Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Last of Us: Part I?

@stvevan people have been crying over that price increase for going on two years now regardless if it's new or a remake. I haven't bought a new Sony game this gen because I'm not paying the $129 rrp, I wish it was just a $10 increase here.

Personally, if your gonna factor in price to reviews, then a Buy it at Full Price, Wait for a Sale, or Never Buy recommendations should be used across the board on all games.

As for TLoU, it's definitely a 10 to me but I won't be buying it until a steep discount, like I've done for most PS games.

@stvevan huh

https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps5/demons_souls
"Changes have been made to the visuals, vocal performances, cutscenes, animations, and user interface – but this is still very much the same Demon’s Souls. You’ll create a character, pick a class, play through a series of stages, and die a bunch. Enemies behave exactly as they used to, useful items still sit in precisely the same locations, and the game’s slightly convoluted Tendency systems remain untouched. There’s no radical reinvention here, and this game is all the better for it.

The lack of systemic changes serves to make this an excellent experience for both newcomers and veterans; fresh eyes will be able to appreciate and witness the raw vision of the original Demon’s Souls brought into the modern age, while veterans will pick up on the tiniest of consistencies that show how committed Bluepoint must’ve been to ensuring that FromSoftware’s original creative vision went unaltered. The attention to detail is staggering."

@Juanalf why is that though? I don't see how that should matter at all. Did the new Demon's Souls review factor in price? That got a 10/10.

As for Ragnarok, that's obviously a last gen game given a new coat of paint and sold at PS5 prices. Surely that should factor in the review score.

@RedRiot193 yes I did put content in quotes because I'm sick of how some use it as a basis for arguing if a game is worth it or not. For me it's become a negative buzzword, mostly due to all the "it's all about content" "gotta keep putting content out" mantra that folks use.

But we've known Factions 2 is its own thing for sometime now so I couldn't care less about there being no multiplayer included. And I honestly don't care about the whole price argument either which is why I never said anything about it in my first post. You either think a game is worth the rrp or you don't.

Re: Until Dawn, The Quarry Dev Acquired by Nordisk Games

Sounds like this is a good outcome for Supermassive. I highly enjoy what they do and looking forward to The Devil in Me.

I hought they had an 8 game deal with Bamco, the 2 seasons of Dark Pictures Anthology games, but I could be mistaken.

This sounds like a great night in, but those seven friends need to own the game as well. It would be better to have a one-time up-to-7 friend pass. How many friends will own this, then want to join in and just vote when they've already played it (multiple times)? Having a one time friend pass might even boost sales if they enjoy it enough.

This is great news!
I very much enjoyed Death Mark and just bought NG on sale. The Japanese certainly do make some incredible horror experiences.

Somewhat related, I'm currently playing through a slick indie psychological horror VN called Corpse Factory. It's very Japanese but was made here in Australia by way of Melbourne. Only on Switch and PC so far. Recommended.
