I love the storage space on my ps4pro! It's why I play it more than the switch! Eagerly awaiting the ps5pro so I can stop borrowing my friend's whenever he leaves town. But maybe... justify the purchase with games first.
No thanks, I'll just stick to getting high on drugs. I don't need to be bored with bad humor supporting this piece of trash. I don't even care if he's guilty or not. I don't need the law to tell me whether or not I can support someone, I can make my own judgment calls.
The movie will be hailed as genius for jack black's operatic contribution "claptrap", which will consist entirely only of the lyrics "clap trap" over and over again. Pure banger.
I might check this out because I was playing live a live last night and making fun of all the stuff at the beginning of the middle ages chapter ("kidnapping princesses is just what we do in the middle ages!") and realized that they need to make just a straight up, insane, humorous rpg...
This looks tight. Gotta try to hype my bro for the co-op. 2P the entire campaign? Yes, mistress. Also digging the limbs as targets, reminds me of Vagrant Story. That added depth is appreciated when executed properly.
@kcarnes9051 I agree with a lot of what you've said here. Like all of it. Even if I didn't like the direction they were going in, the other games felt like some kind of evolution... this is an abandonment.
And don't worry, they always put turn based in your mouth when you critique a new entry. This is one of the most fruitless conversations in all of gaming. The corporate FF fans versus anyone with an actual opinion.
Oh, hey, it's good to see my boy Tarnished Maidenless stepping up with the magnitude of 12.6m steps over the flailing corpse of clive all hype rosfield. No staying power at all says something after all that front end hype.
So if they own Activision, they get that revenue. Why would they not put product on another platform if the option is available? That means they get money from PlayStation players now too.
@Drago201 Like there aren't people who don't buy multiple copies of final fantasy games or every remake every time it drops even though they have that game already? Your point isnt as valid as you think. Don't forget the FF shriners
@Krysus There are a good deal of indie RPGs, It's just that, unfortunately, a lot of them are by Kemco.
I've tried adding a few to the database of games here, but they've been pending for months. From an old account even.
'Ara Fell' and 'Rise of the Third Power' from Stegosoft are both pretty basic, but fun casual TB rpgs that serve as an amusing diversion. Kinda like an afternoon paperback sort of cozy. Decent stories and great world building, basic gameplay though. But fun!
Bug Fables is actually great. Paper Mario rip off FS, but beyond the basic artwork, it's engaging and challenging (I used the badge for hard mode the whole time though), loads of fun and good to play with kids.
Chained Echoes is it. As far as indie RPGs go, this is the tops. ONE guy made it over 8(+, still tweaking) years and hired a composer. It's excellent. But yeah, even as a love letter to old school games, that opening scene is a bit much. Just ignore that, the rest of the game is great.
Redemption Reapers is an upper mids tactics rpg. It's pretty challenging but has been nerfed with difficulty levels after patching. It's basically old school Fire Emblem.
Crosscode and Undertale are two of the top rated indie RPGs, and not just in my backlog. Kind of need a shoehorn here though. Not entirely TB.
And there's Sea of Stars to look forward to. I'm actually hype for that one.
Octopath Traveler is great. Haven't gotten to the second yet, but I possess it. The Bravely series has been one of diminishing returns for me. I loved the first, liked the second, and tolerated the third (which is titled Bravely Default II, because numbering confusion is also old school FF). Sad to see (or not? T'was Japan only) they did the gacha route there.
There's a lot more indie RPGs on PC, but i'm not a pc gamer.
@LifeGirl FF has always been niche. SE has been trying to change that since the merger.
Wouldn't say it's working, just the loud ones are louder and have more platforms to be noisy in the media.
Also, Square has a tendency to blow their own horn all the time over sales "milestones" unlike FromSoftware, which can actually sell impressive numbers, AND still RPG.
@Krysus For sure. I guess it just burns me that they constantly re-release their back catalog while maintaining the position that turn-based isn't popular, or at least, not popular enough for AAA (Mad LAD Kiryu says Hey).
@Kyushutrail I keep going back to CotL for various reasons. This time it's the Relics of the Old Faith DLC. I guess you can charge attacks now and there are new spells, too? So it's probably totally different than the last time I played, and i'm looking forward to it.
The speed run trophy in Stray is actually a lot easier than you think because you're not going for any of the collectibles. I would recommend the optinoob guide on YouTube if you want to use a guide, if not just run for those goalpoints as soon as you can.
I think doing the speed run is easier than doing the first chase sequence without getting caught for that trophy. RNG is my mortal enemy though.
Since I have most of these on the switch instead, I picked of course, Afterimage, which is excellent! I put everything on pause for two months just playing and replaying that. Its the most fun i've had with a metroidvania since Hollow Knight. I might like it as much as Ender Lilies.
I haven't even touched Octopath two or live a live and got both on drop day.

@Czar_Khastik No. ignore that man. your comments are hilarious (and insightful). I come here just for your stuff.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 486
Ending stretch of the absolute boring slog that is live a live and playing Trinity Trigger as well.
Probably start Octopath Traveler II when I finish that other one.
After waiting something like 30 years for live a live, I can see why it was a commercial failure in Japan. 😬
Re: Baraka, Li Mei, and Tanya Konfirmed in New Mortal Kombat 1 PS5 Trailer
Super hype for this reboot. Loving what they're doing with the story.

So I'm glad they did.

Ha. Just like "no day one patch", they're moving the posts... (again???)
Leviathan was ALWAYS planned as DLC.

The game that would rather get rid of all people of color than slavery is #1?
What does that say about the player base?

@hi_drnick across all accounts... probably. This one is relatively new, so... give me a week. 🙃

@MasterVGuides Yeah, I know I apparently needed to have an outburst or something. I feel better and nothing was accomplished that day. 🤣
Re: Square Enix Plotting More Retro Revivals After Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Success
Yeah, we know they're creatively bankrupt. That's kind of been their thing for a while.
Re: Trails into Reverie (PS5) - Action-Packed Epilogue Is a Brilliantly In-Depth RPG
They need to sell these games as a boxed set. Or various boxed sets is more accurate.
Too many of them to start now. What a bummer. They launched this series around when I had quit gaming for a couple decades.
Looks like the real rpg juggernaut now.
Re: Japanese Final Fantasy 16 Sales Plummet by 90% in Second Week

Trinity Trigger, maybe Cult of the Lamb

Re: Final Fantasy 16 PS5 Update 1.03 Out Now, Get All the Patch Notes Here
@Ambassador_Kong See, the cool thing is, you have to beat the entire game on brain dead Easy to unlock actual difficulty options.
The one consistency across final fantasy as a series is that the developers don't value your time.
