Re: UK Sales Charts: The Last of Us Season 2 Puts the Game Back in the Top 10

CrispyMango92

I bought the upgrade along with Spider-Man and Days Gone upgrades to get some more Stars points and cash in on another $5 before Stars ends next month. Also told my girlfriend she has to watch me play both TLOU games since we finished season 2 over the weekend and season 3 is probably like two years away. She likes the show a lot so maybe she’ll like watching me play the games.

@graymamba the grind actually isn’t too bad in TFD, especially with the Pity system they implemented. I got all the characters (besides Ult. Blair) by playing. But I also logged like 670 hours in it. I kind of fell off it though. Played once or twice in the last two weeks. Replaying Ghost of Tsushima took priority and I don’t have all the time in the world. TFD is still good game though! I’ll probably jump back in when the new season comes around.

Re: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Will Be Even Better Than Its Wildly Successful Predecessor, Says Yoshida

CrispyMango92

Can’t wait. Secured my collectors edition. Sucker Punch is my favorite developer. Sly Cooper and inFamous are two of my favorite video game franchises and now I’ll be able to add the Ghost games to that list. Replaying Tsushima right now because I never got around to the Iki Island DLC and it looks absolutely incredible on my Pro. This game is probably going to blind me with how gorgeous it ends up looking when made from the ground up with the Pro in mind.

Re: Opinion: If You're on the Fence, Consider Buying a PS5 Now Before the Prices Inevitably Rise

CrispyMango92

@Rich33 I agree with you, which is why I most likely will still buy Sony games day 1. Last year the only day 1 titles I got were Astro Bot, Helldivers, Until Then, and A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead. In 2023, it was Alan Wake 2, Spider-Man 2, and Remnant 2. A lot of the time, games can come out fully optimized and finished day 1 but depending on the dev, you still know they’re going to provide updates that change a lot so there really isn’t any point in buying them. Vote with your wallet has never been more accurate.

Re: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Pre-Orders Go Live for Digital, Physical Copies

CrispyMango92

@Ryu_Niiyama oof, that sucks. My girlfriend and I share very different interests but she would never actually try to toss my stuff out or anything. That’s just basic respect. And that’s unfortunate about women disapproving of your hobby just because you’re also a woman. I hope you find someone who respects your hobby.

Re: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Pre-Orders Go Live for Digital, Physical Copies

CrispyMango92

@Ravix all depends on your lifestyle! I own two cats and my girlfriend loves fostering so there’s usually 3 cats at home (like now) so a glass case was necessary. My cats aren’t the type to knock things down but one can never be too careful. Rather have it locked in a cabinet where they can’t be dropped rather than on a shelf and have them fall and break. Too expensive of a hobby to take that risk!

Re: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Pre-Orders Go Live for Digital, Physical Copies

CrispyMango92

@Shepherd_Tallon I completely forgot about it until I saw the notification in my email about you replying to me so thank you for that. Was able to grab a CE as well but unfortunately my PS credit card CVV doesn’t save in my phone so had to use my other card. Just Lost out on a lot of points but rather secure a copy instead of lose out on it over points.

Re: Opinion: If You're on the Fence, Consider Buying a PS5 Now Before the Prices Inevitably Rise

CrispyMango92

I got my Pro already off eBay for almost $200 less than I would’ve gotten it new. Depending on my career position and the price of a PS6, I might just stick with the Pro for a couple years before I move onto the 6. I’m also not really willing to pay $80 for games. I wasn’t happy with $70 but was fine with it because games are a mess on day 1 these days. I only buy maybe 2-3 games at 70 a year now. But 80 is as you guys say, taking the piss. But like I said, depending on where I am in life a year from now, I might give in since Sonys games usually work day 1. But if not, I have years worth of games in my backlog to keep me busy and as busy as I am in life, missing out on games day 1 is no problem at all.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Gets PS5 Release Date, Trailer, Pre-Order Details

CrispyMango92

WOO!! I haven’t played the DLC from Tsushima so I started a new playthrough a few days ago to get to that and also in anticipation of this game. I’m playing it on my Pro and while I don’t think it has any upgrade for it, it still looks absolutely incredible. Just traveling the land on horseback and seeing the sunrise over the plains and all the grass swaying in the wind and the pollen and everything. Absolutely breathtaking. I see that and just think how the hell can they make Yotei look even better on a Pro. Sucker Punch is my fave dev so I’m super pumped for this.

Depending on the price, I might have to go for that collectors edition. I still need to at least get that mask from GoT someday. But it’s so expensive online.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 577

I’ve finished RE4 Remake (I didn’t have a good time with that game (I think it’s overrated)). Never played the original so this was my first time with it. Finished the Separate Ways DLC. Also finished A Quiet Place The Road Ahead (I started this back when it came out), did my daily dose of The First Descendant, and just started God of War Valhalla. Been so long since I’ve played GOW that I don’t remember anything about combos or how to use runes.

Also played a bunch of demos. Karma The Dark World which seems interesting but i can’t do horror like I used to so I’ll watch a playthrough of it on YouTube. Tried Star Wars Outlaws and Stellar Blade. Graphically, Star Wars doesn’t look very good. Since the demo starts you off at who knows what point in the game, I was having a hard time figuring out the controls because it kinda just throws you in. Didn’t enjoy my time with it honestly. I’ll probably get it when it’s like $20 max still. Stellar Blade just also didn’t click with me. But that’s because I’m just bad at combo heavy games like this so another YouTube walkthrough it is.

Re: Oblivion PS5 Remake Rumours Are Relentless, Claims of April Shadow Drop

CrispyMango92

@LikelySatan yeah I was big into GB during the 2010’s. Loved their content but slowly everyone left and Jeff Gerstmann being fired kind of broke the camels back. I only listened to the Jeff Jeff Bizarre Adventures podcast because that’s my favorite anime but even that wasn’t as consistent as I would’ve liked so I gave up on that eventually too. What annoys me the most is I understand Grubb has been in the industry a long time but half of what he says is just piggybacking off of rumors and the other half is him saying something that very much sounds like an opinion based on knowledge of the industry but he never says it is, so then it gets picked up as him saying something might happen and he doesn’t care to correct it and just continues to do the same thing. It’s a never ending cycle.

Re: PSVR2 Gets Enormous Price Reduction Starting March 2025

CrispyMango92

“Virtually giving it away” is quite the exaggeration, no? This is still kind of expensive. It was cheaper (350) when it was on sale during Christmas and even then was still too expensive imo. I got it for 260 on eBay which is a good price point. Anything higher than 300 AFTER TAX isn’t really worth it.

Re: Evidence Mounts for Seemingly Inevitable Persona 4 Remake on PS5

CrispyMango92

I hope it’s Golden they’re remaking. I never played a Persona game until Golden on my Vita and I was addicted to that game. Absolutely loved everything about it and it is in my top favorite games of all time so I would be there day one for a remake, as long as it’s Golden remade. If not, I’ll wait for the inevitable remake of Golden because Atlus.

Ordered a Pro two days ago on eBay (for $200 less than market prices!) and it came in today. Unfortunately I’m at work and going to the movies after so I won’t be home to unpack it for another 8 hours. But I’ll be doing my usual First Descendant dailies and downloading games I was putting off due to wanting a Pro like Space Marine 2, Rebirth and Hogwarts. I’ll most likely be playing them in that order. Also hopefully fit in some VR2 time since I’m off Monday,

Re: Lists of Sony’s Cancelled Live Service PS5 Games Paint a Worrying Picture

CrispyMango92

I’m not the type of person who says someone should lose their job and such but Jim and Herman really bungled this generation in terms of games. Hulst should really step down at this point. I get the need to have a cash cow and I won’t say they were entirely wrong for all these projects but the amount of money and time spent on so many projects is probably hurting internally. I wasn’t of the mind that this was a bad gen because it started off stellar but the last two years have really been bad. It’s not as bad personally since I have a backlog on all 3 consoles of like 200+ games but it’s hard not to be upset at Sonys lack of single player games these last two years. I know someone at Sony said recently that there’d be a steady stream of games coming out starting this year but with how wild game development can be, I won’t believe it until I see it. Sony really needs to step their game up.

Re: New PS Store Sale Hands Out Big PS5, PS4 Game Discounts

CrispyMango92

@rjejr you’re not wrong. I was thinking a few days ago about how during the PS3 era we didn’t have to pay taxes on digital titles. Then either late ps3 or early ps4, the govt realized digital games were a thing and forced companies to start taxing us. Also, sales for us here on the east coast (NY represent!) won’t show up for us until 12.

Re: Poll: Do You Use PS Stars?

CrispyMango92

Yeah. It’s a mess of a program but better than nothing. I wish they just automatically start the campaigns that you buy games for though. I bought Astro back on release and since I didn’t start it, I lost out on points. Had me kind of pissed.

Since launch, I’ve redeemed $70 in credits so not bad.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 562

Besides my part time job doing daily stuff in The First Descendant, I’ll be heading into some virtual worlds. Grabbed a PSVR2 from eBay for $264 total. Upgraded to Plus Premium because it has a bunch of VR2 games free and bought a handful yesterday because they’re on sale. So I think I’m set for quite awhile. Started the Arizona Sunshine Remake last night. Remembered liking that on the original PSVR.
