I don't know these games, but I wanted to buy Back 4 blood and Ghost of tsushima before ps extra. I am pleased I paid a bit more for PS extra in December. 😀 I can already play Ghost of tsushima, and B4B is on the way. It's like another Christmas without expecting it 😄
@DaveSimonH , I subscribed to Ps extra in Dec. And I received a deal to upgrade to premium for less than £10. I guess it will come up again soon. Okay, it's extra £10 instead of £7 if you subscribe now, but that's still not bad if you are after Premium.
Personally, I am happy for my Extra deal back in December. But why all the deals are for newcomers? There is any way to extend my subscription for cheaper like these deals?
@NinjaNicky, it's Lidl brand. Only reason I mentioned to everyone because in my local Asda/Currys even Argos didn't have official, only other brands(for the cost is around £20.). And I don't think they are better than this.
I have a few tech stuff from Lidl and Aldi. Mainly stuff are which I don't care about brand. Quality is good. I wouldn't buy PC, laptop, or specific camera from there. Or anything really costly. But I am fine with accessories. And never regret them.
@NinjaNicky So do you have one in the bedroom and another one in the kitchen?!😃
I don't think it's hard to get a ps5 in the UK. I bought mine in summer and I spent only a few hours to seal a deal. I ordered one last week, my friend is just too excited.
By the way, I saw PS5 DualSense Charging Station at Lidl(UK) for £12. Ps4 charger was £10 I think.
I decided to play Ghost of tsushima. Wow, looks awesome. Might end up watching a walkthrough instead of playing it because I am so bad at it. I play Witcher 3 as well in the past week and all I do is messing with women who speak nicely to my character, killing monsters if I can(or run away if they scare me) and ride as fast as I can 😄. I even have to search on the Internet when I don't understand what's going on in main story.
@nyXhc420, I wish a great game experience. I don't know if there is any difference between DE and original versions, but surely I enjoyed the storyline back at the time. And it had a unique radio collection too. I hope all the good stuff what I liked has in this version too.
I don't want to score the game as I never played this kind of game before. I spent 8 hours on ps4 version then waited to get the ps5. I guess nothing to do with the game when I say, ps shows I played 1 hour instead of my hard work hours to getting to Novingrad.
Anyway, I have more bugs on this than on ps4 version, it looks different, I like the extra dualsense controller features. In short
If anyone else is playing it first time like me, I don't think you should wait for patches (if they come). If I stop playing it: it will happen because the game genre is not my cup of tea instead of the bugs.
I am playing Shadow of tactics right now, planning to complete the game in the next few days. I chose it because it reminds me Desperados 1 on PC era. Interestingly this type of game is not my favourite and still, it seems it's going to be my 2. completed game on my PS.
Probably I will stay in the Japanese line and I try Ghost of Tsushima 😉
@Toypop fair enough. Me personally happy for this subscription options because I have a chance to try dozens of games in the next 12 months for the price what a favourite game costs on first weeks. But probably I would have different approach if I would have all the PS consoles when they came out.
After all, I hear you. It is weird that there is a subscription and option to buy individual games too. It reminds me amazon prime videos and after all, rent/buy option, and in certain period they pull out movies/TV shows or add others. In video streaming service , I prefer more like Netflix model: you have subscription and you have access to all the movies/shows what they offer. In Ps world, I would prefer subscription for all the games and that's it. No other cheeky money pulling stuff.
But again, for some gamers like me who never had PS before, it's the way to explore many games.
@Mikey856 , even less right now. I've got an offer for upgrade from extra to premium. It's £0.88 per month. I won't upgrate as I don't have time to play all the ps extra games what I would.
I double checked the list again, and I didn't see worms wmd before. I used to play a lot with Worms armageddon😀 Me and my friends loved it.
As a complete beginner, I struggled to have my save games from PS4 version on my PS5 version. Might I misunderstood something on cross progression post.
Anyway, I just let you know @all: I loaded my last save on PS4 version, made a new save game straight away and that shows on my PS5 version.
So it seems transferring save games won't work on previous saves.
@Mostik It's on my list for a while, and I am glad it's on PS extra subscription. I don't know this yakuza series at all and find hard to start any games which is 15+hours gameplay at least. But can't wait to try a couple of games in 2 weeks, include Judgment 🙂
I didn't play any games seriously over 11 years. Now, with ps5 and black Friday deal subscription I feel like when a child is in a big toy store like Hamleys😅 Almost every game is new to me so I will have an awesome Christmas 😂
@Flaming_Kaiser wow, just wow. That's true passion for a game 🎮. 🙂 I have my own loved one from maybe 2003. I still play it every now and then since I have the compatible version on Steam
I am not into this kind of game in general. But my brother likes it on pc. I bought PS4 version with discount when I read about free upgrade to PS5.
I spent 8 hours on PS4 version and to be honest, I spent that much hours only because of the dialogue videos. I enjoy how the story builds up with those videos. And I start to understand why players liking it.
These kind of statistics are eye opening. If I could know how much time I wasted as a teenager in front of the computer, probably I would do life changing earlier
Well done, you guys have gamer for life spirit I have playstation now about 6 months, played almost 100h and most played game is my first purchase: Titanfall 2 with 28h. I am impressed I did that "long" as I had breaks between the last 3 bosses and thought I played no more than 10h haha.
@Max_the_German Xbox S was under £200 in Europe during Black Friday almost anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised that selling chart was lead by Xbox S, even though they list those figures with series X together.
That is a good thing. It's good to try and see how control works etc before buying. Especially, since I bought a game which looked nice but has rubbish control, and never played it again since. Wasted money... Okay, I know there are only a few games in stores with Demo version, but good to find them quicker.
By the way, why PS store doesn't have review option by people who bought games? It's so annoying, whenever I see a game in SP store, I have to search what people think about a game.
I have an external hard drive with USB, and I copied my videos and saves to my drive on Ps5.
I assume you can do it on ps4 too.
Just search on YouTube something like that " How to copy data from ps4 to USB."
I signed up for ps extra a few days ago. Even if I won't be interested about future monthly games, it is already a big win for me. I never played any of those games from the extra list either. I wish I could effort another career break right now
I didn't play settlers since "settlers 2 : gold edition ". And to be fair I never did any good in campaign. But I enjoyed whatever reason, building up an empire again and again.
But go back to the newest game: After many years later, how this game works? I buy the game and need to subscribe to be able to play? So, basically I pay double price and if some miracle I wish to play with friends again I pay another year or so?
I remember when the first ever time I saw Just dance on Wiii. My younger brother was like 6 years old. Only time he played with anything when somebody played with him, otherwise he wouldn't be interested. Nobody from my family wanted to show how to play as they felt shamed or whatever, so I played with him in Christmas (Back in time like being 24). For a second I felt embarrassed as I am a really terrible dancer guy.(without practice, of course!) But my brother thought I do dance badly on purpose, and he joined. We had then so much fun, we didn't care what the rest of the family thinks. We judged the family to not even trying but looking at us like we are crazy or something. Fun fact: Everybody else tried it at least once, when nobody saw them. And it was fun with friends as well. Just wished there would be some better taste of music (or at least 1-2 songs from each type) and less stupid looking dancer.
@MakersMark I just looked up "St Patrick day, evolution", what you mentioned earlier. Mainly, because I wanted to see a gameplay video or something before I judge.
I found only one video, where a guy promotes this kind of games as quick trophy earning in 20 mins. I thought, okay, somebody is into it, but it doesn't hurt saying it. But then I read comments how cool is the game. Bit I was shocked as I don't want to pay anything for a 20 mins game at all. I mean, 20 mins for the whole game?!
And then someone commented there that he (or she?) likes playing with it while doing exercise with cross trainer. I was like: Okay, I get sometimes bored to while I run or being in the gym... But playing this kind of games on PS? How can you do that? I would love to see a camera recording.
I was searching one day for a cheap but still good-looking quick entertainment game. I bought a tank game, hoping I have fun, which doesn't take more than 5 or 10 mins in a match. The control is awful, I can't enjoy it. It feels like when I first played a shooting game on PS after decades of mouse and keyboard combo. No, it is even worse!
Anyway, I completed the first 3 levels and I already have 1 platinum and 3 gold trophies... I wish a real entertainment for 5-10 mins instead of these nonsense trophies... Never again...
I wonder what is your thoughts (from newcomers) between this game and Yakuza zero.
I hesitate which game shall I try. I am not sure I would be intrested to play all of the games but I would like to give a try and experience the franchise.
I saw both have long gameplay time. I am not a big fan of it as I usually struggle on some stages and quit or I just get bored as it gets repeated.
However, A well build story help me to get through, so I hope it's not like some tv shows where creators added 2 more seasons making money instead of making a good whole series.
Other then that, I saw a physical version of Back 4 blood for £10. What is your experience with this game? Did you like it? If yes, why? If not, why not?
I grew up when pc magazines were shining, best resource of games, news, cheats and walkthrough. No tv channel, nor YouTube etc.
What I liked is that I had plenty of time getting experience in games between each monthly magazines. It was paced, kind of controlled situation. Even if I completed already a game, I loved reading about them. Some games had amazing stories, but in the same time I read about developers and sometimes reading about their stories. I loved knowing more than just about the game itself.
Personally, I barely look up e.g. YouTube gaming videos. First, I don't like spoiling a game experience. Second, I prefer playing instead of watching others playing. But I admit, recent times can give you so much help if you struggle. E.g. gameplay from others in specific area, advice, different perspectives etc.
Digital vs physical version stat says a lot. I remember my last big cd shopping for PC was around 2008. I bought a few second hand games just for nostalgia later, however big games are cheaper every now and then on e.g. Steam.
The other hand, since I have a Ps, I found some second hand games which were even cheaper than digital version with discount. But to be fair, it made me think . I am not sure, it was worth spending extra £100 for disc version of PS. At least not in my case just for gaming.
I can only talk about my situation, being on Steam for more than 10 years(where pc gamers online Store has over 70k games). I didn't even know until last month that some PS games were ported to PC. I didn't invest on my PC every 2-3 years, so I am more like retro gamer instead of playing always newest AAA games. There are so much games on Steam, and PS games don't stand out from the crowd in my opinion. Don't take me wrong, many of them are great games. However, there was life on Steam before ported games and I am telling you, there are many amazing games out there already. There are a few game categories which are more likely playable on PC than PS.(if it would exist on console). Some gamers like (Only?) those type of games.?
Might ported games are not as popular yet as it expected but I like the idea. Maybe some better marketing is needed or time to spread the "word" between PC communities.
I considered pricey for Dualsense controller £50. And this edge controller for £210? Way too expensive in my opinion. First, I thought it's a good idea to be able to replace any parts if it doesn't work anymore. I read that replacement parts are about £25.
Summary: 4 times more expensive controller with ( I consider) expensive parts. Thanks, but no thanks.
I have two good friends from my childhood. One of them was/is a big movie fan and the other one is a big computer games fan. Interestingly, they have kind of the same addiction effect when it comes to a new movie/game. I clearly remember how my friend struggled day to day because he couldn't wait to see the next Matrix, or the other guy couldn't wait for a game which was just under development. In both cases, we are talking about (at least) another 6-8 months before it comes out!
With respect, I never really understood this behaviour, as I only felt this way for 1 game and that's it. I always thought it happened because I was still “just” a child. Whenever something came out unofficially, they were like a child with sugar rush or even worse. But interestingly, they were exited in a good way when they read about official announcement is coming in the next days or so.
Seeing all the good and bad of their own my friends, I believe we need to let the companies do their way of communication and not this kind of “influencers/YouTubers and other nonsense professionals”. Sorry if my last sentence sounds a bit offensive. But my point is that I don't respect any type of this behaviour. Especially, because it does hurt employees work effort, gamers community and trust.
Haha, I like how most of the reactions are worrying instead of exciting about updates for a modern day audience I assume you have a good reason (from experience) to think that way.
I would love to see a comedy version game of the game (like a funny movie from another one). Imagine the main character walks with his smartphone, looking for the target on Google Maps, and the “bad” guys are clueless about him… “Is he a threat?” And the other guy just says: “Relax, he is a civil person… Don't you see, he has a phone in hands and barely look up? “
I was always a PC gamer before I had a break from gaming.
Recently, I bought my first ever console with 2 second hand games (Battlefield 1 because I loved battlefield 1942 on PC and Titanfall2).
Man, I like Titanfall2 storyline, I didn't play battlefield yet as I was too busy with the other one
I was always a big fan of Strategy games on PC, so I “have to” be open-minded when it comes to PS games.
After all, I don't think it is fair to vote in my case, but I am here to read other players recommendations

First, I thought it's a good idea to be able to replace any parts if it doesn't work anymore. I read that replacement parts are about £25.
Summary:
4 times more expensive controller with ( I consider) expensive parts.

Re: Splinter Cell Remake's Story Is Being Rewritten and Updated for a Modern-Day Audience
Haha, I like how most of the reactions are worrying instead of exciting about updates for a modern day audience
I assume you have a good reason (from experience) to think that way.
I would love to see a comedy version game of the game (like a funny movie from another one). Imagine the main character walks with his smartphone, looking for the target on Google Maps, and the “bad” guys are clueless about him…
“Is he a threat?”
And the other guy just says: “Relax, he is a civil person… Don't you see, he has a phone in hands and barely look up? “
Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite PS4 Games
I was always a PC gamer before I had a break from gaming.
Recently, I bought my first ever console with 2 second hand games (Battlefield 1 because I loved battlefield 1942 on PC and Titanfall2).
Man, I like Titanfall2 storyline, I didn't play battlefield yet as I was too busy with the other one
I was always a big fan of Strategy games on PC, so I “have to” be open-minded when it comes to PS games.
After all, I don't think it is fair to vote in my case, but I am here to read other players recommendations
