Re: Feature: 6 Things You Need to Know About Assassin's Creed Syndicate on PS4

Dual-shock-spok

There are too many games coming that deserve my attention and will be a breath of fresh air like mad max, just cause, if fallout comes this holiday, persona 5, halo 5, tomb raider, starwars, etc. these annual releases may have to take a back seat! There will be a couple of new and fresh ips worth exploring to get caught up in AC, IMO. When the price hits 30 bucks I'll take the dip if it reviewed well.

Re: Store Update: 1st April 2015 (Europe)

Dual-shock-spok

Gonna pick up dark souls 2!! Bloodborne has made me a fan! I'll play it after bloodborne. I just hope bloodborne hasn't ruined dark souls for me. I like bloodbornes faster combat a lot! But I'll take advantage of the current gen re-release!

Re: People Are Looking for a Reason to Hate PS4's The Order: 1886, Says Ready at Dawn

Dual-shock-spok

2 legit reviews so far are 15/20 (7.5 ) and 89/100

So take that as you will. I'm supporting R@D keeping my preorder. Here's to part 2 correcting what ever issues gamers have with it. I know this isn't a fair comparison price wise. But people can play tell tale games and enjoy the experience. If the order combined tps gameplay with that tell take style of story delivery (QTE's.) why not give it a chance? I'm not rich. I don't have money to burn. But every month since it's announcement it's been something else negative. Now it's length thx to some you tuber. 2 positive reviews so far claiming longer than 5 hours.

Re: We Need Different Types of Games, Says The Order: 1886 Developer

Dual-shock-spok

All this negative press over this game is unfortunate. The title was "the walking dead" the moment they announced it was single player. I'm keeping my preorder and I'm going to make my own decision, of it's that bad/short, I'll make good use of gamestops trade in policy then and put it towards my bloodborne preorder. If I like the experience, I'll simply keep it in my collection to revisit the game every once in a while. That you tuber that posted the play through has single handedly given every negative nancy something to grasp at. I'm sure the order haters feel greatly satisfied with the events this weekend. Prepare for the ps4 has no games argument to continue. Greatness awaits.....still.

Re: Sony's Approach to Indies Is Good for the Entire Industry

Dual-shock-spok

Hmmm, so which is it? Nobody wants 8 bit retro indies, at the same time when a game like the order 1886 blows away any other game graphically people seem to not want that either, then "they" go for the revolutionary gameplay argument I personally have not seen yet on current gen, except when it comes to some indies that can afford to take risks with gameplay. The reality is people don't know what they want. The internet has ruined the simple enjoyment of games. Last gen, I wouldn't be caught dead with an independent game on my hard drive. At the same time, I never gave any a chance. Ps4 has changed my attitude for the better via ps+ giving me an opportunity to try some out. Now I love them! Games are games. Hot line Miami, apatheon, transistor, and I can't wait for axiom verge!! No mans sky looks like hours of fun living out my child hood dream of hopping in a space ship and heading towards the stars in search of mysteries to reveal and adventure, that game is something I can leave on my hdd and revisit infinitely inbetween major releases. Hell blade is another independent game! Heck! Technically I could make a game and self publish it on ps4! Amazing, IMO. I dont understand the cherry picking of what makes a game a "game" and others "not."

Re: Feature: Should You Buy Dying Light on the PS4?

Dual-shock-spok

Yea, I have this game on my xboxone, saving hdd space for the order and bloodborne. This game is tons of fun so far, I could recommend it, actually! It's dudebro Mirrors edge meets dead rising, that gets mid evil when it's dark! Lots of fun. And be the zombie mode is fantastic fun also.

Re: Talking Point: Are Bigger Open Worlds Really Better?

Dual-shock-spok

Open world, has become the "new" first person shooter. Over saturation is unavoidable. You can also be easily overwhelmed and never truly do everything that's available unless it's your only game and you have the time to sink in. I like linear games more. There is a definitive end and you can move on feeling accomplished. When it comes to open worlds i often find myself saying "i only beat the story".

Re: Here's a Quick Glimpse at PS4 Hack-'n'-Slash Hellblade

Dual-shock-spok

I've always said, the indie studios are really going to lead the way this gen, while the publisher owned studios will be forced to crank out AC,COD, and battlefield, year in and out, these independent devs will be free to create, and my eventually be the. " big name " studios. Look at hello games! Or the game, wild! I like sonys approach. They may not have the corporate bucks to hang with MS financially, but I bet my ps4, a real game changer is gonna come out of the indie scene. No mans sky and hell blade are just the beginning of what's possible when a team of developers can just create, as opposed to making games by checking off a list: FPS ? Check, open world? Check! Multiplayer? Check! DLC???? Double check!!! Lol. It was a good decision to let devs self publish their titles, I mean, if I knew how to code, I could maybe get my game on ps4!! That's a game changer in itself for the little guy who one day could create the next big game down the line, IMO.

Re: Preview: The PS4 Exclusives of 2015 - The Order: 1886

Dual-shock-spok

Day one for me. It has all the elements that I love about gaming. Single player, story driven, action title.
R@D has a lot of old naughty dog guys there, and Santa Monica backing them up, I really don't see how this game will dissapoint me!! If I can play destiny, AC unity, and Watchdogs, I can give the order a shot. R@D at least gives off the impression that they care deeply about their "baby".

Re: Dying Light's Retail Release Will Not Deploy Until 27th February in Europe on PS4

Dual-shock-spok

More good news for the order 1886, coincidentally. It's like things are happening to make the title the only thing appealing in the first qt of 2014, first the witcher, bloodborne, and now dying light? Wow, just move out the way huh? Lol. Dying light wasn't in my list really. I'll probably get it for Xbox. There's a lot to play on ps4, got to spread the love out, if I decide to purchase it. Just tired of zombies.

Re: Can You Handle This DmC: Definitive Edition Gameplay Clip?

Dual-shock-spok

The gameplay in this was sensational. I've preordered my copy and don't mind double dipping on improved versions of games I enjoyed. Especially with the dlc included!!
Some mindless hack and slash and a few more trophies to the list!! My gaming is gonna be complete this year! So much to choose from !!

Re: Opinion: Why You Shouldn't Write Off PS4 Racer DriveClub

Dual-shock-spok

I'm no racing fan, but I bought drive club for 40 bucks during the holidays, it's a good arcade racer!! I don't think Sony /evolution did this maliciously, the delays were for a reason, they could've released a broken game in the beginning, but they tried to rectify the issues, a lot of other publishers don't even do that! People joke on Sony saying delay station and what not. But you can't have it both ways! They delay in an attempt to releases a better product. That's why I bought the game. I believe evolution was humbled by the support of fans, I doubt they sat back grinning saying, "suckers!" The game is gorgeous and plays nicely, I don't play it often, but I like it when I do. Part 2, should be an even bigger affair.

Re: These PlayStation Experience Attendees Are Hyped for The Order: 1886 on PS4

Dual-shock-spok

I'm being slaughtered by negative press on the net for this game. I just hope it's good. I'm still keeping my preorder, but the bashing is rediculous at this point. It should I say, "warnings" lol. Oh well, I hope R@D can pull off come back of the gen with this title. Every preview seems down on it sadly. All it can do now is either confirm the previews or pleasantly surprise I'm afraid.

Re: PS4 Exclusive The Order: 1886 Explores Its Dark Side

Dual-shock-spok

@Gamer83 well from what I've seen theirs qte, mini games, puzzles, stealth, and 3rd person shooting. Nothing new, no, but if done right, and supports an amazing narrative I'm not getting why "this" game is being held responsible for innovating the genre, is all I'm saying. It just sounds like a bunch of nit picking, IMO. And I doubt ready at dawn is trying to emulate a quantic dream control scheme for the order, but, as you said we will see!

Re: PS4 Exclusive The Order: 1886 Explores Its Dark Side

Dual-shock-spok

This isn't a cash grab title. Ready at dawn are crafting this game with love, all that work, all that time out in this game, I find it hard to believe it'll suck. I just think most people don't agree with their design decisions, but there is a huge piece of mystery to this title. If also like to add people commenting on cutscenes yet nobody has an issue with metal gear, a series littered with them, when you skip the cutscenes in mgs games you realize how little game play there actually is, yet not one complaint! I'm not trying to give R@D a free pass, just stating this game has been unfairly critiqued since inception and I just don't get it. I personally think this is a story driven adventure game like uncharted or the last of us, more so than a "pure" 3rd person shooter like gears of war. I hope it reviews well so ready at dawn can continue their vision of this world with sequels, but I have an overwhelming feeling that, the 6/10's are already written and waiting for this games release sadly, regardless, I'm excited and will be getting this game day one. My expectations are tempered and I want ready at dawns product to either impress me, or let me down in its own merits, not what some journalists opinion of the game is. I heard good and bad press coverage for the order, it's up to us as gamers to research and decide if it's for us as gamers or not. Personally, this is my type of game. It's like ready at dawn made it just for me! Cutscenes and all, the only thing high reviews scores can do is validate the purchase on a community level, if it gets low scores, prepare for the ps4 has no games argument to continue. A shame and sad, but that's the internet for you. Hopefully this game can be judged for what it does well, what it is, and not be bashed in reviews for being what it's not (open world, co-op, multiplayer, etc)!
Sorry for the wall of text.
