I don't see the logic in hating digital. Sony doesn't control the prices of Third-Party Devs' games, not once have I experienced or heard of another's experience of anyone else getting a game, not a movie, removed from their library by Sony, and even for the people who just prefer the disc, most of the time the game isn't on it and is just used to download it anyways.
Update: Activision is looking into it and working on solutions. As of now server side they did 'the first phase' of addressing the XP issue. Players affected have been reset to Level 20 so they can play and progress again.
There's some new lows this sale, but not many I myself am interested in or don't already own. Got Sonic Mania for 5 bucks, and the PowerWash Sim 2 Adventure Time DLC for $1.20 off. Not much but it's an excuse to get it sooner. But I've got such a big backlog I can always wait for sales on console to catch up with Steam sale prices. They may only be a couple dollars in difference, but I can wait.
Cautiously looking forward to this. The changes could either make an amazing game even better, or it could be the nail in the coffin for the IP. Regardless, gonna get my money's worth out of it though, and do separate Co-op Playthroughs starting from Easy to Legendary. Wondering if they'll send out the Fanta Skin codes on the Early Access Release or wait until the normal one.
@8thDoctor Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 1 released on PS4 in 2014, has no Crossplay, and you can still find lobbies for the 3 main Game Modes in 2026. If something that niche can stay alive that long, something as popular as BLOPS 1 & 2 won't have playerbase issues anytime soon. The original 360, PC, & PS3 versions didn't have Crossplay either, and you can still very much find lobbies for those.
The price will be the main reason to no longer get consoles. Between that, the current backlog, and the fact they're still making PS4 & XBO versions of a lot of games, I don't see a reason to move to the next console Gen. It's not exactly like the AAA games that'll need it are exactly knocking it out of the park in terms of appeal for most either.
@nessisonett Same. Even if they just re-listed the PS4 & XBO versions of Ultimate Alliance 1, Ultimate Alliance 2, Transformers Devastation, & Fall of Cybertron, and re-enabled the servers, that'd be huge.
I'm down for more of these simple ports like they did early on for the PS4 & XBO. Gimmie PS4 & PS5 ports of any of the Transformers or Marvel games next. Marvel licensing I'm unsure of, but Hasbro will gladly license out the Transformers IP without hesitation to fund their own gaming studio and promote their toylines.
PS5, Series X, & Switch /2 are gonna be a lot of people's last consoles I imagine. They wanna charge $1K for consoles and $100 for games with no discs? Fine, but they severely underestimate the average person's backlog and general lack of interest in modern AAA games that'd need those new consoles.
Feels like a waste not to port it to everything and have the only change be Cross-Play on new servers. They're Backwards Compatible on Xbox, but the Multiplayer experience is awful because of hackers.
Honestly, it shouldn't matter to Microsoft if most of the games in that list underperform. Because let's be real, most of them only exist to be permanent Game Pass titles they don't have to rent from other companies, and wouldn't have been greenlit otherwise. Even if engagement with them is low, just by being their they've essentially fulfilled their purpose. Obviously it'd be great if they sold well and were well received, but realistically most had low ceilings. I do appreciate them trying more things though, even if the characters and art styles can be rather... unappealing, more often than not.
I feel like this was either announced or leaked at one point beforehand already, so the fact that there's 42 SKULLS stood out way more and should alarm anyone trying to Platinum this game if it has LASO. Because it'll either be challenging but possible or near impossible for anyone not cracked at the game.
There's a LOT of unnecessary jobs and positions in a company like Ubisoft, so it's always hard to tell if I should feel bad or not when something like this happens knowing that. Especially since about a decade ago at this point they already fired all their best employees for cheaper, inexperienced people.
Dang, I said if it was priced properly I'd pick it up, and $50 is fine for a Remake. Zero chance I'm paying $20 extra for Early Access, cosmetics, & art books I'll never look at though.
$20 for the Marvel vs Capcom Collection is great. Even if you're just casually interested in Fighting Games, the fact it has the Punisher Beat 'Em Up is awesome.
Wondering if Capcom plans on delisting it soon or they just... forgot to put it back on a sales rotation after a point. Which happens more than you'd think for these older games and bigger game companies.
If the few other Co-op games had online I'd bite, but I'm not sure I agree just X-Men Arcade is worth full price, at least without the personal nostalgia factor.
None of my price trackers went off for the things I had set to new lows or ones set to previous lows, so RIP. Guess I'll be banking on the Xbox Spring Sale having more 360 and OG Xbox games I'm missing.
@NonbinaryStarr Because whoever was in charge of the Twitter account was instigating people to predicable results as have been shown time and time again this plays out. But instead of acknowledging that or that the gameplay ended up being bad outside of design or story choices anyways in the end, people will just go 'it's the chuds fault', even though they were told their sales weren't wanted or needed.
I'm always surprised Marvel games don't feature Black Cat more. You'd think they'd jump at the opportunity to use their equivalent of Catwoman more often, especially since you could lump her into any story that takes place in New York without needing Spider-Man. Excited to see her get some attention, and interested to learn more about this White Fox lady, always excited to learn more about a fox character.
Tried it when I had Game Pass. It wasn't bad and had some good moments from what I played, but it got repetitive really fast. Ultimately it just felt like a boneless Fallout 4 to me, as they stripped a lot of the meat from the already not too complex combat, upgrades, & general mechanics. I'd definitely recommend it, but not until a decent sale.
Have they considered actually making games that interest the Japanese? Most games made with them in mind also appeal to Westerners in 2026, so it seems like a no brainer.
Gonna be grabbing the Crash N. Sane Trilogy & Spyro Trilogy Bundle for just over $20 after tax, it's a new lowest price and $20 for 6 great games is a steal.
"Unremarkable story" is definitely a Con I should've seen coming from a Review about a game in a Genre entirely about the gameplay on a PlayStation website.
I miss MultiVersus. If they didn't immediately put Player First Games to the guillotine before it even ended I'd hope for a proper release that isn't live service. Unless they're done chasing live service stuff, whatever's planned is probably gonna disappoint everyone.
Playing Starfield just made me want to replay Fallout 4 after a certain point. They're the same game for the most part, except Starfield stripped a ton of stuff Fallout 4 did and made it as basic and boring as possible. Spaceship fights are cool, but get repetitive real quick.
From what I've heard they got a decent amount of funding from Tencent, which would mean they pretty thoroughly lied to gamers to look better. Wouldn't be the first time Jeff Keele's show had a Tencent plant LARPing as being for Indies or being one of them. Wonder how much they're paying that shill.
Sounds like they made every possible wrong choice for a new version of a game, where they already made every wrong choice on already the first time. I'd be more surprised if this release didn't kill any faith in the new Dead or Alive entry.
It's a boneless Fallout 4. Fallout 4 was a great game but a terrible Fallout game. It just had to be the same thing but in an original setting, and instead they stripped out and over simplified everything to the point where it just makes me wish I was playing Fallout 4 again instead.
Sounds like they're gonna be heading down a worse path. Working on multiple projects at the same time already shows unimpressive results, and now they're gonna be doing it with one less year for each project? Gonna be a win-win to Microsoft though, more content for Game Pass even if it's bad AND they still get to yell at Obsidian for bad sales.
