How can you tell that it's a slow news day? Here's a hint: we're turning a photo taken at the Taipei Game Show into a full article. The snap, uploaded by Twitter extraordinaire Shinobi602, gives us our first glimpse at one of The Order: 1886's more open environments, as it shows protagonist Galahad seemingly stomping the streets of London without a corridor in sight.
Ready at Dawn did promise that there'd be sections like this in the full release when it dropped a similar piece of artwork a while ago. This, of course, means that there's still hope that the studio's been deliberately acting coy during the title's dicey build up to deployment in order to maintain a sense of surprise. All will be revealed imminently, as the game's due out next month.

The Order 1886: Where the streets have no name.
let this be open world. PS4LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a feeling this game isn't going to deliver on what a lot of people want, I hope Im wrong, but I doubt that I am. It certainly looks great in the graphics department, although Im not sure about the letter box style. The story seems interesting too, but from what I've seen of the game play it doesn't look that good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the devs, Sony and all those who purchase The Order 1886 on day one. I myself will wait for the reviews.
It will be 400km2.
Wait, wrong game.
@3Above
Is that a Cheers reference?
@Punished_Boss_84
That would be "where everybody knows the street names"... er uh, "where the streets all know your name"?
The 1 game this year i really hope doesn't get slagged off 'when it comes out' is this game(most of the time it's just negative stuff from gaming press about this game) :-/ + I want to buy this day 1(to support the game makers) but at £49.99(or Amazon £49.00) it just cost to much Oh well.
@WARDIE. What do people want? I think we can speak for ourself. Story and some good scares. That is what i want.
@Punished_Boss_84 its a song by U2. Where The Streets Have No Name.
@SuperSilverback @JaxonH
Complete opposite then.
Deus Ex Human revolution was mostly corridors, but it was free roaming and it was done very well. So if a corridor shooter with little to open roaming can be done before, it can be done again. I think this game may deliver to a lot of people looking forward to it. I know that there are going to be people that are going to hate this game that most likely already hated it before they got to play it. It happens all the time with big games being announced and shown.
My thing is, the better the graphics, the less gaming content there seems to be or less gameplay.
FYI: The term 'Corridor Game' doesn't literally mean the game is played throughout indoor corridors.
That image does nothing to dispel the idea that this will be a close quarter corridor game.
I have nothing against games like this though so I hope this turns out to be really great.
This game went the opposite of evolve for me. Evolve I wanted badly until the delay/more news came out, now it's a no buy for me. The order was off my radar until about 2 months ago, my only worry being the gears of War game play isn't my cup of tea. By that I mean slow moving, feeling like everything is stuck in mud mechanics. Il be getting this because it's only looked better and better every time i see it. Hopefully I'm not disappointed.
@WARDIE I want third person cover shooting, Neo Victorian London, secret societies, conspiracy, aaaaannnndddd, werewolves! Oh, some freaky weapons and story. If I get those things, I think I'll be satisfied.
@Dual-shock-spok If we get all that and some good game play I'll pick this up. I really do hope this is a good game.
@Sanquine I didn't say I was speaking for everyone nor was I speaking on your behalf. I was speaking about how I feel and a tonne of my friends and various others who have voiced some concern on what we have seen so far. A few of my friends were lucky enough to actually try The Order and they was disappointed from what they had played. But like I said before, Im keeping my fingers crossed.
To answer your question though, I think people want a good, solid first party game that is worth the £50 price tag games carry these days.
