Yep Sony and Xbox in February with big AAA games.
Come on Nintendo and give us a new Mario 3d game for February 2027.
Just imagine what a month that would be.

With PS5 Pro getting both GOWL and Fable makes it top console.

I gonna be honest paid for early access through GPU series x, played for a few hours.
Got refund £20 today.
I really am not a nostalgia gamer and it did in a way feel old and not that graphically advanced.
Oh well back to Splatoon raiders, which seems to be great fun at the moment.

Since HFW and LOU2 and GOWR nothing this generation has taken my eyes to heaven.
I don’t think they have the time and shear level of detail in games development today and of course the cost to do that pure high quality.
Pro brings the best out of games since PSSR2.0 though.

So glad you marked the game on its own merits, instead of like some reviewers moaning about multiplayer etc lack of and marking it down.

Not ignoring anything they are just this month’s results numbers.
Absolutely of course the Xbox sales will drop once the price increases and maybe even the switch 2 as well.

It’s more that Sony have lead the PS5 to these low sales numbers.

Being honest got excited for gameplay, just a boring trailer thing.

I thought we decided this issue was going to effect about 10 console sales and the far more massive issue was the potential $1000 price problem, that’s the console killer.

About time we had a real PS5 Pro PSSR 2.0 Avatar update.
One great looking game might just stop the fuzz and smearing with PSSR 2.0.

Anyway are we still getting FH6 and Pro enhanced.

I did enjoy Avowed on gamepass.
Was a good game but would not buy it even at £50.

Next generation for all companies will be the biggest hard sell in probably console history and cross generation games for all of next generation will make it even harder.
And extreme diminishing returns compared to the PS5 Pro.

I think next generation will be a very low sale generation, then the big decision after is no hardware and game streaming moving on.
Game streaming Makes me want to be sick.

Never mind a few thousand lost against 100 million consoles sold or being sold.
I’m sure Sony will get over you.

The far bigger issue is the price for the general public, casuals and family’s
That is where you can lose millions and sales are showing that over the last 2 months with PS5 sales falling off a cliff.

What was May 389k for the month of May worldwide and June will be worse. That is very low for a Sony console. That is their big issue.

With switch 2 sitting at about 1.3 million for May.

Absolutely, I think it’s my age and gaming is getting a bit to repeat.
I was already to download AC black flag on the Pro, watched the great reviews and then thought I’ve done all this before.
The same can be said for a lot of new games as well.

I’m starting to need games that make me think a bit harder use the old brain cells.

I went back in TOTK on switch 2 the other day and had to think a bit and thought this is what I need, a bit of working things out in my games.

I’m calling this “old life game crisis” 🤣

Switch 2 seems to be the only console doing games that are Nintendo but a bit different.
Like DKB or Splatoon Raiders.

Sony and Xbox are very rinse and repeat, but Nintendo can be as well.

I will consider both PS6 and Helix.
PS6 we know what we will get.
Helix we are not sure yet.
So too early to say either way or both.

I don’t think due to recent events either will be available until November 2028.

They will probably be moved over to Unreal 5 engine, which I don’t want.
So will require less coders to keep the id tech 8 engine up to date etc.

Has Kena 2 moved out to 2027 now.

Well Game UK is already small and in sports direct, but also I guess it is the same as other shops, where internet shopping is taking over more and more anyway.

Stores will have Sony or anyone as a presence as long as it makes the store money.
Space is premium, if the shops make no sales they will give up the space to something else that will.

But let’s not forget there’s still hardware and controllers etc and merchandise so the stores won’t give it up for a long long time.

Look at last weekend it was XBOX bash time due to studio closures etc.

The only thing that didn’t get much of bashing was the Bungie loosing half its team, due to timing of the announcement, everyone was bashing XBOX at the time and of course its Bungie.

So why bother with 15% physical costs and also get a green environmental tick and go all digital.
I’m surprised there is such an up roar, I was thinking even sooner like January 2027.

Legally, you generally cannot inherit digital games. When you "buy" a digital game, you are actually purchasing a personal, non-transferable license to play it. Under platform Terms of Service (ToS), these licenses expire when you die and cannot be gifted or willed.

It’s an interesting one as there was an article on digital media and your rights if you inherit in a will, unfortunately.

Basically unless you know passwords for access etc you are not inheriting, also legally you have to inform the person has passed away so you get shafted either way.

So the executor of the will ends up closing the accounts and the digital media is gone forever in normal practice as 90% of the world won’t even think about it that way.

Not sure really as I only really buy big AAA games and never look back. Normally on release day.

Never by FIFA or COD but I think they drop in price quickly.

But once PS go all digital then they won’t reduce as much as there is no second hand disc market.

Probably very slow and small reductions like Nintendo nearly new physical games.

Most general public and casuals won’t worry about it and of course all digital gamers like me don’t really care.

Like I said before on here yesterday, great for the environment, less plastic stuff and machines and energy usage making the disc and cases and the raw materials etc.

I asked a couple at work today, they went it will be what it is, casual type gamers.

They are in the PS ecosystem they are not going anywhere in their masses.

Sony just need to release some very good games keep great second and third party support, keep the FIFA and COD crowd smiling.

As for competition for Sony, Nintendo sell game consoles its competition and Sony are starting to get spanked in the monthly console sales chart.
So Sony do have competition, because if the switch and switch 2 did not exist, the gamers and general public would by a PS5, even only 50% did that is tens of millions of PS5 sales.

Games consoles are the new house investment portfolio in the UK.
One of the very few things you can invest in generally that goes up in price the longer you have it.

Nothing beats the PS4 era for me, since then, well a great starting first 2 years for PS5.
Since then it’s been slowly down hill with this and that and now this.

Shame it all finished, but you can do this still on the PS5 you have to use IP addresses.

The PS4 era really was PlayStation at its upmost best for me all round.
