Oh no, Xbox will try and see what they can do with Xbox exclusivity. It was never meant to go to PS5, it was Phil Spencers reaction to PlayStation but, the question is, like everything Xbox hypes up, is it all just an illusion? (Good marketing) Once you actually play it, is it good.
The truth is, Kojima sold out. If I would have been in the shoes of the Konami exec who cut Kojima loose, I would've absolutely done the same thing. His ego was beyond inflated. Look at the credits for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. He names appears over 300 times in the credits, thats preposterous! He caved to pressure and started doing open world games and theyve all sucked. MGSV, terrible. Death Stranding, terrible, and this is before he went to Xbox. Plus, he was always having nervous breakdowns in interviews after game releases, really unstable. As well, PlayStation took care of this guy. They built his name on PlayStation where he was a nobody on the MSX2 and when Konami canned him, PlayStation gave the guy a home.... And he just goes to Xbox ... That makes a lot of sense and it gratitude for ya, isnt it. He ported Death Stranding to Xbox... Xbox did nothing to earn the guys trust and make him who he is today. Even with his integrity and pride shot, Id have fired him from Konami, hes washed up.
Anyway, OD theoretically cant run on PS5 (theoretically) because Xbox uses Cloud computing because the console cant do the work itself and so supposedly it cant be done. Supposedly.....
@wildcat_kickz Not when you look at the numbers. Xboxs camp left under Spencer, all those fans waited and when it arrived, they bought. Thats a lot of Xbox fans that bought up their experience but on a PlayStation.
Like always, you just kick back and relax and watch it all play out. I dont know if its the flip-flop necessarily like Spencer, but its a flip-flop with regards to Spencer. Sharmas making a huge mistake, she knows it, and her pride has gotten to her. Shes gonna try and stick to it as long her struggling business will let her. She doesnt want to look like the woman who failed, but Sarah Bond beat her to it. It was a stupid choice and a desperate one, but it'll come in time, it has too and Nadella will tell her, maybe, he'll bail her out, but then again, business isnt that forgiving and anyone will do anything to save their own skin. If Sharma blows it, Nadella will hang her out to dry and go over her anyway, because hes the boss and if the Board pressures with: WHAT HAS SHE DONE! WHAT HAVE YOU LET HER DO! ALL THAT MONEY ON THE TABLE, she'll have to wear it.
Its already been done. I have Gears of War Reloaded on my shelf. Marcus Fenix has already appeared on PlayStation ane come July, Master Chief is there too. Its over, the damage has been done GEARS OF WAR IS ALREADY ON PLAYSTATION and if Sharma holds off, PlayStation will ship a bunch of games all at once to distract their consumers and bring there attention back to where majority of consumers are at. Sharma made a good move with Halo and Fable, but Gears was the miss she made. BAD MOVE and she'll regret it. Thats all PlayStation has to do is put their first party out front and fire out a bunch of games to prove they've always done it better and with greater variety. The Xbox Showcase (they totally stole the SHOWCASE thing from Sony) had more FPS than anything! Xbox is still the FPSbox
Had Sony not ditched Evolution Studios, they would have had racing games between Gran Tourismo games so, whoevers genius idea it was to shut down Evolution Studios..... This could've all been solved with some patience. Motorstorm was successful and it was a development team that had patience and understanding, but Sony couldnt be patient and understanding? Sony gives up devs like Evolution, but greenlights LSGs? PlayStation isnt looking like a Studio that knows games and gamers, but instead are looking like Xbox thats completely clueless and run by ignorant corporate execs.
Intergalatic, however, seven years and no game? $500 million budget to a niche crowd with a woke/progressive/Marxist game? Druckmann and Newmans jobs are on the chopping block for sure, and its gonna be up to Shaun Escyag to take to devs back to traditional/conservative game development to bring Uncharted back

This is B.S.!!!! ALL this is is an Xbot hurrah for taking Sonys last third-party exclusive, thats all it is.
When this game was released in 2007, all anyone ever did was gripe and complain about it. "The gameplay sucks", "the cutscenes are too long", "is this a movie or a video game?" It has to be Kojimas most criticized game. And now, its supposed to be different for a MULTI-CONSOLE RELEASE!?
With Asha Sharma "taking the reigns" of Xbox, Xbots are back to singing the usual "exclusives are critical to the success of consoles". Well?????
Why am I getting all bent out of shape out of this? Because I picked up Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on launch night while Xbots laughed and taunted us and at school scrolling through the gaming news listened the gaming community a whole bad mouth and criticize the game. Thats all this is, its an illusion, its Xbots reveling in the same thing PlayStation fans reveled in when Marcus Fenix showed up on their PlayStation after Jim Ryan went spineless without a fight and MLB The Show not only showed up on Xbox, but was given away for free by Phil Spencer because he didnt have to shell out a dime for it and wanted something from Sony quality name so badly to move his service, that well, once he had it he could and would and did give it away for free.
Heres the problem, and Im not the only one, I know. We learned this, most, during the release of Indiana Jones and I still dont have it and havent played it to this day because. I originally got it on Xbox and found out that only two-thirds of the game was actually on the disc. The rest of it has to be downloaded because the Xbox Series disc is only 50GB dual-layer so, I returned it. A lot of people were saying the PS5 release would see the whole game on the disc because PS5 UHD discs are 100GB dual layer. Well, when it released on PS5, it was 200MB on a 100GB disc so, I was out.
Today, you have to actually look up online to find out Xbox is jerking your chain if your a physical media collector like me (which obviously has its benefits with modern DRM polices and all that other nonsense). I'm willing to bet Gears of War E-Day will be exactly the same and will get exactly the same result whether its on PS5 or not. If that wasnt the case, I'd probably still get it on Xbox because Ive always played Gears of War on Xbox, just like I wouldnt play God of War on Xbox, if it ever happened. Ive always played Dead or Alive on Xbox hardware, even though its also on PS because after the Dreamcast, I got all the games on Xbox and even though Xbox claimed they supporter physical media, not having a complete game on a disc is pathetic.
Now, how about Wolverine? 100% completely on the disc and a physical media release. I'M IN! PlayStation supports physical media, STILL! PS6 likely wont, and thats when I stop buying consoles. Switch 2 just has their cards that have codes on them, well, Switch 2 was the ONLY console I passed up on and still dont have one and dont intend to ever get one. Xbox Helix won't have a disc drive and we've already determined that issue, I have only 4 or 5 Xbox Series games, everything else is passed over or I got on PS5.
So, Gears of War E-Day vs Wolverine? The fact the whole game is on a disc makes it an easy decision. Wolverine. If the whole game is pressed on a disc? Gears of War E-Day, but I highly doubt that'll be the case
@LeeBB_Art Its whats always been hoped for, but never will happen. Of course, to really he successful and bring back awesomeness, SEGA needs to divorce themselves from Sammy and Xbox, already well on their way, needs to disappear. I really dont think people understand exactly just how badly Sammy holds SEGA back. Wouldnt it be cool and Tom Kalinske and Al Nielson came back to run it MAYBE bring Peter Moore out of soccer and back to games
THE CONSUMER WINS! DEATH TO GAMES AS A SERVICE AND LIVE SERVICE GAMES!!!! SCREW YOU MICROSOFT and your push to merge the mobile game market and PC market business models with consoles. YOU LOST! Now Sony can go back to story-driven single-player experiences they've always done so we can get a new game on friday, lock ourselves away with a case of Surge, a mason jar, and not come out again until monday except to get the door for Papa Johns. The good ol days of gaming are coming back. Asha, you're finished! Or in the immortal words of Shoa Kahn: "FINISH HER!"
Yeah, Shift Up doesnt need Sony anymore. Not like relationships back on the PS2/Gamecube era where relationships and loyalty meant something. Microsoft came along and opened their fat checkbook and gave you the world you have today. Whoopie.....
Let them continue to talk and bury themselves. Sony has a really smart marketing team thats watching all of this unfold. All the indecision and flip-flopping and they're making notes. PlayStation could stand to send Hulst back to where he belongs and keep him there as PlayStation has been dragging its feet since Jim Ryan took over. MAYBE, finally, put Scott Rodhe at the helm, its time. Rodhe is also in the U.S. where they can manufacture consoles and the heart of silicon valley. I digress.
PlayStation has traditionally had a really good marketing team beginning with Steve Race who came out of SEGA and mimmiced SEGA. Just like Tretton blasted Phil Spencer, Mark Cerny is listening to Sharma flap her gums and play the woke femanist role (watch me destroy the weak little man before me), but even in how Cerny speaks in a little.... ya know so he might actually understand Sharmas language (her way of thinking) so hes taking notes and quietly waiting in her shadow. PlayStation is smart. They know what gamers want and have been in the business, Sharmas a noob. Just wait it out
It was known from the very beginning it wasnt gonna work. The media tried to sell everyone on it but consumers were smarter that proves the media are tools that do what they're told and say what they're told rather than a reliable source for information, and those without a degree know more and write better with far fewer grammatical errors remembering what they were taught in Middle School about editing.
To the point, the rising generation is finding what a curse the internet actually is to gaming and a chunk of them are wising up, which also effects Game Pass. When your internet goes out, you're up the creek. The Xbox One was correct about one thing, DRM has taken over, even Steam has bought into it so you dont even own what you buy on the digital front. Its like renting an apartment verses equity in buying a house. Consumers are becoming smarter and listening to the Nostalgianerds in buying physical media, which kills Game Pass. But lets not forget either Xbox releases physical media, but a minimal about of data (200MB for Indiana Jones for example) is on a 50GB disc so you actually have to search the Internet these days when it comes go buying an Xbox game "off the shelf" to see if the game is actually on the disc, which these days, its not
Agreed. I want to get rid of trophies on my list that I played and got some trophies and never did much with that are just an eyesore. I agree with that part. Having an actual Meta-like (PlayStation Home) space to display trophies would be cool too or a dynamic screen that shows them, something cool like that. Xboxs achievement system has always been boring though. A number never compares to an actual trophy kind of deal though
Its just JezCardon, or whatever his name is, trying to sound important and stay relevant, but its all rumor. Sony will still port games to PC. MLB The Show is in the works to move on to PC. What PlayStation IS trying to do, because they got so much flac from requiring PC gamers to have a PlayStation account so they could build a trophy collection, was just too much to ask out of anyone getting something for free, which people are stupid and they'll sign up for everything else, this is to seem less intimidating or kiss up to those PC gamers a little more, which is the point of getting rid of the PlayStation Network service is a bit of a Jedi Mind Trick on PC gamers like: Hey, PC is still free, it disconnects that paid service for the PC while console gamers have gotten used to it for consoles, but PC gamers eliminated the idea of free games through a PC PlayStation storefront, like consoles get and Epic Games, even, to pay Steam for games so, PC gamers could have had it, but now PlayStation is working to convey "Hey, its our service but free on PC" rather than being associated with a paid service, which doesnt exist on PC, Xbox ravaged the gaming landscape on consoles for charging online both PlayStation and Nintendo have since followed but PC has always remained free.
No, PlayStation on PC isnt going anywhere because 1) Herman Hulst is a tool and is still running things as Japan tells him to do. and 2) Japan aren't as aggressive or innovative in the world of business as they once were. They want to be American. They want to see American style success in Japan to be taken seriously so they'll follow and stumbling and struggling business (Xbox) today to feel relevant in the business world because rather than actually listening to people, they trust spreadsheets and graphs (the numbers) more, even though those can be doctored and influenced, or cheated (because not everyone does surveys or questionares so youre basing your "facts" off a very small sample, or those with nothing better to do to answer some questions, while everyone else has a life.) Yeah, PlayStation PC isnt going anywhere. They're not really PlayStation anymore. They're going to follow Xbox or Microsoft because their innovative minds are gone, so they'll justify it by saying its a changing and evolving world where Sony was once dictating how the market ran.
To further show you what I know, Sony doesnt even make TVs anymore, they sold OVER their owning stock to TCL who will now build and sell Bravia TVs. Yeah, a budget brand overtook the king
Their fanbase has been telling them for years they dont want it. That PS is about story-driven content is what it was all built on but, they just dont want to listen. Thats a problem compared to time under Jack Tretton and Andrew House
This is the business model sports games should be. Free 2 Play and Games as a Service model. Rather than an annual release every year, should be updates made to MLB The Show, for example. No more yearly retitle to 27 or 28, the same for NHL and NFL. No more paying $70+ every year. ALL sports titles should adopt the Free 2 Play business model
It still doesnt make any sense why devs are releasing games for Xbox. There's no reason to own an Xbox and its a waste of resources. I don't understand
What are you polling for? Because you don't know the industry and are so zapped by Microsoft and Xbox screwing everyone up that you're asking people to determine how you're going to write your articles? If it's popular good review, if nobody cares it's a bad review?
It's amazing. You can't get an honest information. You have to write to your crowd in order to get views, which gets advertising (which floods webpages like AOL ads were heavily criticized for back in the day) because that's what it's all about anymore. It's money. It's the same reason PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox has already done it, are sabotaging the industry. Because it's not about actual research (like Tom Kalinski did with SEGA) and making the effort to actually grow your product over time as it's needed. No, today it's about keeping a board happy with whatever they say, not because they care but because they want money. Where does it come from? Crummy charts and graphs compiled by someone who isn't a gamer nor has any real interest, it's just their job to do it. So, based off the casual gamer base that doesn't know anything about the industry either other than a quick dopamine fix rules the industry. They're interested in a hobby voiced by hundreds of thousands of gamers that actually played games and knew what they were talking about that fought for the formation of a foundation everyone has today, but that foundation is mostly ripped up and rebuild into a rickety shack casual gamers assume is what the cool kids of yesterday played..... But we didn't.
So, write your articles based on popular demand. You're no different, nor blazing a trail that's new and innovative conquering new mountains and building a name in stone. Instead, you're just like everyone else, to make a paycheck and you're name will be forgotten for not submitting or creating anything new or innovative but the same old dribble. Just another day, another article, another person. I already don't remember the name of the writer that did this article, because they didn't care. They just wanted to be caught up with everyone else. Ya know, trendy
What are you talking about? PlayStation has done mobile off and on for a long time. The Sony Xperia is a prime example that looked like a PSP Go and had LittleBigPlanet as one of the games that first comes to mind.
If you're gonna report on something, do your research and make sure your facts are accurate. Your first paragraph is already misleading
Japan is such a small part of the market now, though. With the rest of Asia opening up to current gen gaming, including China and Korea, Japan can't afford to be so picky if they themselves want to stay relevant. So, this article really doesn't matter
@BAMozzy You got the idea. Xbox milked these cows dry, PlayStation audience is a new market to make more money off of. They overspent for Activision and Microsoft wasn't happy. I bet the acquisition didn't do what they thought it would and yeah, Microsoft wants the money back. $69 billion was way, way more but Xbox was stupid enough to pay it so, to pay Microsoft back, CEO said start selling our first party games, Phil. You don't have a choice, I'm the boss and I want that money back
Gears of War is the bigger franchise. PlayStation doesn't need Halo, it got the best IP Xbox ever had, that's when you know it's real, when Gears of War hits. Xbox actively went after it to acquire the IP as Epic Games Mark Rein was getting ready to port it to PS3
No physical copy, I'm out. Seems all Xbox titles will be that way going forward (that are ports) such as Halo and Gears of War so, nah. No physical copy, and I mean a legitimate physical copy, not Indiana Jones that only has 20GB on the disc that's a 120GB game. What a croc
This is the game PlayStation should've kept playing all along, and haven't. Nintendo consistently shows confidence is their platform and their brand and the Switch 2 sold the numbers it did. The PS4 did in its time as well as the PlayStation 2 before it. Under Jim Ryan and Herman Hulst, however, as well as the young Japanese spineless CEO they have now, look at Nintendo today. Nintendo is the only company competing that if the industry were to fall apart, they'd be screwed. They'd have nothing to fall back on except making toys and trading cards. Sony and Xbox have much bigger markets to return back to so, if gaming were in such horrible shape, don't you think Nintendo would be showing the most concern? And, well, are they? They sure aren't and it paying off for them. Xbox has concern because they've done well enough to sour and sabotage their brand. Live in a dillusional world, but Phil Spencer is just as guilty as the rest of the crew that put out Xbox One. After all, it was Phil Spencer that walked on stage to announce the launch of Xbox One. He helped in making all of those decisions. Nevertheless, the brand is where it is because of him.
PlayStation, however, isn't in that boat. Far from. PlayStation still has consumer trust, though their inability to keep their developers on task is starting to hurt them. Their first-party developer talent is a good distraction.
Part of the problem with PlayStation right now IS their brand confidence, or their executives leadership in managing funds. They've been too liberal rather than tightening up the screws and showing some responsible parenting. I don't think the well loved PlayStation crew was always so YES ABSOLUTELY! But knew how and when to say NO and enough is enough. And maybe that's how every empire eventually falls. PlayStation doesn't need to be going the route of Xbox. Xbox is going the way they're going because they lost consumer trust. Do you see Nintendos work on PC? Communicating consoles are dying? No. Nintendo says they're as strong as ever! And within three minutes of their direct were already pushing EXCLUSIVE TO SWITCH HARDWARE. Nintendo, who should be the most concerned about the industry ISN'T, so why is PlayStation? Xbox spent $69 billion they obviously couldn't cover and Microsoft is calling back what's owed.
Yeah. Jim Ryans inability to stand up for the industry was an omen when The Show went multiplatform. That was telling of something bad. Phil Spencer never stood up for the industry either telling MLB "That's not how we do business in this industry, sorry." No. Phil Spencer wanted something to move his hardware in desperation. He got a small taste from Insomniac with Fuse and Sunset Overdrive, but it was short lived. Which, where is that by-the-way? I think we've been lied too because it isn't going to cost much of anything to port it to PS5 seeing as how PlayStation hardware and Xbox hardware are so similar these days, it wouldn't take any more than a week.
Yeah, Nintendo isn't concerned. Why can't PlayStation retain its IPs on its own platform. There's no need to be anywhere else. Cost? Look at Space Marine 2. Isn't gaming supposed to be easier since Mark Cerny took over? The PS3 was supposed to have been the nightmare. PS4 and PS5 were supposed to be significantly easier, no? So, what's the hold up?
@Nakatomi_Uk Oh yeah..... I forgot about that. They're saying the MP won't even exist. Single-player and co-op which is just right. Assuming it's true. Imagine a platinum trophy for Gears of War. Achievement score isn't as fun.
But I'm presently stuck on Ratchet & Clank (2016) one friggin trophy away from a platinum, you guessed it, stuck in the Rilgar race that's sluggish and broken. They had one person get the best time and said that's the trophy. It's preposterous. I was one second away and they wouldn't have mercy. They also have large gaps that should have barriers but, that's not my fault, that's the designers fault they didn't put a barrier there. I can use a jolt and hop that gap. Stupid
Anyone can keep saying that until it comes to fruition.
And if it does, it's digital only. Xbox doesn't have the spine to release it on a physical disc, which seeing as how we got Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, only 2/3s of the game was actually on the disc and you had to download the final 1/3. That's stupid! The Last of Us Part II had two discs. Final Fantasy VII Remake had two discs. We've reached the point where that just happens, it's not a big deal. That was the running joke when Xbox was still using DVD and PS3 had Blu-ray.
Betcha it won't see a disc release, that's what I'm saying, and that's IF they even announce it which someone says every time
Death Stranding 2 isn't a first-party PlayStation game. Kojima Productions kind of was and Death Stranding was a PlayStation IP until it was announced for Xbox and then showed up on Xbox the very same day. Kojima isn't really a very smart businessmen. Xbox's hardware is dying just as he decides to support it.
Why do you want an Xbox when you get everything for the competing console, but you can't play everything on an Xbox? People are trying their damnedest to keep the Xbox relevant and pretend nothing is really happening but, some of us were there once and to this day, Sonic still doesn't feel right on a Nintendo console, but Xbots don't have an issue with that, but SEGA fans from that era know and ought to have an issue with that. I still do
@IMustardMitt Isn't that why everyone demanded backward compatibility? What Xbox made a huge fuss after for so long, where people were blinded by the Xbox 360 and PlayStation was nearly executed because they griped and complained about the price, then when Sony removed backwards compatible chips to bring the price down, they nearly crucified the PS3 and PlayStation over NOT having backward compatibility. What's the point of arguing for backward compatibility when you're just being remasters?
That's absurd! Why would you say something like that? Wasn't the purpose of the design of the PS4 after all of that complaining about the PS3 to make games easier to develop for? Now, you're saying they're too expensive and developers just keep photocopying games and we buy them over and while developers just sit there waiting until the cash rolls in to finally get to work, five years later?
So, now we can only expect 1 game per console generation from first-party developers. You got Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games, you'll have to wait until PS6 for their next game. Sounds like a Non-denominational Pastor asking you to fill his collection plate.
All feels like a con game. PS3, first-party devs developed a game every two years, and that was on the console that had the most innovation in its hardware Id seen in a long time. With "easier more streamlined hardware" made from off the shelf common generic parts, you get a game every five years.
Don't believe me? Go back and watch the launch of the PS3 and how the media responded to it where PlayStation nearly went the way of SEGA at their "mercy", then watch Mark Cernys presentation on PS4 and tell me we're not getting conned
@Dodoo What the heck is all this lingo? ATM? IMO? Didn't they teach you spelling in school? Is this how people get around being embarrassed they're illiterate? Lucky for you, Google helps with that with predictive text. SPELL YOU FRIGGIN GEN Z'S! ENGLISH!
I don't really believe anyone when they say "Innovation", especially Xbox or Microsoft that live on fantasy island in a dillusion that they're innovative in anything.
But, when they say we'll show you gameplay to demonstrate innovation, all I'm seeing is FromSoftware Demons Souls that spawned Dark Souls when they felt confident about the idea received by PlayStation fans that supported the idea but to get around the lab rat situation they had to make Dark Souls. There's just no loyalty anymore, different subject, but before FromSoftware, last I checked Team Ninja lay claim to that title of innovation as an evolution from their side scrolling and brutal gameplay of Ninja Gaiden became Ninja Gaiden on the original Xbox. So, how is a Gaiden-Souls-like game going to be innovative? Just seems like another Gaiden-Souls-like game.
...... Or did Devil May Cry 3's punishing gameplay beat them both? (In terms of 3D, obviously Ninja Gaiden existed on the NES long before, but NES had NES hard anyway attributed to Mega Man, Ghosts N Goblins, and Castlevania that chewd you up and spit you out. Where does it all really begin, I honestly doubt it's starting with Phantom Blade 0
@RubyCarbuncle - But, don't you think if they really wanted to they would've by now? You really think putting them on PlayStation is going to make a difference? You might see an uptic in sales, like people did when Sonic first appeared on Nintendo, yeah, people did it just to give the finger to Sega fans, or to say it finally happened and they have archeological proof of it now, but if you haven't played it by now, you're likely going to never. I held off my whole life until last summer, I popped the disc in to see what all the fuss was about, a middle-aged man and I wasn't the least bit impressed. The controls were horrific, whoever designed the warthog needs the waterboard and that's the final boss, are you serious? HOLY CRAP! I've never battled such horrendous controls under so much distress and anxiety through the roof! There were cheap deaths all over the place, I was yelling in a pillow and nearly broke my first controller playing Halo, it was that bad. I'd be well off if I did a let's play if Halo, it would've been entertainment value you couldn't find anywhere else. Maybe I could do it with Halo 2 if my PTSD would ever go away from Combat Evolved to even want to try. It's so bad! I don't understand the hype, people didn't know how to play real shooters.
I don't see it's fan pool expanding much, if at all this way. If you wanted to play Halo, you did it by now. This is the Sonic on Nintendo, I still can't get over to this day, it's the middle-finger to Xbots, plain and simple. This is Microsoft now telling their fans to ditch the Pampers and grow up
Alright, I think we're letting this get out of hand. Why is Xbox going to release hardware and then release their games that are their bread and butter to other consoles, to move no hardware? Why do Xbox loyals even want Xbox hardware when their selection is so limited, now, and everyone else gets to play it all? Xbots are left out in the cold while everyone's sucking up all the fun? Xbox has to have something to hold to it's chest to keep them knocking and Gears of War is it. It's the game they went far out of their way to keep out of Sonys hands when Mark Rein was getting ready to start working on PS3 development because Epic had made all the money they were going to make, Microsoft wouldnt have it. I'm convinced Xbox values Gears of War more than Halo and you'd see Halo make the Spartan Jump to Sony before Marcus Fenix would curb stomp his way there, he'd rather be held in a San Jacinto prison on Sara for another some odd years.
This has got to stop until someone official actually says something. My Google feed is blowing up with ad bloat like an AOL Online disc, its gotta stop and people need to report on fact, on real news. This is all absurd
I don't want a streaming device. Heck, I don't even want digital. My wifi went out on me and my PS consoles were unusable. But if it's between digital and streaming, I'll take digital only over streaming any day. Today's internet still isnt ready for streaming. The tech. Is still behind
And Xbox wants to jump into the handheld business and think they can survive? Seems like that market is more cutthroat and there's more competition will all the PC makers making their own handheld and Nintendo with the Switch 2? Xbox is just now releasing and updated controller. It's how Xbox has always been, behind the curve always trying to catch up rather than innovating their own tech and going their own way bringing gaming into a unique direction, they can't do it, they don't have the minds and they're always going to be dead last.
I honestly don't know how the gaming community respects them, obviously there's a sizable smart consumer class out there that doesn't and doesn't trust them but, Xbox still thinks they know gamers, that they can exist. Gamers buy their hardware that are collectors, but they'll go right back to Nintendo or Sony for their games. Xbox just isn't innovative. Microsoft hasn't been and never will be. Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer ran their business always just doing what the other guy did not making their own. They've never had the minds to think or do or be that way. Xbox's handheld? Will be just like the Asus Rog but run an Xbox OS. Maybe they'll mimic the PS Portal with their own haptic feedback Xbox controller with the screen in the middle too, I can imagine Xbox doing anything innovative to change the market.
Only if it follows the path of the PS Vita, minus the proprietary storage problem and AT&T exclusive deal. Those both hurt the Vita. Also, if Sony is to do it, they need to commit to it long term, not just to see how it does and then back out like the Vita. Their strongest development teams didn't even make anything for the Vita, that's a problem. It also needs to run alongside the PS5 and PS6. Finally, it isn't a clone of the Switch, Sony needs to go their own way and do it their own way with their own innovations. Why do we want the same handheld as Nintendo twice, especially one first-party will ignore like the Vita.
Sony owned the handheld market with the Vita, so much so Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS because they were legitimately concerned. Sony also needs to focus on immersion. One thing they can do, in regards to audio, is using their 3D audio style with the PS5, but they need to be in talks with DTS to do a DTS:X audio collaboration similar to what Razor did with haptic headphones. Very few games actually used it but those who actually have the headphones and have used it, it's hard to play games without it. Not only are their haptics in the unit itself, but in the headphones. As the helicopter circles around you, you feel it move throughout the headset, with actual haptics, as it hits the ground, you feel it in the haptics on the unit itself. Again, immersion. Razor did it at one time but, the experience came and went. Those lucky enough to have the headset, I don't know if you can even find them anymore but, again, those whove been able to try it, a shame more games didn't use it, it's cool. Sony needs to do that with the Vita 2. Again, immersion
What morons!!!! We've said we don't want them. It's gotta be the industry trying to tell us it's what we want. Cheaper to make with a higher return on investment through stupid people that pay for microtransactions on mobile, Sony wants more money through cheaper games, but gamers don't want them.
If Xbox wants to take hold of a rock and start climbing to advance on Sony, this is where they pull a PS4. "We're listening to you and on your side. You don't want Live Service Games? Done! You want cinematic experiences? Let us lead the way." Does it threaten Xbox Live? Yeah, it does but what's going to get them back on the map? What can put them ahead of Sony to regain ground they lost to PlayStation? Start pulling the curtain on the industry to show the industry has been trying to play consumers, like the Masked Magician revealing the tricks.
Hulst is a complete idiot. I don't know how he ran Guerilla Games so well and then turned into such a schmuck. But, this is Microsoft's chance to capitalize. Show Sonys playbook (what the industry wants us to do) and delay the inevitable long enough to win over consumers but, it's gonna cost them but, what makes more money, just giving them what they want, or fighting against the grain, swimming upstream, or running against the win making a nickel here to a dime there.
This is pathetic. The people have spoken, but Sony wants to be stubborn to tell us what we want, their studios still just sitting there wasting time and money, that's what's costing them money. Rather than devs working, their just sandbagging the job

Re: 'They Said I'm Crazy': Kojima's New Single Player Horror Like Nothing Seen Before
@neillaw They're both long gone. They're both dead. Once he finished Metal Gear Solid 4, that last switch flipped and he was gone
Re: 'They Said I'm Crazy': Kojima's New Single Player Horror Like Nothing Seen Before
Oh no, Xbox will try and see what they can do with Xbox exclusivity.
Re: 'There's a Finished Version of Gears of War PS5 Sitting on a Drive': New Game E-Day Was Almost Done
@wildcat_kickz Not when you look at the numbers. Xboxs camp left under Spencer, all those fans waited and when it arrived, they bought. Thats a lot of Xbox fans that bought up their experience but on a PlayStation.
Re: 'There's a Finished Version of Gears of War PS5 Sitting on a Drive': New Game E-Day Was Almost Done

Re: Ex-Forza Horizon Devs Poised to Reveal New PS5 Racer Prior to Sony's State of Play

@belmont Peace Walker was PSP, dude. Maybe Im misunderstanding you
Re: Let Out of PS3 Jail, Here's an Hour of Metal Gear Solid 4's New PS5 Version
This is a joke
Re: New Gears of War Could Go Head-to-Head with Sony's Wolverine, But Will It Be on PS5?

Re: SEGA Cancels Super Game Project and Moves Away from Live Service

Re: Xbox Is Flip-Flopping on PS5 Again, and It's Truly Getting Tiring
Just wait it out
Re: Xbox Game Pass vs PS Plus: Was Sony Right All Along?
But lets not forget either Xbox releases physical media, but a minimal about of data (200MB for Indiana Jones for example) is on a 50GB disc so you actually have to search the Internet these days when it comes go buying an Xbox game "off the shelf" to see if the game is actually on the disc, which these days, its not
Re: PS5 Fans Want Trophy Upgrades After Xbox Improves Achievements
Re: Fans Reckon PS Studios Website Adjustments Hint at Sony's Move Away from PC
Re: Out Today: Marathon's PS5 Launch Puts Sony's $3B Live Service Gamble to the Test

Re: It's Not Looking Good for Fighting Game 2XKO, Just Weeks After PS5 Debut
This is the business model sports games should be. Free 2 Play and Games as a Service model. Rather than an annual release every year, should be updates made to MLB The Show, for example. No more yearly retitle to 27 or 28, the same for NHL and NFL. No more paying $70+ every year. ALL sports titles should adopt the Free 2 Play business model

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on Ghost of Yotei?
@RiverGenie - That's pathetic
Re: Poll: Are You Sold on Ghost of Yotei?
Re: Sony Seemingly Readying Mobile Version of MLB The Show

Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Struggles for Sales in Japan, Despite JRPG Inspirations

Re: Halo the Final PS5 Holdout of Xbox's Historic Big Three
@BAMozzy You got the idea. You don't have a choice, I'm the boss and I want that money back
Re: Halo the Final PS5 Holdout of Xbox's Historic Big Three
Gears of War is the bigger franchise. PlayStation doesn't need Halo, it got the best IP Xbox ever had, that's when you know it's real, when Gears of War hits. Xbox actively went after it to acquire the IP as Epic Games Mark Rein was getting ready to port it to PS3
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Forza Horizon 5 on PS5?
No physical copy, I'm out. Seems all Xbox titles will be that way going forward (that are ports) such as Halo and Gears of War so, nah. No physical copy, and I mean a legitimate physical copy, not Indiana Jones that only has 20GB on the disc that's a 120GB game. What a croc

Re: Switch 2 Exclusivity Concerns Surround Ys X: Proud Nordics as Plans for PS5 Are Undecided
Re: Rumour: Gears of War Could Finally Be Revealed for PS5 at the Xbox Showcase
Stupid
Re: Rumour: Gears of War Could Finally Be Revealed for PS5 at the Xbox Showcase
Anyone can keep saying that until it comes to fruition.
And if it does, it's digital only. Xbox doesn't have the spine to release it on a physical disc, which seeing as how we got Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, only 2/3s of the game was actually on the disc and you had to download the final 1/3. That's stupid! The Last of Us Part II had two discs. Final Fantasy VII Remake had two discs. We've reached the point where that just happens, it's not a big deal. That was the running joke when Xbox was still using DVD and PS3 had Blu-ray.
Betcha it won't see a disc release, that's what I'm saying, and that's IF they even announce it which someone says every time
Re: Sony Reiterates Major PS5 First-Party Games Will Launch in 2025, Anticipates High Performance
I still do
Re: Shuhei Yoshida: If You Want New First-Party PS5 Games, You Should Support Remasters
Re: Shuhei Yoshida: If You Want New First-Party PS5 Games, You Should Support Remasters

Re: PS5's Super Promising Phantom Blade Zero Confirms New Gameplay Deep Dive

This is Microsoft now telling their fans to ditch the Pampers and grow up
Re: Rumour: Halo: The Master Chief Collection Coming to PS5 This Year
Alright, I think we're letting this get out of hand.
Re: Expect PS Portal's Glacial Rollout of New Features to Continue
I don't want a streaming device. Heck, I don't even want digital. My wifi went out on me and my PS consoles were unusable. But if it's between digital and streaming, I'll take digital only over streaming any day. Today's internet still isnt ready for streaming. The tech. Is still behind
Re: PS Portal Owners Spend More Time Playing PS5, Says Sony
Re: PS5 Fans Willing to Pay a Pretty Penny for a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation
@MikeOrator - Yup. Important factor. Physical media. Digital only? Forget it
Re: PS5 Fans Willing to Pay a Pretty Penny for a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation

Re: After a Tough Few Months, Sony Says It'll Keep Making PS5 Live Service Games
