Re: E3 2017: DOOM: VFR is Coming to PlayStation VR This Year

@adf86 I prefer to walk manually too, but Doom is known for its quick-paced action (tense moments where you're constantly moving and turning to shoot) and that would sadly make Doom VFR a very nauseating experience for some if controlled like Farpoint. I think Bethesda did warps consciously.

I'm entirely happy with this PSVR support. I can't financially keep up with all the options I wish to purchase, which is a success in my book. As others have said, games like Statik and Job Simulator are so different from all other games that it gave me that "new" excitement I haven't felt since Portal and Amnesia first released.

@Constable_What That actually clarifies your stance a lot. What you've just described is exactly why I love Silent Hill 2 so much. The character in RE7 doesn't speak as much as I'd like and therefore has very few outlets of characterization. He's just kind of a dude who has a wife.

@Constable_What I can totally understand your points, especially if you're prone to motion sickness. But without the VR, RE7 wouldn't now be my favorite horror experience of all time, held before by Amnesia. It's really something else being able to peek around corners and investigate the little (albeit slighly blurry) details of this intricately-designed house.

@playstation1995 I have yet to play horizon (though with everyone going nuts over it I can hardly contain my excitement), but Zelda is not entirely comparable. For me, no game makes puzzles quite as satisfying or worlds quite as engrossing as Zelda, if only because it's a world that's been with us since we were children.
