Destiny PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Look, we know that a lot of people love Destiny, and that's great – but Bungie's first-person shooter has got to be the most bizarre BAFTAs winner ever. The intergalactic escapade scooped the Best Game award during a glitzy event in London earlier this evening – despite it, er, suffering from some pretty enormous issues. Even ardent fan Robert Ramsey's interest has waned of late.

If you look at the winners from previous years, it's the likes of Mass Effect 2, The Last of Us, and BioShock that have won – story-driven games. As such, it's strange to see such a multiplayer heavy release – and a flawed one at that – take the top gong. To be fair, this author's friends list is still regularly populated with people playing the title, so it must be doing something right. Shrugs.

Other winners included Alien: Isolation for audio innovation (much deserved), OlliOlli for best sports game (holy heck, Roll7), and The Last of Us: Left Behind for its story (well, duh). Our personal Game of the Year pick, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, netted the Game Design gong, while Ashley Johnson took home the prize of Best Performer for her turn as Ellie.

We've included the full list of winners below, so feel free to have a little peruse and tell us whether you agree. It all looks fairly reasonable to us, aside from that, er, Best Game winner. Ahem. What do you reckon? Let us know in the comments section below.
