I'm working but hope to get a bit of time with Surviving Mars. I've got a sustainable colony and everything!

I've liked the look of the game so far and the artwork looks fun too so hoping for good things.

Excellent. Loved the first game.. and got it as a PS+ freebie.

Any news on whether there are the challenge rooms like before? Those were solid but it felt so good to complete them.

I only played JC3 as a PS+ freebie and found it a bit dull. I forget what the main story was even about and had no interest in the characters. While the gameplay was fun at times, it was massively repetitive, and I found it so frustrating that the challenges didn’t have a QuickStart option but you had to watch a loading screen every time you wanted to try again..

@wiiware I can normally get to the bridge boss and defeat him no problems but then get beaten every time in the Stilt Village.

Assassin's Blade, Frost Blast, Wolf Trap, Sinew Slicer is my ideal build so far.

That said, this review could easily have been written for that game as it had the same pluses and negatives as this game seems to. May well pick it up at some point.

You forgot VR missions so this list is null and void.

Snake Eater is still top for me. I loved the changes they made, although the lack of mini-map and sight cones took some getting used to. MGS a very close second and is a game I completed so many times.

Peace Walker was great fun on the PSP and I actually really liked the art style. So many features were used later on in TPP as well, including the beloved fulton system.

MGS4 is a weird one as I don't remember a lot of it at all. I played 1-3 so many times but that game only once and don't have anywhere near as fond memories of it, even if the ending is all worth it.

@zeppray Good luck! I'm struggling to get another game going now. God knows how some of these streamers make it look so easy..

Key points;
-Exporting rare metals is priority one
-Stick to living quarters as apartments are resource heavy
-Use outsourcing of tech early on to get a good head start
-Self sufficiency for polymers etc is key. Polymers as the easiest I found as fuel and water you often have in abundance early on.

@vgamerist Fun game but the combat was pretty repetitive. Thankfully they sorted that out for But Whole but both games don’t get the love they should (imo)

Still going with Surviving Mars. Got my best colony going with 250 colonists now and just coming up to Sol 100 for the first time.

The only downer I've heard so far was the boss fight shown at E3 was a bit underwhelming. I've still got everything crossed for a great game though.

New games I always buy on disc but, like mentioned in the article, I'm buying much more in the PS Store when the sales are on these days.

The added bonus of downloaded games is that I don't get kicked from the game when my console occasionally does the random disc eject thing..

XCOM2 fully deserves top spot and the different the War of the Chosen DLC makes is amazing; it's more like XCOM2.5 after playing it.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Tropico though. I've played it through twice with some of the DLC as well but I don't think it's actually that good a game. I do like that it's more mission based than games like City Skylines though.

I'm currently playing Surviving Mars though which probably warrants a place on this list. I'm just terrible at it.

@Fight_Teza_Fight ha, ditto. I played it to death and while I appreciate the continued work they've done since launch, it's not a game that makes me want to dip back in for the new monsters or events.

@crimsontadpoles Get rid of all the games you’ve yet to play and just get The Witcher. You won’t regret it and will probably be set for the next 3 months as well.

I never got the hang of it when they used it in Killzone; it felt really sluggish and just not right.

@Jake3103 didn't shopto have a big breach of credit card data a few years ago too? A lot of people used them on a forum I use until that happened.

I have never played Diablo. True fact.

I also only played the Borderlands Pre-Sequel earlier this year and remembered how much I love that series (Telltale game included). I still have BL2 to play on this gen but know how much I'll get sucked back in when I do..

@AFCC Yeah, the Collection has the DLC for each game. The first two are just battle arenas from what I remember but Infinite's (Burial at Sea) is story related and well worth playing.

@AFCC I was the same having only played Infinite after it was a PS+ game on the PS3. I'd only ever played the demo for Bioshock 1 and it didn't grab me. But I really enjoyed playing the whole series and the DLC for Infinite is great too.

As for myself, it's a game from my PS4 PS+ collection at the moment in Rayman Legends which is good fun. Loving the music levels at the end of each world!

I'm glad it had the vague storyline in it by the time I played through and thought it was a solid game. Not sure I'd go back to it again though.

I thought the game was well worth the £10 I spent on it in a PSN sale a year or so ago

Just so long as it doesn't mean they rest on their laurels and continue pushing themselves.

Until Dawn is great. Probably the best game I've picked up through PS+ on this generation.
