At home we use phone's Wi-Fi router as internet connection and once games are downloaded I play most of them offline (I deactivate the Wi-Fi on the phone). Cloud gaming is not for me.
What PSVR2 players want is to play Half-Life Alyx on Playstation, not to use the PSVR2 headset to play it on PC. That "finally open the door" doesn't make sense on this context.
Problem is that Game Pass, Ps Plus and aggressive discounting models convinced people that games are not something you should pay too much for. It's a complete different paradigm to Nintendo where games keep their value for years.
Also, there was a huge Inflation in the last years, price of food increased, price of loan, interests, increased. People is cutting on superfluous expenses, and gaming is one of them.
Tbh there are no Xbox exclusives I'd really like to play at this point in time, the only one was Stalker but we already heard it would eventually come to Playstation. I may try Starfield but it really seems underwhelming, and spending dozens of hours on a sub-par game is not in my plans. However, I'd like to have Fallout 4 on PSVR2, not sure if this will become an option.
Hiring when things are going well and laying off when profits decreases is a way to discharge company's business risks on employees. That a multi-billion company resorts to this tells a lot about economic liberalism.
Golden is fantastic and holds on special place in my gaming life, it was so intimate to grab the vita, launch the game, listen to the song and re-enter the daily routine of a countryside japanese town, special memories.
But the electro-jazz vibe of vanilla P5 is simply over the top. The artistic value of those games is exceptional.
I had fun with GTAs before 4. Then I got bored with GTA 4, 5 and RDR. Visually beautiful but with outdated gameplay mechanics and quests. Not falling on the hype for this one.
@NinjaSixx I don't buy many games, not sure if Sony likes me too much. I buy a few selected digital games when they are discounted and play them for months. I'm cutting costs a LOT
@NinjaSixx There are many reasons to go digital. I, for example, have two households with a PS5 in each of them, without digital games it would be a pain to travel back and forth with a pack of game disks. I also like to switch daily from a big long adventure-like game and a quick sports game, I would need every single day to swap disks, multiple times.
We don't have any movie subscription service (we have a public library nearby with literally thousands of movies to borrow, many of them bluray) therefore this one for me has some value, we found a few nice movies to watch and will be happy if they add more od even crunchyroll to the premium bonus.
I work in the IT in middle Europe and I've never ever seen one single developer laid off in 25 years or career, nor I ever heard of one laid off by the multiple friends and ex-colleagues working in the field. Firing a talentend developer is a desperation move, before you find another one you can trust, train him and make him integral part of the team you've to invest a LOT of money (and maybe he leaves afterwards).
This being available only on the PS5 limits the feature to a few niche use cases. When it will be available on PC at least, it will be a different story.
We come from 2 consecutive years of 8% Inflation where ALL the products increased price, people seems to forget that.
Moreover, this model introduces 2 advantages: bigger disk and modularity. Modularity will allow you to easily replace the blue-ray drive if it breaks, to send it back for service while keeping the console etc.
@__jamiie We (usually) have symmetrical arms, hands, fingers, eyes. Don't see any reason why we should be more comfortable on using them asymmetrically.
Plus games stays until you have a plus subscription, I've more than 200, if you have a big backlog you may play the monthly games after a year or two, whenever you want. I think this is a big plus over game pass.
This services (both plus ans pass) are not sustainable at this prices, subscription prices will keep raising until they are. People is spending less money on new games because they have monstrous backlogs anyway and they will rather wait foe games to show up on the services.

Re: PS Plus Premium's Classic Catalogue Seemingly Adding Star Wars Rebel Assault 2 Next Month
The first Rebel Assault was my first game ever on CD-ROM. Crappy gameplay, but was a dream.
Re: Guerrilla's Online PS5 Horizon Game Survives Sony Cull
Horizon is basically a Monster Hunter with some backstory, therefore an even more moster-huntery entry would fit well in the lore.

Re: Almost 3,000 PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Epic PS Store Sale
It's interesting that an huge sale is making our "wallet scream in pain", should be exactly the opposite, shouldn't it ?
Or the underlying concept here is that sales makes us buy games that we wouldn't buy ?

Re: 900 PlayStation Employees Laid Off, London Studio Closed
It's the subscription/pass/plus culture, it doesn't work on the long term. Too much content for too small amount of money.
