Some of EA's general belief logic is getting so far fetched it is literally bordering in fever dream territory.

I genuinely loathe live service titles and the monetization that goes with it.

The worrying trend isn't the fact EA has got such a lob on for these types of games because at the end of the day, money talks. It's the seemingly relaxed way a once frowned on tactic to syphon huge profits of cash from players is becoming disturbingly normal.

This sort of peripheral doesn't belong on a console, period.

It's a gimmick and it's in the same category as levitating led charging hubs.

The only game you would ever properly use a mouse with are fps games and that opens up a can of worms so huge that devs won't touch it with a barge pole so forget about support for both future and current titles.

Sure there are other games you COULD use it with but could that justify the purchase!? If it really is your bag, you would just play on PC.

As i get older i tend to be a lot less impulsive and wiser when it comes to buying brand new games at a premium, Ragnarok has always been on my radar since release but always waited for it to be on sale.

I don't have a major issue with the price of games at the minute but i do have an issue with the volume of good games i want to play, and the cost certainly racks up.

I almost bought Ragnarok in the end of year sale but opted for Jedi Survivor instead because it was so cheap.

I am really loving my old man patience at the minute, got Jedi Survivor for £7 and getting God of War Ragnarok for absolutely nothing. 😀

@themightyant So true, would be quite a challenge to name me a bunch great games of this and previous generations that didn't borrow or was heavily influenced by another. You can't get away from it, and not just with games.

@Kiefer-Sutherland True, i hear what your saying. I wish more people would play it that haven't already, it's superb.

However, its using asthetics as its singular point of existence. Not good practice in my book especially when it just didn't need it.

There is WAY too much emphasis on visual quality now and it's worrying.

Considering all necessary resources, it costs less than £1 million to remaster games and even at a budget price that is big profit. Its a way more reliable source of profit too.

Callisto was a good game, a very enjoyable game and it was a shame it got dumped on the way it did. Yeah there were a few annoying caveats but it ran well and it also looked good, REALLY good.

This patch is just pure yawn, doing something because you can and not because it's needed.

Really don't know where this over obsession with super visuals has come from, highlighted by evidence of people now wanting to 'give it a go' because you can s33 stu7fz in 8kayz. 🤦‍♂️

Don't know why they won't remaster Bloodborne, probably some obtuse reason that nobody will ever find out, which is fair enough, just try not to rub salt in the wounds by remastering something that doesn't deserve it, doesn't need it and nobody wanted in the first place.

Whoever is making these decisions really needs to lay off the evostik!

Oh yeah sure, it's in the developers hands. But it was ALWAYS in the developers hands and this will ALWAYS be an issue going forward to varying extent.

Perhaps its just me but i never have. I tend to purchase based on the experience and gameplay and from what i have experienced so far it has been more than sufficient.

I can be frivolous and careless with money at times but i draw the line at shelling out that sort of money so i can have the 'option' of spending a bit of time drooling over the lighting and reflection of Kratos's nutsack in a pool of water on the floor.

The ONLY selling point here is being able to play certain current games at 60fps and even that feels like a bit of a con and something we should be getting anyway.

Absolute joke, this will be the first ever Sony console to get a hard pass from me.

@Tielo Correct, although the studios involved in the production of said titles have all been hoovered up by Microsoft.

Best option Microsoft has is to just to ditch the hardware and go full SEGA mode.

They have a monstrous amount of money and resources now and i can only see good coming out it that EVEYONE will benefit from.

Oh come on. This was never gonna be a PS4 title....never...ever.

Makes perfect sence for a first generation PS5 title. These guys kill it and make a major impression every time.

From a visuals perspective i am literally wetting myself with anticipation. Look what they did with Killzone Shadow Fall. First generation PS4 title and STILL one of the best looking games on the platform.

Let us not forget this is MIDGAR only, which by itself was linear and just a small portion of a massive game. Stacks up pretty well when you put it in to perspective.

This game deserves a 9 easily. It was never going to surpass the original in anything other than it's visuals, which are at times truly beautiful. Im pretty sure the dev's knew this and i think the majority of hardcore final fantasy fans knew this also.

My big issue here, and it was always going to be one, is the utterly bewildering review disparity blighting the internet.

I bought the original game when it was released over 20 years ago so i am biased but a lot of people missed the point.

This was a love letter to the fans. Personally it had everything there that i needed and expected. Granted i didn't excite, amaze, open my mind, chew me up, spit me out and change my life like the original game did but there was a consistent warm cuddle from start to finish which was truly humbling and should be respected.

Would be nice if there was some sort of rule where existential non conformist millennials are banned from reviewing video games and just passing an opinion in general.

This rumour/information has been around for some time now and in all honesty when i first heard about it i didn't even consider for one second this could be bs. It makes complete sence from all perspectives

Capcom and the development team involved in RE7 were actively expressing their excitement at stearing RE in a different direction MID development and considering its actual success, not to mention the massive boost it got with a VR addition, you would be a fool to think anything else.

While they pile the resources in to this new project expect them to just feed the fans with sugar coated versions of old games while they...oh wait... 🤔

Ok this is NOT an exaggeration but my PS4 Pro used to be louder than my henry vacuum cleaner when playing certain games. And by not an exaggeration i mean i actually used a db meter. I wear headphones 99% of the time when playing games but you could FEEL the noise regardless. Kind of dumb when you consider i managed to completely eradicate nearly all noise by simply using a high quality thermal paste. 🤔

Im currently fighting and trying to contain my own war with my ps4 back catalogue so a delay is far from the worst thing. On a serious note though, this outbreak is pretty messed up. Probably time for us all to stop, take a look around and be grateful for what we already have. We can sit here and be disingenuous and drop jokes but as mentioned before its just a lump of plastic. Spare a though for those affected. Ps5 will get here when it gets here.

Not everyone is gonna like the freebie games every month. I'd like to say it's their way of catering for all but the quality isn't even there to begin with. Absolutely inexcusable not to include a VR game every month.

Pretty moronic comment tbh. Personally I don't think ANYONE should be excited about ANY cloud based gaming platform for at least another 10 years. The stuff just isn't reliable and responsive enough. Nobody reasonably in the know will trade out traditional consoles for this gimmick, and it still IS a gimmick despite what some may think. Oh and good luck selling input lag to jacked in teenagers. I only realised the other day my ps plus sub ran out several months ago due to a cancelled debit card. I have played several games intensively and done whatever I have needed to do. I had to ask myself. What is it i am ACTUALLY paying for? It's become like my Netflix account. I still pay for it even though im not completely sure why. 🤔
