@get2sammyb that’s my stance, I’m really hopeful it’s just a bad translation and is the usual coop and pvp stuff. But if it’s a battle royale or wave based thing like Nightreign I’d be reluctant. I’m withholding judgment until the article with Miyazaki on the 4th.
@JackiePriest Sony historically has been very adamant they don’t see Nintendo as a competitor. Indeed, neither does Microsoft. While Nintendo makes strides into both companies’ territories on a regular basis, they have always just done their own thing. Timed exclusives may cause a shift in this dynamic, as will exclusives such as The Duskbloods, but by and large it’ll be a while before anyone suddenly starts getting salty in a public facing role corporate side.
Smells like Bethesda. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Elden Ring marked the start of Fromsofts decline. They’re still very strong but man, this doesn’t look good.
I’m a big naysayer when it comes to this franchise, but he isn’t wrong in approaching it this way. While I’m sure it’ll ruffle some feathers, being in my mid 30s now and having to entertain the day to day lives of similar aged people with the overall mentality of preteens is not a great thing. That being said, still don’t care to watch this one but can appreciate a refreshing take any day of the week.
@ButterySmooth30FPS but I want to pay with my blood. All the time, every day and at the hands of every now. And what about the adoring fan and faelian? I need that terrible voiceover work!
I would love this as Oblivion was my second favorite PS3 game, only behind Demons Souls. That being said, I don’t know if this would be affected by the strike that Bethesda-Zenimax seems to be staring down the barrel of. Either way, please let this be real.
@Rich33 if it’s a double pack they’re presumably expecting lower sales anyway given how many people already own both games in their remastered format. My dislike of Naughty Dog’s reanimated carcass doesn’t make me blind to obvious business choices. Easier to have a single SKU for both games than to have two separate SKUs to manufacture and move.
This just makes it even more of a repulsive idea to try out the games despite not being a fan of their gameplay style. Naughty Dog has become a joke, and that’s a sad day. What happens to the folks who made Jak and Daxter?
I mean that’s a genuinely smart decision. No one wants to launch their game and be unable to fulfill orders. If it turns out to be really good it’d be a shame to have it bogged down by controversy.
Zelnick rarely steers the firm in the wrong direction, so I’m glad to see nothing has changed. Same happened with Borderlands, revealed the fourth entry and then say “coming later this year!”. Awesome to see this trend coming from such a major company, hopefully others follow suit. I love Bethesda but…you know.
Good month no doubt, but for me I just don’t care. Robocop seems fun and lots of folks like it, I loved Digimon Story when it came out but don’t feel any need to revisit and I couldn’t care less about a multiplayer dead by daylight spinoff thing.
It’s one of the few games I’ve regretted purchasing even on sale (ultimate edition was 95 after tax). With many, myself included, still regularly unable to get past the title screen due to a known bug, the lack of content and long load screens it feels very vacant of substance. I enjoyed playing it at first but dang, talk about a downhill trend.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the big update with horde mode and prestige esque levels supposed to be released this month? The studio apologizes for not communicating well, but then the communication improvements are just more apologies. Underneath it’s a good game but really feels like a studio in over their heads.
After posting this I took a look at the roadmap and the prestige ranks with several other packs were supposed to be winter 2025. So yeah they’re way late on that, and spring runs til the start of May I believe. Whatever is going on, I feel for the devs but still would avoid buying the premium edition until they deliver on content. Delays are fine but missing deadlines and staying silent isn’t.
Kids also aren’t dreaming of Netflix producing anything good. Sorry bucko, you’ve been talking about how innovative Netflix gaming is for what feels like half a decade and have nothing to show for it.
Kill the initiative and focus on tv like a smart executive should.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game. But I still exchanged it for psn cards to buy first berserker, given physical copies are currently phantoms in Canada. It’s a great game and worth a buy!
@CielloArc I support the idea of Unions, and believe that companies replacing the unionized employees is not ethically or morally right. That being said many unions have been out of control over the last few years and have lost support from much of the public, myself included.
I don’t support dissolving unions, but they’re often behaving like kids who didn’t get the best toy for Christmas. That’s not what a union is for.
He doesn’t deserve the hate, but even so it makes it abundantly clear that the recasting in ZZZ is in fact due to the ongoing strike despite Hoyoverse’s claims to the contrary.
It’s funny how they genuinely see their players as stupid, apparently.
@Nepp67 Andrew Wilson is a businessman and understands how to make money even if it isn’t a method he prefers. Zaslav is clueless and seems to hate money so much that I’d find it hard to believe the guy doesn’t burn it in his yard for bonfires. Such a bizarre company, I’m genuinely confused and not even annoyed at this point.
Not surprised. My guess is that WB won’t be making games anymore by the end of the year. As long as Zaslav runs the show things won’t be getting better.
His phrasing doesn’t sound optimistic, more like a statement that they need more hands on deck to make sure it launches this year. Absolutely banking on a 2026 release. Unlike Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch has never failed to deliver and hasn’t been mucking with things that ought to be left alone.
@ShogunRok I was really excited for this one, having only fallen off during the Fullbringers arc and returning for TYBW. After seeing gameplay and the general impressions, I opted to pass. I love Bleach but dang, after so long we get effectively a spruced up version of the Heat the Soul games. Not bad but for the price point I expected much much more.
@CP2 glad I’m not alone with this sentiment. Tired of studios acting like it’s down to game developmental being hard or costly. It’s absolutely true both are a fact of life in this industry, but when you aren’t producing quality goods at all and the rate of project completion is so low I don’t buy the claim that it’s just the industry: it’s you.
Get rid of Neil, honestly. The longer he’s present the worse it’ll get, as his comments and general attitude suggest someone whose passion is long gone.
Not surprised but look, naughty dog has been acting like a studio that has been reduced to a skeleton crew. It obviously hasn’t, but this really indicates a problem with decision making. It would be releasing this year if they weren’t wasting so many resources on remasters no one wanted, nor a life service title that never made it out the door.
I will be 37 come mid 2027, I make no promises I’ll still give a darn about gaming by then. Least of all from a studio whose glory days were during the PS3 era.
@Torque it is, same with china. The big difference is they’re largely just getting a foothold (and digging it in too) so they’ve yet to really cause a big effect overseas. That being said, it’ll happen sooner rather than later given how determined western studios are to complain about gamers when their games don’t make bank instead of looking at why that is.
Game studios aren’t just competing against eachother, they’re competing for our money. Games are too expensive to buy every single new release like we may have at one time, I need to see why I should pick your game over the others releasing at the same time. Western studios tend to be nervous about sharing more of their gameplay, heck they flat out delay games to avoid competition. That doesn’t make me say “I’ll pick you.” It makes me say “there’s a reason you’re not bothering, pass.”
@HonestHick Shadows is doing pretty well over there critically, but sales is another matter. I feel it’ll flop and not because of being bad or not selling much, but because the targets Ubisoft has set are likely far too high to be reasonably attainable.
Western companies have always had a problem with chasing trends. The difference is that now doing so and not selling millions of copies is cancer. Adapt or die out, Japan is fine because they go with what people want.
@stefan771 I rolled credits (including epilogue) in about 32 hours. Played on expert mode with no guided navigation. Great experience if a little bit of bummer when it’s all done.
While I understand the train of thought, this sucks for me because I’m one of those devil worshippers that turns heads when I say I don’t care at all about GTA. If there’s no other games near it then it looks like my money goes elsewhere, the horror!

This and phantom blade zero feel too good to be true. They look amazing, but from studios that have minimal track records. The latter’s studio legitimately has only made mobile games that were not great to put it mildly.
@ShogunRok I found a gold crown (massive) Arkveld and let’s just say if I wasn’t running charge blade with perfect block skills I would not have killed it. Couldn’t even see my character.
Way way bigger than I expected. I feel like some of this was intended for launch (hub, zoh Shia) but am happy to see it’s sooner rather than later. Time to boot it up!
