop playing games for fun, honestly just take me out back, no blindfold needed.

Where Xbox has its Fable, Halo, Gears and Forza and can 100% see a reality in the not to distant future where Sony 1st Party is Marvel games, God of War, Horizon, Gran Turismo wth hopefully Sucker and Naughty Dog being the exception.

Well going off their comments recently is this is the plan they wont need all them extra developers working on PS5 ports.

Can see this being absolutely brutal but its claimed marketing will be hit heavy which confuses me because I didnt think they had one.

Ive literally seen people on here both commentors and article writers talk about how PlayStation needs competition to keep it honest.

The moment Xbox reboots and goes again crying and tears everywhere. Anxiety has truly gripped the gaming world at the possibility a sleeping giant may have awoken under new leadership and all the points getting made by previous leadership may no longer be valid.

Have to say..... the fall out on this site and its comment section over Xbox taking some of its games back has been HILARIOUS..... Fully grown Men and Woman clearly upset and even the tone in some of these articles but hay dont mind me lol

Its a shame to see but not shocking to see so many "Gamers" and I use that phrase lightly call for an iconic studio that put this hobby on the map be thrown under the bus when so many of the developers from even Combat Evolved still work there.

Id say shame on you but clearly many of you have none. Bungie clearly had a Parsons Problem and Sony payed well over the odds for them, but Destiny 2 was a special game with a fantastic community. With the Standard of gamer playing multiplayer games these days thats no small feat (Looking at you Overwatch, horrendous player base) but Destiny 2 should have ended with final shape but we knew Parsons personal game.

Even with Marathon, the community in that game is brilliant and the quality of that game is unbelievable, up there with presision from ND, Supermassive and Polyphony.

Bungie should be starting a new game and as much as the PlayStation Community talk Resistance, Killzone and Warhawk, the community never supported them, so lets see a new ip Bungie, put them genre topping shooting mechanics to the test in a new franchise.

Easily my most anticipated coming to PS5 this year (Hopefully). Just not feeling the GTA hype whatsoever (yet)

As a former bleed green Xbox gamer if they did this I would go home..... Heck might even go home sooner. The Pro is a brilliant machine but Saros is £70 worth a let down and the only two games Ive really enjoyed on PlayStation is Marathon and Helldivers which ironicly I could buy on Xbox.

Plus I think am closer to gaming retirement thanks to my career so I might just go down with the ship haha

The is sites commentors are hysterical. In one article, without reading said article mind you say PlayStation need to be giving us more first party then in this article use every excuse under the sun (pun intended) as to why you wont buy it.

The reality is Sony could just have Naughty Dog, Polyphony, Santa Monica and Insomniac and continue doing absolutely just fine. You are the lowest common denominator and praising Steam who cant even launch a controller properly mind you does nothing to swing things. PSN still makes hands over fist more.

For someone who puts money were their mouth is Saros is a gameplay masterclass but if indeed it is Houses last game, PlayStation will be just fine.

One of the few and the proud that think UC3 is the best. UC4 has horrendous pacing issues but an all timer in visuals my word

Boys and Girls, I want to offer you something..... this site especially. The word is Sony failed at live and while one sold the other never they arguably made the best two live service games this gen in Helldivers 2 and Marathon.... Dont get to angry its the weekend 😚

After this generation I will be very resiliant to jump to next gen straight away. Right now with my Pro I dont play games like Requiem or Forrbidden West and say...... ye this could look a lot better. Am very happy with the product right now.

What I NEED is for these companies to figure away to getting back to PS3 where we are seeing whole trilogies release on a single generation, not this and that was Sucker Punch see you guys on PS6 energy.

@headmold Possibly aswell Sony have seen significant jump over to PS5 from Xbox users, myself included. Also the RAM issue is making PC a harder platform to choose no matter how good a Steam sale is

@get2sammyb And if PS6 is not going to be due until around 2030, exclusives become even more important for PS5s longevity.
