Re: Metal Gear Solid Series: How to Get Started and All Games Ranked

Avalanchee

1. MGS 3
2. MGS 1
3. MGS: Peace Walker
4. MGS: V + GZ
5. MGS 4
6. MGS 2

Really didn't click with 2 back when I played it (maybe I was too young, perhaps today would be different).

Also here to defend PW and V which bind so well together, and serve interesting story, setting and characters.
(Worth mentioning: most of the interesting story in MGS: V is found post credits!)

Re: Happy 30th Birthday to PlayStation

Avalanchee

What a run it's been!
Hard to imagine the gaming landscape without PlayStation's iconic consoles and industry-defining games.

Dec 3rd is also my birthday and I'm happy to share it with our beloved PlayStation 😍

Re: Sony Delists Ghost of Tsushima PC from Steam Regions in Line with Helldivers 2

Avalanchee

It's an incredibly dumb TOS regardless of PC...
I mean PlayStation is being sold in probably most of those countries with an official distributor or otherwise.
You're telling me anyone who buys a PS5 in these countries and goes on PSN is breaking the terms?

I've been using an account outside my country for many years because it was created it before PSN was available domestically.
I'm sure millions of accounts are doing the same.
Time to reform this stupid clause.

Also let us migrate PSN accounts to different countries for christ sake.

Re: A Bloodborne Remake on PS6 Might Have More 'Value', Creator Suggests

Avalanchee

I'm sorry but where exactly is the reference to PS6 or a next generation console in his words?
"New hardware" can be considered PS5 in this case, since the game was released on PS4.

It's the second time this happened recently - first time was with "The PS5 will be entering it's latter stage" which was reported by the media as "The PS5 generation is half over".

Re: Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Removes New Game +, Puts It Behind a DLC Paywall

Welp, I guess Yakuza was good while it lasted as a cult game.
This kind of BS comes hand in hand with the mass market franchise-isation effect, so I expect the entries to become more and more frequent and with less and less innovation (See: Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry...)

I was already lukewarm on LAD and I have concerns about IW (seriously, Kiryu doesn't have to be in every single game)

Re: Upgraded PS5 Controller with Hugely Improved Battery Life Spotted

Avalanchee

Saw the $90 tag and for a second was afraid we're being squeezed for every little thing these days, even something like an improved battery.
Hopefully this is a revision that completely replaces the original remote and for the same price.
Now I'm left wondering if the Edge is due to receive the same treatment.

Re: Kratos Voice Actor Underfire for Roasting New Call of Duty Campaign

Avalanchee

Is it only the gaming industry or the entire younger generation that is so incredibly sensitive and self-righteous?
1) First was about Future Class and their demand to "address" the Gaza situation (Israeli here, so I take personal offense with that).
2) Then it was another demand to address the layoffs (Tech worker here, and every sector of the tech industry was severely affected by downturn this year, game devs were nothing special).
3) Then people were offended for the award winners and "how dare they present a 'wrap it up' sign to them? so insulting!"
4) And now this unnecessary backlash at a well deserved and not mean spirited jab at CoD.

It's becoming really tiring navigating all the negativity around the gaming industry, while trying to enjoy games with an optimistic attitude.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Red Dead Redemption on PS4?

Avalanchee

One of the very few games I have ever finished more than once.
Was hoping for a remake, especially due to the fact that the entire RDR1 map is freely navigable in RDR2. I used to think that was hint of things to come but leave it to Rockstar to massively disappoint once again.

I can play it just fine on PS3, don't see a reason to pay $50 for higher resolution.

Re: Reaction: Solid Xbox Showcase Should Give Sony Some Incentive to Stop Being So Damn Cloak and Daggers About PS5, PS4

Avalanchee

@naruball Obviously their pipelines are full, probably for the remainder of this console generation at the very least.
I am not suggesting there is anything they should be doing differently in the immediate term.
I'm mostly talking about the long/strategic term. Lack of competition lead to stagnation and uninspired projects.
Seeing a game such as Starfield ought to spark innovation and creativity deep within their various studios.
I'm only saying a healthy Microsoft makes a better and more envelope-pushing Sony in the years to come.
