Re: E3 2023 Has Been Officially Cancelled

Tigon_3rd

I used to take the week off and watch GameSpots coverage of E3 from the show floor, then watching GiantBomb and shortly after that it got less and less interesting, as fewer and fewer did show floor stuff, so I just kept watching the showcases. I have really been missing them and was looking forward to it this year, but alas I'll have to settle for Summer Game Fest.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PS5, PS4 Spoilers Rife As Retailers Break Street Date

Tigon_3rd

@Anke Yeah, if the major publishers (who wants to kill physical media) just made it so that consumers could order the physical versions through them directly, then this is less of a problem. By trying to just waste resources (talk about being delusional about climate change) on physical plastic media, but only include such a small amount of data, which would just be a verification to download the digital copy, then why not just drop the physical media altogether.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut Is Superb, But Sony Shouldn't Be Charging Extra for PS5 Upgrade

Tigon_3rd

I somewhat agree.
I actually wasn't that much against a $10 upgrade cost back when this was discussed, before this gen released.
But then again it may be hypocritical of me, because I will get the full PS5 game when my funds allow it (if they had, I would have pre-ordered it). Because I had been waiting for around 20 years for this kind of game, so I don't mind buying/support it again. This is also why I would say the upgrade should be free, because if there is but a small (large) enough group like me and also newcomers, which is going to be paying FULL price for the Director's Cut version, then that should be enough to offset the cost of the $10 upgrade.
Again it just seem like the corporation wants ALL the money instead of some of the money.

Re: Days of Play PS4 Sale - All Discounts on PS4 Games, PS Plus, PSVR, and More

Tigon_3rd

I've just bought Nier: Automata (for a 2nd time) the GotY edition for a little less than £15, and this was before the Days of Play.

It's always worth to look around for the best deals and not just stick to what you know, like amazon etc.
Although I don't live in the UK, I often buy my games from there, as they are around £6-12 (at current currency exchange rates) cheaper (new release) than where I live.

Re: Did You Know There's An Easy Way to Turn Off Your PS4 Controller?

Tigon_3rd

I'm also in the camp of "Why does it take 10 sec. to turn of, when you can do it faster by manually going into the option and turning it off."
I actually didn't know this, but because it takes 10 sec. and the only places I would use it is when using streaming services, such as Netflix, Youtube etc., and you have to sit and wait for 10 sec. while the thing you want to watch is paused, because it pauses automatically when you hold down the button, I'm not going to use it anyway.
No, make it 5 sec. and I might start using it.

Re: Reaction: DualSense Reveals Sony's Unrivalled Ambition for PS5

The SSD for me is going to be the game changer. And what I like the most, is that Sony is pushing the industry forward, especially by making it's expandable storage open to every hardware manufacture, who can produce an SSD with the speeds that the PS5 requires. This means that there will be competition between the SSD manufacturers, to get an SSD out on the market to capitalise on it as fast as possible, that competition will eventually lead to cheaper drives and best of all, it will lead to SSDs running at the PS5s blazing speeds becoming the norm across every device which runs SSDs, such as laptops and desktops. And here's where it will truly shine, because then developers who are developing for multi-platforms will be able to make their games run the same on PS5 and PC's, but since the Xbox can't keep up, my bet is that they will release a new box like the One X, which have the newer drives with faster speeds.
Overall the faster SSDs that Sony are making is going to catapult the gaming industry forward.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on Days Gone Yet?

Tigon_3rd

I was very intrigued by the reveal trailer, but at the end of the conference when they showed gameplay, I lost a little interest, because of zombies. But then the next gameplay reveal with the wire and using the zombies by luring them into a camp I was interested again. Mostly because I got the idea that it isn't exactly about the zombies, but more like the zombies are apart of the world and the story doesn't revolve around them.

Re: Poll: What Year Should Sony Launch the PS5?

Tigon_3rd

@Johnnycide I am sure they will continue with the same CPU architecture which is used in this gen, which means that the PS5 is going to be fully backwards compatible with everything on the PS4, even all your digital purchases, because else people would be so pissed now that many are and have transitioned mostly or partly to digital.

Re: Poll: What Year Should Sony Launch the PS5?

Tigon_3rd

First of all, you've got to think about all the great games they have lined up for 2018, to completely overshadow and possible get consumer to be think twice before buying those games because of a PS5 announcement is bad for business. But in 2019 I believe we'll be hearing rumpling of the PS5, and then at E3 2020 they announce that it's coming around this time (Oct. Nov.) 2020.
Although I can easily see them stretching it a year or two further out, if the software (games) keeps coming.

Re: Warframe's Big Open World Update Lands on PS4 Next Week for Free

Tigon_3rd

I tried it around two years ago on PC and couldn't get into it, but have had a thought since then that it might be better on PS4, and I finally gave it a go and it seems that they have made the beginning much better, as I was engaged from the very first moment.
And I would actually more call it a poor man's Destiny, than Splatoon.

Re: Opinion: Is PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Coming to the PS4?

Tigon_3rd

I would rather like Path of Exile to come to PS4.
The developer won't confirm nor deny it, they at least have said something along the lines of let's see how it does on Xbox first before thinking of other platforms.
Although I read someone saying it's because the game is made with DirectX and not OpenGL. But that shouldn't make it impossible, just really annoying and maybe more costly, but as mentioned, the PS4 has a huge install base that would easily make up that difference.

Re: PSN Name Changing, PSone Classics, Wishlists? We Don't Buy These PS4 Firmware 5.0 Rumours

Tigon_3rd

Yeah, the name change would be easy, by putting another layer (here a name) on top of your account, which would make it so when people log in after the update, they would be asked about if they want their account name to be their username or choose another. And when making a new account you have to choose a unique account name and then a username. It's not that hard, many companies do it already, Steam, Blizzard etc.
Only thing I can think of is that the persons who made the database backend really screwed the pooch.
