The problem with constantly crying wolf is that no one is able to believe a word that you say. Sony seemingly hinted at Metal Gear Rising 2 during a Taipei Game Show montage over the weekend, but speaking with journalist Geoff Keighley, senior producer Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi said that it's not true. Of course, we've been here before with both Silent Hills and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Asked what the teaser was referring to – which showed a number '2' in an almost identical font to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – a flummoxed Imaizumi suggested that it was part of a countdown in the platform holder's promo. According to the executive, the teaser also included sound bites of people saying "one" and "three".
As such, we'd recommend putting those hopes of a Platinum Games developed sequel on ice until something's officially confirmed. However, given Kojima Productions' track record, there's every possibility that it's just trying to throw us off the scent. Either way, if the game wasn't in development before, the excitement surrounding its 'reveal' may just be enough to get it greenlit for real.

I don't know for me they're just hiding until further announcement, the 2 looks too much MGR.
On the off chance this is serious: ahem...
"They played us like a damn fiddle"
Lies. That 2, if examined closely you can see an eye and Raiden's teeth.

@ferrers405 I'm with you, personally.
@Punished_Boss_84 haha!..i just looked..definitely looks like there is a reflection there on the left hand side of the 2
Oh my god I hope so.
This is the same guy that worked with Kojima to pull off an elaborate ruse to announce The Phantom Pain as a non-MGS game back at the game awards with a completely unknown studio and all.
Geoff is lying.
@moomoo lol..joakim mogren interview!...joakim was supposed to be the head of the new studio and in the interview he had bandages around his head..the interview was a bit strange but the twist was that joakim was supposedly rendered using Fox engine
Maybe they don't want the attention off of mgs pp, as it hasn't launched yet?
And maybe Sony was over zealous in putting it in the montage?
It's the old saying, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. It'll be announced at E3, if not, it doesn't exist. Yet.
That's complete BS. If it was part of some countdown, there would've been a one or three as well. There's no way this is just a coincidence that a "2" in the exact same font as MGR shows up in a trailer about upcoming games.
That's unfortunate news, though like others I hope we're just being trolled and there will be a sequel.
