I was perfectly okay to pay $500 for a PS5 with disc drive. $300 more for a Pro version is just too much of a bump. If Sony had come out at $100-$150 more for the Pro, I don't think we'd see this much backlash. This is only for the hardcore of hardcore. Casual fans and average consumers are not going to buy this.
Good grief. Can't we give Astro Bot some more time? The game just came out last week. And you state yourself in the article this is for "physical UK sales for Astro Bot." So no digital sales numbers, and just one region, in less than 7 days.
Yikes. The PS4 Pro was $399 when it came out, the same price as the regular PS4 when it was first released. The PS5 digital was $399 so it's $300 more for a Pro?
There are only a few franchises I can think of that buck the trends. God of War and Ratchet from the PS2 era, Gran Turismo from PS1 era. Maybe there are some others as well. I do wish Sony would make more games using older IPs, and give them to a different studio. They don't need to be made by the original developers if they are busy. Does a new Sly or Jak game really need to be AAA?
Good grief they have plenty of IPs to draw from, some to bring back while they also work on creating new IPs. There are so many that probably would be welcome back by gamers and loved by fans that maybe never played them before.
Nothing like muddy waters. Now we wait for more info and get worked up in the meantime. Hopefully we'll have clarity sooner than later. I'm super hyped for this game but would prefer it on PS5 right now.
In an alternate reality PS5 gamers forget the game is on their console and don't buy it, hurting the title's sales overall. Warehouses full of PS5 versions collecting dust. Head scratching for sure. They think we're morons?
Wait. You can't export/import your Draft Classes into Madden? Maybe they'll release an update for this when Madden is released. That seems like a big oversight otherwise.
Hope their rights / demands are met. Human beings are more than capable of doing voice work, etc. and there are plenty of us. We don't need AI to do it for us, to replace us. We need AI to help us do what we are already doing.
"93% of its overall sales come from digital games"
Does that account for games with only digital purchase options? Those titles should not be included when we talk about comparing physical to digital sales numbers. Kunitsu-Gami is not the only digital exclusive title from Capcom.
@IntrepidWombat I remember the Easter Egg too. Summoner was one of the games I bought when I got my launch day PS2 at Best Buy. I remember getting stuck pretty deep in the game and had to give up. I don't think it was a bug, just my bad gaming. Will check this version out.
There are people that still buy new games at full price, either physical or digital, but I don't know how any of these game companies can charge $15-$20 month considering the development costs. How many and for how long do subscribers need to pay to make up their investments? How are companies NOT swan diving into their money vaults to make up for the costs?
While not the absolute worst, this is sad to hear. Does the average consumer care about PS2 games? There must be some demand from gamers like us, otherwise why would Sony even try at all.
Sweet. I wonder if we'll get Sky remastered someday. Also, NIS America, please print more copies of your physical games for those of us that miss out after like 8 months.
We're talking about something so far in the future. A lot can change. What will be the state of gaming, consoles and the world then? Maybe there will be a medium entirely different form what we have now. Although we still don't have flying cars or robot maids yet, so IDK.
It'd be great if they could all just start new studio but I'm sure that's easier said than done. The fact they can't keep their IPs like others have mentioned totally blows for them and us fans. Who knows what happens to them with Microsoft now.

And water is wet. Sadly this is how things will continue to be. Anything that is limited or even perceived as such is bought by "resellers."

Re: GTA 6 Not Affected by Current Union Strike Over AI Issues
Okay then. Why is GTA6 "exempt"? Doesn't make sense to me why one game wouldn't be affected. At least w/o more info than is provided here.

If true this is great news. I would also love see the first Blood Omen remastered.
