Re: PS5 UI Revealed in New State of Play Presentation

spoonard

Overall i'd say it looked pretty good. It seemed...I don't know...unfinished? I feel like they glossed over things pretty quickly without showing much detail. The PS4 reveal showed everything in great detail comparatively speaking. What features they did show, they didn't show how they worked with much detail.

Re: PS5 Doesn't Have an Optical Audio Port

It's an old standard that needs to be left behind. I have an HDMI-based 7.2 surround system that was upgraded from an optical-based 5.2 system. I'm glad I upgraded. Optical is old. And it doesn't support some of the audio features that are coming out with the PS5 anyway.

Re: Poll: What PS5 Information Do You Want Most?

I'm excited to hear about the UI and what kind of nifty features they'll have waiting for us. What initially sold me on the PS4 (i mean, I was already sold by the time they talked about this, but whatever) was the way they described being able to stream a game, have someone watching you play, be able to invite them into the game and take over playing it or play with them. That whole presentation was amazing. I think that SharePlay is still an overlooked feature of the PS4. I hope they just expand on it and make it better on PS5. At this point we already know they are going to have the superior selection of games, it's probably safe to say the price is going to be either $399 or $499 (both quite doable for me) and we know that the Xbox won't be able to do anything that is SO much better it's going to blow our socks off. From what I know thus far, the PS5 is in a clear 'winning' position for next gen.

Re: Rumour: PS5's Graphics Processor Is a Beast

Looking forward to a PS5 official announcement later this year. Can't wait for official specs. My day-one OG PS4 only spins up on certain games like No Man's Sky and Inquisitor. Both my Pro's are also silent except for a few games when they sound like they are going to lift off!

Re: TGS 2018: 'No Plans' for Vita Successor, Says Sony

I'd love another handheld from Sony. They just need to stop using weird hardware and odd screen resolutions. Stop trying to be revolutionary and just give us a handheld that is conformable to hold and has reasonable power. No touch screens on the front or the back. No mysterious, proprietary ports. No overly expensive memory cards. Put in a USB-C charging port. Allow for external controllers and storage and combined with quality Sony exclusives boom, there's a top seller.

Re: PS Now's PS3 Games Can't Be Downloaded, 'Not Compatible' with PS4

To all the armchair developers in this forum that think that the PS3 cannot be emulated on the PS4:

You couldn't be more wrong.

The PS4 has the capability to emulate and play over 1,000 PS3 games natively. This emulator was put together by a team of folks who just got together on the internet and did it. Imagine what Sony engineers with intimate knowledge of the PS3 hardware and the PS4 hardware could do.

Re: Review: Agents of Mayhem (PS4)

I'm having fun with the game so far! It has the feel of Crackdown kinda. With the finding of items on rooftops and such and the cartoony kinda look it has. I like it. I've been playing for about 3 days now and have several agents unlocked. Can't wait for DLC!!!

Re: Poll: Should the PS4 Pro Have a UHD Blu-ray Player?

spoonard

@SanderEvers Not all movies that come on 4K Blu-Ray discs are mastered in 4k, you understand that, right?

http://www.highdefdigest.com/blog/ultra-hd-not-always-4k/

Infact, MOST movies now that are being released in the UHD format are only 2K and are being upscaled by the Xbox One S or by the TV you are viewing them on. So if you want to make a big deal about upscaling instead of native 4k content, you should probably ditch UHD Blu-Rays that don't come from Sony.

Re: Poll: Should the PS4 Pro Have a UHD Blu-ray Player?

In an interview with Andrew House, he said video playback was the #2 use for the PS4 besides gaming. But that STREAMING video was used 5 times more than the Blu-Ray feature. So paying the extra cost to have a UHD drive in the machine when it's not being used even a quarter as mush as Netflix and other streaming solutions just doesn't make sense.

Re: Guide: Mastering Bloodborne's Brutal Basics on PS4

To all those that are new to these games: This is NOT a Devil May Cry kind of game. If you rush into a group of enemies thinking you are going to go all crazy anime style sword action on them, you are going to be disappointed. If you treat it as such you will spend most of you time dying and will probably not get very much out of this game. Be tactical with your aggression. Treat every enemy carefully, as if it could easily kill you, because they can.
