Re: 'We All Want Skate to Be Great': Skate Dev Pledges Improvements After Early Access Launch Issues

pukana

They didn’t listen to everyone’s concerns during early access & many of the problems were issues raised back then.

It doesn’t feel like it was made for skaters or fans of the original games.
It’s made for the Fortnite generation that are used to being nickel & dimed with subpar cosmetics & level design.
While the mechanics are great, the flat maps, missing game modes & tricks from the last 3 games, single player campaign & refusal to embrace skate culture make it easy to get bored after a couple of hours.

I’ve gone back to playing Skate 3 on the steam deck because it’s just more fun.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Potential $80 PS5 Games?

pukana

I think GTA 6 is the only game I’d pay that much for - because I know it’ll be relatively polished & contain lots of quality content.

If it’s a Ubisoft game, I’ll wait until it’s on sale just because I know it’ll be slop on release. In saying that, it’s been a while since I even bought a Ubisoft game.

No way I’d pay that for an EA game too.

Re: Ubisoft Spins Off Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six into New Subsidiary with Tencent

pukana

@Areus it’s like they’ve been will fully trying to kill those franchises off. Even Rainbow Six Seige lost its way with its fantasy skins & gadgets. Almost anything they brought out with Tom Clancys name in the last 10 years had nothing to do with Clancy’s characters, writing or semblance of realism.

It reminds me of when COD jumped the shark. There’s nothing quite as immersive as playing a WW2 game & getting fragged by Mickey Mouse.

Bring back Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six (Vegas & the originals), & tactical Ghost Recon.

Re: Ubisoft Teases Rainbow Six: Siege X, the Game's 'Biggest Transformation'

pukana

They should’ve left Seige when it was good & then started work on a sequel with a new engine & go back to the Tom Clancy vision & realism. I lost interest a couple of years ago when it became more of an e-sports tactical hero shooter.

In saying that, I’d prefer a Rainbow six Vegas single player/co-op game or them have a go at Patriots again.

Being Ubisoft, I know they’d ***** it up though

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows' Now 'Super Fluid' Parkour Was the Reason for Its Second Delay

pukana

I wish they’d evolved the parkour & let us have more control, like Rooftops & Alleys or the swinging & air moves in Spider-Man. Mirage felt like they just reused the same old code from the early 2000’s & those teleport assassination animations were just lazy & half assed.

Hopefully the combat isn’t the crappy hack n slash clipping animations it’s been since origins too but I don’t expect Ubisoft to innovate & excel at anything these days.

In other news, I’ve been replaying Splinter cell Blacklist on the Steam deck & it still feels like it was made with some passion, unlike any Ubisoft game I’ve played in the last 10 years.

Re: Hitman Studio Will Remove All Conor McGregor Content After Court Ruling

pukana

@Jaz007 what makes you think the allegations are far fetched?
This is just one rape charge that stuck because the victim stood up to the threats & attacks outside her house before the court case.

There’s a history of his victims having their houses broken into, cars burnt, witnesses getting attacked until they withdrew their charges.

McGregor’s sister is married to one of the Kinahan gang (do a bit of research & look them up). They do a bit of a number on people who don’t stay quiet from his shenanigans.

He was a scum bag before he got into the UFC & he’s even moreso now that he’s famous & has money.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Clocks Native 4K/120fps on PS5 Pro Via Game Boost, Pre-Enhanced Patch

pukana

@TrickyDicky99 oh so you can play PSVR2 with GT Sport on your PS4 can you?
Are the physics & weather systems the same as Sport?
If you haven’t got the game, then you can’t comment.
There’s way more content in GT7 & you’ve got Sophy AI on a lot of the tracks & in game raytracing on the PS5 Pro only.

Just because you have an engine that’s scalable to old hardware & new - like COD, No Man’s Sky, etc doesn’t mean it’s old gen.

But yeah you do you & keep enjoying GT Sport. It was a great game. GT7 is just better, but you’ll never know.

Re: Metro Awakening Will Be a Reason to Own PSVR2 This Holiday

pukana

Yeah the mura, reprojection & small sweet spot in my psvr2 annoy me enough to prefer the Quest 3 for anything I can run through the PC.

I just wish we had the PSVR2 level of haptics.

I’m surprised that Sony’s been pretty quiet on what the Pro is going to do for VR, apart from PSSR.

If GT7 got rid of reprojection & upgraded to the same level as the flat version, I’m all in.
(Triple screen support or motion compensation would be on the wish list too but I’m being realistic 😂)

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows' Japan Looks Stunning in New Open World Showcase

pukana

If it’s the same hack n slash bloated crud as the last few ones, I’m not interested.

Always wanted an Assassins Creed game based in Japan as it would be a great setting for parkour & actual assassinations.

But now, even if Ubisoft did go back to its AC roots, I don’t feel like the gameplay & original combat would have evolved or any effort put into it. I mean AC Mirage had those lazy teleporting kills because they couldn’t be arsed solving how to animate between the kills.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they put Sam Fisher in the game as DLC either.

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

pukana

It’s still way cheaper than a comparatively priced PC.

The good thing is if we don’t like it, we don’t have to buy it.
The PS5 is still there. No need to cry.

I’m just disappointed there’s no Dual Sense controller with Hall effect sensors.

Re: Ubisoft Investor Calls for Company to Go Private, and CEO Yves Guillemot to Be Replaced

pukana

How many IPs are they sitting on & have barstadised? Tom Clancy would’ve been rolling in his grave a long time ago.

How about a proper Rainbow Six Vegas game? A new Splinter Cell might be coming but I don’t have any faith in the company.

They stopped innovating a long time ago & the top layers of management should be turfed out…especially the morons who tried to push their Quartz NFT crap that no one wanted.

…but hey here’s 9 more Assassins Creed games that have nothing to do with Assassination or what made them great in the first place.

Re: 80s Synthpop Stars Heaven 17 Resist the Temptation of PS5's GTA 6

pukana

@MrPeanutbutterz agreed, whoever was collating those tunes did know their stuff. But they aren’t a major part of the game & the music is a snapshot of content that has already been produced.

Given the 80’s tracks are so old & most likely aren’t generating the revenue they once did back in the day, having the music on GTA could propel more sales & listens/playlists etc on other platforms.

Maybe for tracks that have been produced & written for the game should get royalties & I do think if a soundtrack is created, everyone should get paid more along with royalties. Maybe newer artists should get more since they haven’t had the opportunity to make much money off their work - controversial opinion probably.

But the game isn’t a music platform. As a user, I’d rather have more tracks than a huge chunk of the budget used up for a small amount of songs.

At the end of the day, an offer was made & the artist doesn’t have to like it or accept it.
It could lead on to a better financial outcome overall, but they’ll never know & we won’t hear it in the game, until it comes out on PC & we can play whatever we want.

Re: 80s Synthpop Stars Heaven 17 Resist the Temptation of PS5's GTA 6

pukana

@Deoxyr1bose well assuming they at least maintain the status quo & license a minimum of 500 songs, that’s $3,500,000 on radio station music alone. Not to mention paying the multiple radio DJs & writers just for this minor part of the game.
Don’t forget there is 8 years of dev , writers, artists salaries to pay for (excluding any more delays), the r&d &, other licenses, marketing etc. Sure, it may go on to break records in the future, but there’s a huge cost upfront, along with the risk the publisher will take.

They’re not being played on Spotify or a music service. It’s a subset of a subset of an element in a very large game

Re: Days Gone Director Roasts 'Small Game' Astro Bot PS5 for Deacon St John Cameo

pukana

I enjoyed Days Gone & love Astrobot, but this guy’s a dick.

He tries to ***** on another game that’s paying homage to his. He should know better.

I wouldn’t have minded a Days Gone sequel, but with his attitude, ***** him & ***** that game.

I hope he gets sentenced to making Ubisoft’s formulaic meh for eternity & Astrobot gets all the accolades it deserves.

Re: Assassin's Creed Remakes Are on the Way, Ubisoft Confirms

pukana

Hey Ubisoft, instead of squeezing blood out of a stone, how about a Rainbow Six Vegas remake?

We’ve still got to see anything about the Splinter Cell remake too.

(I was really looking forward to the Splinter Cell VR game, but you dropped that obviously for the Assassins Creed sausage factory).

Also wondering if it’s possible for Ubisoft to create a whole new franchise & gameplay that isn’t following some trend or reskinning the Watchdogs or Far Cry model these days?

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Demands Always Online Internet Connection, Campaign Included

pukana

@Danloaded yeah I think it’s all the textures of the microtransaction skins they use. Even if you never buy any, they’re all stored so you can see other players that maybe have them. There’s so much bloat in these games. I wish you could just restrict the skins to reflect the era & relevance to the game.

I miss the days when a COD game didn’t have SpongeBob or Rick & Morty characters running around the battlefield.

Re: Seasons in Assassin's Creed Shadows Change Gameplay, Setting

pukana

@Dampsponge yeah that’s what I mentioned in my comment.
Not many shadows & the Assassinations looked more like open fights. Not what you’d really expect from a trained Assassin.

I guess like how all current Ubisoft Tom Clancy titles have nothing but Tom Clancy in name, we have to accept the Assassins Creed games have nothing to do with Assassins Creed but the name…and microtransactions.

Re: Seasons in Assassin's Creed Shadows Change Gameplay, Setting

pukana

Always wanted a great Assassins Creed game set in Japan. Thought it would be a great setting for parkour & stealth gameplay.

The cutscenes didn’t really indicate any of that? Is this going to be another open world Golden Axe hack n slash game with RPG elements? Or a proper evolution of what the original Assassins Creed game used to be?

Would really like to have seen how the parkour mechanics could’ve evolved for current gen but they just became an after thought in the last few games.

Re: Reaction: What Is Happening to the Video Games Industry and Why Are There So Many Layoffs?

pukana

It just seems to be that any team that eventually gets bought out by a bigger entity (which sometimes even gets bought out or merged with another) is inevitably going to be on the chopping block for some poor decision making by someone at the top of the food order, in order to save themselves for the shareholders.

Maybe AA or Indy & staying that way is the way to go, until they can grow big enough to make their own rules.

Re: Layoffs Hit Until Dawn, Dark Pictures Dev Supermassive Games, 90 People Affected

pukana

I always think that if CEO’s and the higher execs make these decisions to cut costs, then they should also be taking a huge pay cut & absolving themselves of any bonuses or payouts for the next 5 years.
It shows their failure as leaders to perform & an incompetence to come up with the creative solutions they’re paid for. Not just the lazy (cut x percent of staff to save costs or increase profits for the shareholders).

I know it’s not always that simple, but a lot of these measures are just to make the books look good

Re: Upgraded PS5 Pro Planning to Be the Best Place to Play GTA 6

pukana

@Vil I’m not really sure about that. How many games are we already getting with a 30fps ray trace mode or 60fps no ray tracing?

I’m definitely getting one if it means I can run every game at 60fps max settings & PSVR 2 games have reprojection off & graphics closer to the flat screen version.

Re: Fans Outraged at Rocksteady's Handling of Hero Deaths in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

pukana

It’s embarrassing how people will get butt hurt over characters that don’t exist, getting killed, which will still re-appear in other forms of media & story tellings all over again.

The real crime is this game was designed around games as a service from the start. Not every story has to have a happy ending - if it did, games as a service would be the thing getting killed.

Re: TMNT: The Last Ronin Dev Reportedly Cut in Half After Layoffs

pukana

Hi hope a lot of these job losses are down to bad or decisions from their corporate leaders to chase trends & push stupid things like NFTs or games as services, instead of being actual leaders & becoming the trends.

It looks like all the actual people that are the meat & potatoes of the company lose their jobs while the incompetent ***** pat themselves with big bonuses & payrises with the money they’ve saved by firing people.
