Re: Scalped PS5 Prices Plummet as Retail Stock Surges

Valgore

I don't condone any of thier practices but I feel that they had a kind of weird effect when it comes to the ps5.
Scalpers made getting a ps5 really difficult but with them buying most of the ps5s and it hitting the media it gave the ps5 this kind of holy grail status as something that was really hard to obtain without spending stupid amounts to get one so thus increased the interest in the ps5. People who weren't even thinking of getting a ps5 started to wonder what all the fuss was about and wanted the item that most people couldn't get or afford, I believe this has transitioned into better sales for the ps5 as more people started to be able to get hold of one.
Just my thoughts though.

Re: Jack Black Calls for Red Dead Redemption Movie, Story 'Even Better Than The Last of Us'

Valgore

@PegasusActual93 Very true although I don't know about the person you're replying to but I find that most people who use that term are the first to also be angry when a movie or series comes our depicting how bad it was, I mean look at Will Smiths Emancipation. Alot of love but alot of "Not another black slave movie" like we should acknowledge it but not actually talk or see something about it. Boggles my mind.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Really Is Targeting 2024 Release Date

Valgore

I just don't see the need as others have pointed out. This is the first year since the ps5 where games are launching exclusively to the ps5 and not ps4 which we knew would happen but it's taken it time to leave the old gen behind. Obviously I don't want people left behind because these new gen consoles cost a bomb but I thought we would have got to the point of making games solely for ps5 alot sooner, I believe chip shortages /covid played a big role in the delay.

I feel that if they do decide to release a pro version then they need to have an amazing upgrade path like trading in your standard ps5 and you only need to pay £50-£100 to get the pro then that might work although it's still a big chunk of change it might be enough for people to go for the pro.

If they don't do that then I truly don't see a pro version selling well at all.

Re: UK Regulator No Longer Concerned About Activision Buyout's Impact on Console Competition

Valgore

Thank god this all might be finally be over even if I'm not a fan of huge take overs. What this whole sorry saga has shown me though is...

1) how petty and slimy big corps can be.

2) How after all this time that console wars are still a big thing which actually makes gamers look really bad!

It's honestly been embarrassing to read what has been said by some on this site and sister sites by certain individuals and when gaming can be such a beautiful thing that can bring people together, it can also be a thing that causes anger and resentment.

Such a shame to see. I also include myself in my disappointment of being swept up in the madness.

Re: Horizon Maker Guerrilla Praises Profound Impact of Lance Reddick

I have to admit this one hit me hard. I've been playing HFW and I just heard his voice through the focus and then I saw the ign post and I just choked up. Just made me sad but very grateful for his work and the roles he brang to life on the screen and in games. I'll platinum HFW and give him a nod of satisfaction when I do, Silly I know but I'll do it anyway.

Re: The Response to Rocksteady's Suicide Squad Has Been Abysmal

Valgore

I'm a huge Arkham fan and this game has hit all the wrong notes for me. To me this is Gotham knights, avengers and Anthem all rolled into one and not a good one at that. Like someone said already, RockSteady gave us The Arkham trilogy and it was great, it was gritty, dark & violent with epic exploration and awesome Easter egss and the villains were fantastic with stealth and combat being so good to play and this Is what I was really hoping would be coming with this game but nope, we get what seems to be a loud in your face, colour popping, purple mass shooting 3rd person shooter with DC skins, This is so far from what RockSteady has been known for that I think thier followers will leave in droves. I'll try this game but my hype has gone ice cold and not in a great Dr freeze way.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy (PS5) - A Harry Potter Dream Come True

Valgore

@SleepyNick As I said though I stand by Push for making thier stance clear and I stand by them for putting it out in this review due to the issue being so closely intwined, You can have a different opinion and that's fine but This is the push site so I respect thier right to type what they believe and if I had an issue with that then I would contact them directly.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy (PS5) - A Harry Potter Dream Come True

Valgore

Pushes statement about JK isn't a discussion, it's how they feel, that's the end of it, it's not up for debate so others getting angry over this need to chill, take a step back and realise that your view is different and that's it. If you actually want to debate the issue at hand then maybe go a find some where to have that conversation but this isn't the place. Take care all 👍🏻

Re: Forspoken (PS5) - Messy Action RPG Is Massively Hit and Miss

Valgore

Well I got my rental copy yesterday and this game is so slow at the start, the constant cut scenes that take away controls from you is too much, the dialog is so cringy and just bad. When I play this I feel like it's a mess of different games stuck to each other, you can see that this had huge potential but it needed more time to bring it all together. The exploration is cool to an extent, it can feel jarred from time to time and the combat is good but once again can feel really jarring here and there. The rpg elements feel like an old Elder scrolls game which isn't a bad thing but felt out of place in a away. Unfortunately this is a game that I've put down and luckily I didn't drop money on it so that's good.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Forspoken?

Valgore

I'm due to get my rental copy today so I at least get to give it ago. Games that I have an interest in, I make sure to not look at gameplay etc, I make my own conclusions and if it hits, it hits. If not then oh well I'll just send it back.

Re: Random: Infamous PS3 Hacker Quits Twitter After One Month

Valgore

I don't blame him thinking there's nothing he can do.... You can't possibly do anything when you have an ego maniac as the boss who does silly little polls and releases what he calls the "twitter files" that amounted to nothing more than a bad fart in an enclosed space. The guy has wrecked twitter but what I find really really odd is that people jump to his defense like he's a messiah (kinda like trump) when the dude has done nothing but throw money to get to where he's at. I just sit back and laugh now because Twitter is more like Parlour 2.0 haha.

Re: Despite Scrapping PS4, Gotham Knights Is Just 30fps on PS5

Valgore

I don't understand this decision but I'll see what it plays like at release. The more I see of this game I find myself saying "Please remake Arkham Knight with full 4k HDR with VRR. I love the Arkham games, hell I'd be happy if the did another remake of the whole series including Origins. I really hope Gotham Knights is good but I'm worried they won't be able to step out from the huge Batman shaped shadow.

Re: Native PS5 Version of Sci-Fi RPG The Outer Worlds Rated for Release

Valgore

@stvevan Not at all. When the game first came out, Yes everyone should play it because we didn't know there would be a No2 and that Microsoft were going to make future instalments exclusive but now we do know for sure that no2 won't be on PS, so new players that might buy the ps5 version should know this and make an informed decision.

Re: Talking Point: We Need to Discuss This Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster

Valgore

There needs to be a No option because I'm not interested in this but I don't think it's a waste of resources at all. This remaster could bring new players to the game which is always good because HZD is an amazing game, the only reason I'm not interested is because I sunk many many hours into the original and I got the platinum so I don't feel the need to play again.

Re: Hands On: Valkyrie Elysium May Well Be a Pleasant Surprise

Valgore

I've just played the demo of this and I have to say that this game feels lost..... The combat is fast but it's clunky, you can't stop and attack mid way and you can't keep and enemy mid air for your full aerial combat. The world is staged like DMC which is fair enough but wow its empty, the demo made it seem like this might be on purpose and if so then wow towns are just going to blur into one another. The movement is fine although the running is a complete rip from Naruto (I actually don't know what one came first or if there's a anime of Valkarie) I liked the status effects and being able to stun an enemy but I realised very quickly that actually you don't need to use it at all, you'll defeat what ever is in your way without the stun block. I know this is a demo but I really hope they sort out the creases because this game could be good but right now it's got OK combat, exploring is nothing but kill this enemy and here's a chest and the world feels empty, it keeps mentioning ragnarok and the world is close to doom but the landscape is beautifully bright, everything is colourful and pops and it doesn't feel like the end is nigh at all.

Re: Hands On: Star Ocean: The Divine Force Needs Work, Serious Work

Valgore

I look forward to playing the demo and seeing if it's any better, I've got this down for day 1 but I'm close to cancelling and getting something else, it's a shame because I really was looking forward to this but let's see how the demo goes first. I have to say thank god for demos though cause I had Valkarie Elysium down as a day 1 too and after playing the demo, I'm not sure now. That game clearly doesn't know what type of game it wants to be, it's all over the place imo.
