Re: Soapbox: Sony Needs to Set the Record Straight on PS4K Soon

Remaining silent does nothing but build up negative hype. Everyone that is expecting the NX to become the second coming of christ are going to be sorely disappointed when it turns out to be another underpowered, gimmick filled console. Since the "official" specs have already been leaked on the neo, might as well just make an official announcement, get out ahead of nintendo, and bury them before they get started.

@Boerewors What happens if sony goes the new 3DS route and locks games behind the neo? Is that something worthy for people to complain about? Because it's starting to worry me. I own all 3 systems from this gen, and even though i have the ability to buy a neo, should i do so if sony locks content? I'm thinking no.

Re: Bungie Really Wants You to Get Back into Destiny

I love how a lot of people claim they won't go back to destiny, but will definitely be picking up the sequel. Really? What a waste of money. Most gamers today seem to be immune from repeating their past mistakes when it comes to buying a game that they'll burn out on two weeks after it launches.

Re: PS4K Would Be a Gigantic Pain in the Ass, Reckons BioWare Founder

@Splatburst If you actually read the first sentence of my comment, i said i agree with him. I wasn't trying to disprove his point at all, just pointing out that he's no longer in the business, and my "attack" was just pointing out the promises him and his team failed to deliver on. Yes, i'm still upset that someone who created some of the greatest RPGs ever made looked at the final code for ME3 and let it go to print. He needs to stick to beer making or whatever he does now.

Re: PS4K Would Be a Gigantic Pain in the Ass, Reckons BioWare Founder

While i agree with him, i don't really think he should be speaking on issues like this. I mean, releasing the third game in a series that promised big, cohesive, multiple endings and payoffs from your dozens of hours of progression and decision making, and not delivering on that promise is also complete lunacy, is it not?

Re: The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth DLC Is Complete on PS4

DietSmile

Really a shame that this expansion has been delayed so long on handhelds and consoles. Tyrone admitted they have very limited knowledge on how to optimize the engine they're using for BoI, and that was one of the reasons it was taking so long. Maybe they should've been working on that instead of announcing new games left and right and doing ARG events......

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy an Upgraded PS4K?

DietSmile

Unless they can produce a console that is on par with my 3 year old gaming pc, i'm not interested. I already have all current gen systems, and i have no desire to go 4K in the next few years. A half step is a waste of money, and smacks of the business practices used when Apple does iphone S models.

Re: Dark Souls III Runs Best on PS4 When it Comes to Consoles

DietSmile

@stevie85 it was mostly a joke, but if the rumors are in fact true, this could happen. Companies would re-release game like, say Dark Souls 3, running at 60fps with enhanced graphics. They could literally do that with EVERY game, make a few graphical changes, up the fps, and boom, instant $60 remaster.

Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console

@WARDIE As far as i'm concerned, AMD did a real crap job on PS4 and X1 hardware. Their GPUs, CPUs and APUs have yet to really measure up to anything intel or nvidia have already created. They can TALK about creating new hardware all day long, but every single time something comes out of their camp, it's an expensive space heater compared to other options on the market.

Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console

DietSmile

@rjejr PS5/XB2 won't be 4k capable, unless they plan on waiting another decade to release them. It's just not going to be financially viable for them to create a machine capable of it, i mean hell, they struggled creating 1080p machines 2 years ago! They're too cheap to attempt it, even in their next gen systems.

Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console

DietSmile

With the minimal upgrades they made from PS3 to PS4, i very, very highly doubt PS4.5 would be capable of anything close to 4k. The amount of graphical horsepower needed on PC to achieve a steady 30fps is about $700. Most games on PS4 can't even handle 1080 right now unless they're cut down to 30fps. Maybe PS6 will get there, definitely not PS5 or 4.5.
