Hollow Knight: Silksong still doesn't have a release date, but that hasn't stopped developer Team Cherry from trying to have its cake and eat it, too. Having tortured its fanbase for years with an admirably lackadaisical pace of development, the devs are now trolling players with a picture of a piece of chocolate cake.
This latest development started cooking on Reddit a few days ago (thanks, IGN), where it was noted that Team Cherry director William Pellen had changed the profile picture of his X / Twitter profile to an image of a slice of creamy, delicious-looking chocolate cake. With the benefit of hindsight, it appears that Pellen was, in a roundabout way, hyping up the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 at the time.
A reverse image search determined that the cake in question was, in fact, a Brooklyn Blackout Cake from the cooking website Bon Appétit. Now, prepare for the inevitable conspiracy that must come with anything Silksong; the recipe was published 2nd April 2024. Why does that matter? Only because the Nintendo Direct for the recently-revealed Switch 2 has been confirmed for the same day in 2025, of course!
