I remember a few years ago I had so much trouble buying a video card for my brother as his old one gave up service one day. The prices went up so much, thanks to crypto miners, etc, I couldn't believe it. I feel like they are still overpriced for what it's worth. At least it didn't change the console world that much. Anyway, it seems like RAM is the next one...
I don't think it will ever happen, but it would be nice to choose how the world can be populated. So you could then set camp numbers/ groups on the road higher, and I set lower to chill 😀 I am happy with how it is now for yotei.
I expected New game+ next year, it is a nice surprise and I appreciate it. I still play my first playthrough but I am already looking forward to the next round😀
Sometimes I check lists/websites for PC games, and look up specific games from that list on PlayStation. 😄 You can guess, some games are not available on PS, so it feels a bit waste of time.
The wishlist only works properly in the app. Or if I keep the list relatively small. But then I don't understand why the list limit was increased.
@Veritas7Ax I almost always saw this happening, sale after sale. For example, I wanted to try Robocop. The standard version was maybe £5-ish, the whatever was called premium £3 more expensive on the next sale.
Keep an eye on the publisher's special deals, maybe you get lucky and see a deluxe version cheaper than a standard version.
I actually like to shop around in November and December. In the past three years, I bought my main games around the end of the year. If a game is as cheap as £5 all year round with a discount, I won't wait for another £1 discount, just buy it for £5. But other games which were over £40 for the first two years of their release, I was able to get here in the UK for £30 or less.
If it is true that many gamers have a big backlog, I don't see why I couldn't wait till this time of the year for more savings🙂
I played Detroit Become Human and the Witcher 3 during lockdown. I had never played a game where choice mattered before these games. It is a new level of experience. And fun! So I get why you say what you say.
However, checking the price and the 95+ % rate for the game... It's worth checking it out. I will keep an eye on it.
The other day I was reading an article about the planet's resources: "In 2018, it would take 1.7 Earths to replenish the natural resources we will collectively use up as a planet"
I bet it has been increasing exponentially since then.
It can't be a proper solution simply by making everything digital. Nor just ordinary people make sacrifices for the future. It needs to be done by everybody's effort.
I didn't even know there was such a game with new chapters released weekly (or whatever the timeframe is). I find this refreshing and fun. Just a few weeks ago I was watching a TV show on Netflix, 2 new episodes each week. The last time I was watching anything like waiting for new episodes was over 10 years ago. Probably, I enjoyed it more because I couldn't rush through the season as I would normally do.
Back to the game: It's unfortunate that by the time I could play it, all the episodes will be released. I would like to play the game... now I just need to invent a time machine . 😅
To be on the subject: Yes, the Steam Deck can run the game on lower graphics. At the end of the day, Steam Deck is a computer, so buying the game on the Steam store, anyone can play with GoT.
It can also stream games from PlayStation using chiaki4deck. It's basically remote play. You need a good Internet connection for that.
I won't miss it. Most of my points expired month by month, so I thank nothing.
This point collection thing in the app is like when I shop for groceries. The store gives me points if I open the app first, then scroll through all the stuff they want me to buy. I need to activate. Top of that, those vouchers can expire, so I need to keep an eye on that too, for saving what? A couple of pennies or pounds a year? I understand why it's not automatic. I just don't like these practices.
@Jayslow What a nice childhood I had with all those games😀 But I assume we are talking about PC strategy games, not console. If so, you might be interested in looking at some more screenshots: Kknd (alias Krush, kill, 'n' destroy), Dark Colony, Imperium Galactica 1+2, Homeworld, Haegemonia.
So, 2 million copies sold based on a guy's CV? That "evidence" based on what?
This is the current line on those figures in his CV: "• Created cross-platform feature designs including account sign-in, friend/social menus, and haptics UX for Forza Horizon 5 (PS5)."
I don't say Forza doesn't sell well, and the figure can be true... heck, the guy will do a million times better job than I ever will in that field.
@Veritas7Ax You don't know what you are missing out on... the moment I put a disk into the drive and install a game.... It's noisy like I am at the airport 😅 That's the perfect moment to make coffee.
Okay, so digital games will be a few dollars cheaper than physical ones at the start. I wonder is it possible to find good deals later on?
Generally speaking, I am barely impressed with the digital PS games discount. The last time when I found a good deal was Cyberpunk Ultimate for £25. It arrived within days. I think I never saw it on PS stores under £40.
We had Robocop 1 and 2 on VHS 😀
I definitely would like to try the game since I remember the story, and the price tag helps me make that decision, too.
The mafia game is good too. However, I have it on PC.
I am happy with whatever day-to-day gamers choose. I don't want to take away options or change others.
However, it bothers me if I don't get options, and 'forced' to get just one format. I did get a big discount on the PS store: 4 games for £10. It would be much more somewhere else. Now, I kind of feel lucky to have two games from Christmas shopping: I've got FF16 for £12 and Cyberpunk Ultimate for £25. Both are new on disk. The extra cost of disk version PS already paid off.
I wish I could have both formats accessible forever, as that's the best for me.
I can't be mad at you guys who are fully digital. It's your choice. I just wish I would have choices, let's say, 5 years from now, too(I don't think so).
It's funny; I was just thinking about why I put my PS on rest mode all the time.😀 It all started when I added an extra SSD and downloaded a bunch of games in rest mode.
It's not like I can save a lot of loading/booting time like on a PC.
@Zuljaras I see you are full on, not wasting time 😀 I am sure you have a lot of fun with your SD. Currently, I tested some of my childhood games on it and it works well. Can't believe it. Those games are not working on Windows 10. 😄
@Kienda I have been playing it since Christmas, and I have had a good time. I was struggling to memorise names at the beginning. Like, who is fighting here and there? Sometimes, I didn't have a clue what was going on, so I read a bit about the background. Otherwise, enjoyable. You are better off without assistance. I only have an automatic attack from Tortal. Plus, I used automatic healing in the first few missions.
The only bits I don't like/care about at all are the side quests. I just fought a second time with the Titan and found 2 side quests interesting enough.
I am interested in Ghost of Yotei and Mafia games. That's for sure. I am just playing Mafia 1 on PC now and I will replay Ghost of Tsushima on Christmas Day.
I am not sure about the next GTA. I loved the first and third games but I didn't touch the fourth or fifth games. I guess I hold back to see if it is going to be pay-to-win, subscription-based, or any animal.
I am curious about Civilization 7 too, but most likely focus on my first two choices.
Since I lost access to all the digital magazines(an online magazine platform shut down), I am not looking forward to seeing everything in digital. I have other concerns too, since then.
But I hope, one way or another... you have a good time playing games 😉
I guess it is a bit of a character thing:
There is a big age gap between me and my younger brother. I only time watch gameplay nowadays if I can't figure out a puzzle or well-hided collectable. Or In 2000, when our computer broke down.
But my brother has watched a lot of YouTube videos since he was 10, and then at some point, he plays his games. Especially he does with those games like Minecraft and such.
Update:
I just remembered something.
Back in time, my best friend and I got some videos of how pro gamers play Starcraft. My strategy improved significantly, but it wasn't something we would do all the time.
I personally enjoy the handheld options that we have nowadays.
Back in time, when PSP came out, I wanted to have one. But it was just way out of my budget as a student with rent and living expenses. I preferred a pc over a console because I needed a device for studies and games at the same time.
Nowadays, almost everybody's needs can be covered. If you need a gaming handheld only, you are covered. You need a handheld pc: covered.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I have only good experience with Very.co.uk. When we had a PS5 shortage, I was able to buy one for me and one for my friend. And they sometimes the cheapest options for specific items too.
But games-wise, I usually end up buying from Argos. They are a great price; if you spot some real deal on time, I can collect it locally. Last year I got, for example, God of War Ragnarok for £35 and Ghost of Tsushima for £30. Even the second-hand market was higher than that.
I would love to see some statistics who bought Ps Pro from past generations. I guess there was a high percentage of players who didn't have the base console.
Anybody who upgraded from ps4 and ps5, I hope you will get the satisfaction and fun. 🙂
I never wanted to buy any anniversary bundle or item. But this whole situation is 'disgusting'.
Why none of them do anything against it? And why there is no cooperation between all these companies yet? I know, I know I am just one from billions of people, I barely will make changes alone. I am working on not using at all dodgy companies and their dodgy practices.
At least Sony does a step ahead in Japan now. I hope they will figure out something smart for the future disaster.
I have two controllers with some drift issues. I tried to contact Sony last year to see if they are willing to offer to fix or anything. ( I was willing to send at my own cost and pay for all). I just don't like wasting anything; I want to fix it first over buying new.
I hope that means they offer some kind of service over the warranty time.
@itsfoz Lockpicking was awful in the beginning; I couldn't do it. So I saved the game and reloaded God knows how many times. But once I got skill points, it became easy.
I finished the main story last week and I only do a few side quests. Even hard ones are kind of easy to open after increasing your skills.
I am not thinking of ordering anything, but I just remembered my neighbour once ordered a few things from Japan Amazon through a parcel company. I remember he said there were a lot of taxes on it, but it was worth it in his specific situation.
I wonder if it is still possible to do so.
Update: I read the whole article as I should in the first place😀 It is likely will come to Western stores later.
I am still struggling to understand what is the key element for soulslike games. On reddit, I saw many games in different groups. I don't know any of the games from the list above yet, so I guess I am not into it?
Their website seems useless. I was looking for a second-hand game. Their website said which store has a few copies. Went there and they actually don't have any second hand at all. Guys told me that every store's second-hand stock was moved to a central warehouse.
So then why I should bother with it if the information is false. With delivery cost, it wasn't any cheaper than Cex or others in my town.
I feel like GAME's upper management wants to close all their store's doors on purpose one way or another with their practices.
Anyway, what I wanted to say: I can't accept a few deals ever. For example, I never played RD2 or GTA5. Since I have ps, I never saw the price below £18. It's like Titanfall 2 would be always over £15. I got it for £1.99.
I know all my pc games from childhood are much older than ps4 and ps5 games, however some of them still available ( and it's free). I doubt these already 6-10 years old ps games will be available in the future for "pennies").
I guess once we can buy only online games, the deal prices will be even higher than now.
Even though I am a bit disappointed for the "deals", if anyone can recommend any good deal, I am listening.
@ChrisDeku Respectfully I disagree. Nowadays it's all about 120fps, 4k and god knows what metrics. I clearly remember some of my childhood games. They were made between 96- 2005. Back in the time, we were thinking how amazing-looking graphics:D I checked some of those last year, and they look "awful", but enjoyable.
Anyway, I consider it was good time because many dodgy practices didn't exist yet. Or not getting it full on.
The game length varies. I can't talk of each of their own, but my favourite games were strategy games. The storyline of Starcraft 25h, warcraft3 22h, total war games over 30h. I don't want to make you bored with the list because most of the time the multiplayer part was the best bit, not the story(for me).
But hey, what about discussing our past favourite games on another platform, just to relive their "glory". Then have a laugh and fun on PlayStation together?

Have a good time everyone.

I finished the main story last week and I only do a few side quests. Even hard ones are kind of easy to open after increasing your skills.
Re: Uniqlo Introduces Make-Your-Own Monster Hunter Merch Range
I am not thinking of ordering anything, but I just remembered my neighbour once ordered a few things from Japan Amazon through a parcel company.
I remember he said there were a lot of taxes on it, but it was worth it in his specific situation.
I wonder if it is still possible to do so.
Update:
I read the whole article as I should in the first place😀
It is likely will come to Western stores later.
Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?
I am still struggling to understand what is the key element for soulslike games. On reddit, I saw many games in different groups.
I don't know any of the games from the list above yet, so I guess I am not into it?
Re: UK Video Game Retailer GAME Will Reportedly Stop Stocking Video Games
Their website seems useless. I was looking for a second-hand game. Their website said which store has a few copies. Went there and they actually don't have any second hand at all. Guys told me that every store's second-hand stock was moved to a central warehouse.
So then why I should bother with it if the information is false. With delivery cost, it wasn't any cheaper than Cex or others in my town.
I feel like GAME's upper management wants to close all their store's doors on purpose one way or another with their practices.
Re: Over 1,250 Massive PS5, PS4 Games Discounted Right Now
@kirkn
Exactly what you said.
Anyway, what I wanted to say:
I can't accept a few deals ever.
Re: Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement Backtracked on PC After Brutal Review Bombing Campaign
@ChrisDeku
Respectfully I disagree.
