PlayStation 4

While pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 are still readily available from most retailers, GameStop recently sounded an availability alarm by shutting down sales for the next generation system – despite Sony telling the North American giant to open the floodgates earlier in the year. Now it seems that we could be heading towards a pre-launch panic, as gamers flock to eBay to secure system reservations.

One recent auction for a PS4 pre-sale sold for an incredible $860 – more than double the console’s recommended retail price. The manufacturer did warn earlier in the year that demand may outstrip supply, so if you haven’t secured your system yet, and you don’t want to pay over the odds for it, we seriously recommend getting your console registered now. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
