Re: PS4 Developers Required to Support Vita Remote Play

ViciousDS

@get2sammyb if its just built into the development kit then its literally as easy as remapping controls and turning on the switch. I mean even the minor remote play PS3 had for PSone games worked wonders when I was not able to get legend of dragoon on my vita till that update came along.

Re: PS4 Developers Required to Support Vita Remote Play

ViciousDS

you guys misread something.

"claims that any PS4 titles not taking advantage of the new PlayStation Eye will be required to include Remote Play support."'

Meaning they will throw in a Playstation Eye Gimmick and call it a day, sorry but its going to happen, I still don't expect a ton of remote games....all sony first party games i know for a fact will use it, but EA...........psh HAHAHAHAHA good one.

Re: Talking Point: The Increasingly Complex Issue of Used Games on PS4

ViciousDS

@fchinaski I think if all they do is come out and say that its up to the publishers than it shoots everything off their back. I mean honestly I preferred the online code over the DRM crap. I honestly didn't mind getting a used game uber cheap and dropping $10 but now this.....full price, FFS. Sony needs to just let the publisher do what they want with it and then not even have it on their first party games. Guess who looks like the bad guys now eh.

Re: Talking Point: The Increasingly Complex Issue of Used Games on PS4

ViciousDS

@ShogunRok game rental in the US is huge Gamefly has almost 7 shipping centers now across the states, and I actually have a 3 game plan so I can let my little brother have a game as well. I always lend my games to my little brother and if he likes them and finds a lot of value out of them, I often buy the game so he can have a permanent copy. But I am not spending $60 for a 6 hour long shooter that hes never going to play again.

Re: Gamers Bombard PlayStation Executives with Used Game Pleas for PS4

ViciousDS

companies are idiotic if they think DRM will help there sales.........it won't in fact they will lose even MORE money. People won't want to buy a game because they won't be able to try it from a friend, customers will restrict to purchases to products they know are going to deliver, so all those games that you may have loved that have cult followings.....say goodbye no one would take a risk to buy a game they are going to get screwed over on.

Sales are going to go down as a whole forget the whole used part alone, new game sales would drop because consumers won't risk buying a product they possibly could end up being stuck with.

Re: Talking Point: Sony's Aggressive Approach to PS4 Is Working Wonders

ViciousDS

The indie part is just dragging more Dev's over PERIOD. Even regular dev's are taking notice to how Sony is treating the companies and see that its going to be an amazing market there because Sony has no fee now for Indie Games, Microsoft just eliminated the Indie/Arcade Section on their new console meaning if a title doesn't sell immediately compared to huge blockbusters its going to be near the bottom of the pile when searching through games. If Sony keeps up everything all year its just destroyed any possible hope of Microsoft looking like a contender and the Wii-U sales will probably pick-up as well lol.

Only issue remains is DRM................what is their policy and structure on used games going to be, this is the MOST IMPORTANT DECISION. DRM is going to make or break Sony overall though.

Re: PlayStation 4 Has a Significant Power Advantage Over Xbox One

ViciousDS

@jer18 you realize that no computer as of this moment is using GDDR5 as a standard in RAM right? please go out find a motherboard, and ram for GDDR5..........because guess what you can't. It's WAY faster than DDR3 which is what every computer now a days has. They basically took Video Ram thats insanely fast and made it unified across the entire system. This means the OS, games, music, video.......EVERYTHING is using it. in a normal computer the OS, and programs access standard DDR2 or more likely now a days DDR3. As of right now the PS4 has the fastest setup of a computer. Not raw power wise but speed........psh there is no match atm.

Re: PlayStation 4 Has a Significant Power Advantage Over Xbox One

ViciousDS

seriously only 1.2 TFlops of compute power? My old desktop that I built 4 years ago had that power and that means my current desktop is roughly 4-5x more powerful than the Xbox One and roughly 1.5-2x to the PS4.

Seriously hope Microsoft knows what they are doing with this so called cloud computing, with the ability to use the servers to process information in the cloud.

I can see that however not working well though. Can you imagine games requiring a certain speed of internet just so you could play a game due to cloud computing lol.......sure it works microsoft but um not everyone has a decent internet speed like me of 55D/12U.

Sony is truly showing that this is the REAL successor in terms of whats going to be available, power, and accessibility.

Re: Feature: Three Lessons PS4 Can Learn from Xbox One's Unveiling

ViciousDS

That's the issue I see, if EA dropped online pass.............there is no way PS4 is not going to have some sort of block on used games, or Sony will leave it up to the developers to add encryption to the discs and a one-time activation. If Sony leaves it to the publishers to decide if it can be sold at a place like gamestop.....guess who looks like the bad guy, not Sony thats for sure. Somehow I have a feeling GameStop is actually part of this HUGE ecosystem and there used/new game sales are about to hit a new level with digital buying. Trade in a Game you bought for $25 GameStop digital credit......GameStop then gets your code that you used and it becomes a token of some sort. GameStop then can have a physical supply of Tokens for distribution to that game. 5%-10% of the sale goes towards the game devs.

See what I mean. I think that GameStop is going to somehow have a new/used trading market app on the new consoles and we can (for a fee) trade in a game we already bought to get credit and spend on other games.

There is NO WAY EA is letting Sony have their games on the PS4 without some sort of DRM to nail everyone with.

Re: Sony Unleashes Freedom Wars on PlayStation Vita in 2014

ViciousDS

if its a mmorpg thats fine.......I'm still waiting for phantasy star online 2 for the Vita. I seriously hope we get some damn good games. Ragnarok Odyssey and Soul Sacrifice are truly amazing games and show the systems potential in what it can bring to the table in terms of quality games.

Re: Gran Turismo 6 Pulls onto PlayStation 3 This Holiday

ViciousDS

Well me and my little brother (12 years old) will have PS4's by the end of the year, who knows maybe parents not wanting to get their kid the new console yet will make finding one easy as hell for me. I know for a fact that the whole cross party chat will be worth the purchase alone as I would love to just chill in a lobby and play my own single player game while chatting with my buddies......it was the reason the Vita is my most used portable device is because of the mobility and it offers cross chat support. I actually at times used the Vita just for the voice party feature and played my ps3 games lol.

Re: Feature: What to Expect from Sony's Gran Turismo Event

ViciousDS

Vita......come on, more exclusives the better!!!!! Everyone knows there will never be a racing game that would look as good, have as many cars and the customization that a GT on the Vita could deliver. Gran Turismo is the top selling PS3 game of all time with almost 10 million copies shipped. Can you imagine how many Vita's it could possibly move?

Re: Watch Dogs Will Boast More Than 80 Hours of Open World Bliss

ViciousDS

sorry GTA but um this is way cooler and boasts more interactivity. Don't get me wrong you are a good game and all but, your still the same old thing. Last I checked I wasn't the most elitist hacker in the world with the ability to go and take anything I want using digital means. Watch Dogs is going to be sick and GTA V is a black friday grab or when it majorly drops to a greatest hits like IV.

Re: DriveClub Will Occupy a Different Space on PS4 to Gran Turismo

ViciousDS

im actually really excited, and my buddies haven't been more excited about a racing game focused around the club experience. We are not good at racing games, or by all any means good, it's just fun to label yourself a group and race together. I mean the most we get is test drive unlimited 2 and lets face it, its always been a gimmick in those games at best. I also am not a HUGE sim racing fan, I love the customization and options of GT however I am never a fan of the sim style feel to the racing physics.

I am buying this Day 1 when it comes out with the PS4.

Re: Talking Point: Are Cross-Generation Releases Affecting Your Enthusiasm for the PS4?

ViciousDS

@rastamadeus the Wii-u's specs are barely above current gen, of course Dev's were not going to do much 3rd party wise. Nintendo's new console has a processor lower than current gen hardware, and a GFX card minorly above the PS3/360 standards. 3rd party Dev's are already supporting the PS4 and are preparing to make it the liveliest version of the two consoles. Ubisoft's Watch Dogs has already been confirmed it is going to use the PS4 fully to maximize the hardware, meaning its going to look much better and probably be in full 1080p. You forget also this gen's hardware is all pretty much natively in 720p. That resolution increase is a MAJOR change alone.

Re: DriveClub Will Be Getting Plenty of Post Release DLC

ViciousDS

@Ginkgo its not the sim part that bothers me, its closed course racing. If they could make a Gran Turismo with the open world freedom of say Test Drive Unlimited and the social experience of other players just popping in and out of free roam then I would be ECSTATIC!!! Seriously the Sim and Customization of Gran Turismo with the adventure of TDU.....omg take my money lol.

Re: Talking Point: Are Cross-Generation Releases Affecting Your Enthusiasm for the PS4?

ViciousDS

still excited for PS4 completely, I'm leaving the PS3 behind unless something major comes out like the last of us or beyond:two souls. Because Watch Dogs is going to look amazing with all the particle effects and more dense atmosphere. I mean all the gameplay videos have been PC and PS4, I can imagine the difference running on the old hardware just due to the RAM limitations alone. But the PS4 is so much easier to develop for compared to the PS3, I mean Unreal Engine 4 was transferred over in mere weeks instead of months of re-coding. It's going to come down to the fact its actually going to take more effort to make it compatible with the PS3 compared to PS4.....which in turn also costs more development costs.

Re: Quantic Dream Probably Won't Restrict Use of the PS4 Controller's Share Button

ViciousDS

to be honest, I wonder how the live streaming portion would work since wouldn't it be a share feature as well? I could imagine watching a live stream and the screen just goes black for 15 minutes comes back and the credits are rolling because the dev didnt want you to see the last 15 minutes HAHAHAHA......omg it would totally make all the features of the live stream or share feature pointless.

Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts Targets PS3 on 5th November, PS4 Version Employs New Engine

ViciousDS

I like CoD to be honest despite its same gameplay over and over. If I got sick of crap like shooters I would have stopped playing every need for speed so long ago. I just want something new and I'll be watching the ghost reveal just to see what they do this time around. Black Ops 2 to me was very refreshing just like the original black ops, however i couldn't stand WaW, MW2 or MW3. But new characters, new world, and story. However this new world thing is what I'm interested in, I would love some Civil War in modern day and run underground metro areas.....

Re: Rumour: Gran Turismo 6 Accelerates onto Another Retailer Website

ViciousDS

@3Above talk about killing DriveClub and that push. I am pretty sure it's just going to stay PS3, and its going to be Sony's answer to say hey we still care about the PS3 and will support it for a little even with the PS4 launch. Although we still wish you guys to move to the new technological beast known as PS4.

Re: Rumour: Gran Turismo 6 Starting Its Engine in Just a Few Weeks

ViciousDS

There's people like me though that don't get over excited for racing sims. I like Forza because its actually a little more of a arcade sim mix in the racing style. But I am way more excited for DriveClub than Gran Turismo 6. So personally i can see people being 50/50 on the situation. I will be getting a PS4 and driveclub but not GT6 for PS3.
