@LiamCroft Do you think this sequel will be on the GoTY contender list? Don't know if Sucker Punch has any plans for any DLC for this as what they did for Tsushima, and put it out in a Director's Cut edition sometime later.
Explain this to me. How on Earth did BL4 get generally positive reviews? The reviewers must have encountered this type of problem across all platforms, and yet they give out good scores. No wonder AAA devs / publishers put out broken games on launch, as they know people always "look the other way". This is also evident on Xbox Series consoles according to a PureXbox article.
Why isn't there a 'none' option for Q.12? I don't buy games digitally period, so I didn't answer it. At least I didn't get a message to falsely answer Q.12
There is no doubt that Expedition 33 is a spectacular debut title. It's parry / dodge mechanic takes queues from FromSoftware titles, especially Sekiro. The counterattack animation and sound effect on perfect and gradient parries never gets old. Agree with the rankings, but I think both E33 and KCD2 are brilliant RPGs in their own right and both deserve GoTY nominations.
Apart from Death Stranding 2, other potential great games coming are Metal Gear Solid Delta, Mafia Old Country, and Ghost Of Yotei. Time will tell how they come out.
Was Space Marine 2 also axed in Japan? That game also features chainsaw mutilations. If it wasn't, then how come Gears Of War cops the flak for that supposed reason? Is it due to the multiplayer part? It cannot be due to the main campaign?
I do like the removal of a mini-map in areas outside the overworld as what others noted it heavily encourages exploration, and there are landmarks to help with navigation. In fact, there is a distinct indicator on where to go for the main mission. They are lamppoles.
What does need work on is the parkour / platforming. I tried the platforming in Gestral Beach, and its frustrating, so I left. At least it's optional, but I do want those swimsuit outfits!
I don't think the Borderlands franchise warrants a premium $US80 pricetag. It's no GTA franchise, or Mario Kart. Then, who are "real" fans of Borderlands? I've played every game except BL3, and I'm no "real" fan. Of all BL games I've played, I never bought them Day1. Only when they're on sale.
Photomode would be great. You can make some incredible landscape / boss fight shots. Surprised given the CEO is an ex-Ubisoft employee, he didn't think of including one at launch?
My very minor niggles are the menu layout for pictos / luminas gets very messy very quickly, and the black background color doesn't help navigating either. Another is the parkour / platforming could be tweaked, as it is frustrating at times. Out of the characters, Lune is the worst for platforming as she glides.
At this rate, 4M copies might be sold by end of June or earlier. I'm playing on Gamepass, and based on that experience, I bought myself a physical PS5 copy.
Exactly, what resolution is referred to as 'high', 'medium', 'low'. Is it 4K for 'high', 1440p for 'medium', and 1080p for 'low'? As I have the base PS5, I guess choosing the Balanced Performance Mode as the article mentioned is best, but I think I can handle 30fps Prioritise Resolution Mode, unless the Monster Hunter game doesn't suit that.
That's a surprise. Thought, Warner Bros is totally against single-player games and actively push 'live-service' titles as the future for all videogames.
BTW, still have the 1st game in my backlog.
It's not only games. Apps for various streaming services couldn't be accessed either. If you rely only on the Playstation console to watch movies / TV shows via streaming services, when PSN is down you cannot.
Guess, most Switch consoles sold in 2020 was because it was readily available, unlike the Xbox Series and PS5. Come April 2, we'll know what the specs of the system is, but doubt it will be similar to PS5 or Xbox Series.
Why on Why do a live-service God Of War game? That is absolutely stupid. Can get why Sony wanted to do a Days Gone live-service game, but God Of War? Come on! And another stupid idea is make a SP-focused studio make a live-service title. Hasn't Sony execs learned anything from past attempts? Nope. None of Sp-focused studios ever had a successful live-service title. All were rubbish. I recall a quote from Farcry 3 "Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again expecting things to change". That is exactly what execs of game companies are doing.
I don't mind the Horizon games and its protagonist Aloy. Do the same people making the argument "Sony pushing the Horizon Franchise down our throats" give that same comment to the Call Of Duty and Assassins Creed franchises. How about all the "Souls" games from FromSoftware and all the knockoffs?
As Horizon is a Sony IP, don't know why Guerrilla Games / Sony agreed to release this on the Switch console. Then, as it is released on that platform, then why not Xbox? Lego games are always released on every available platform no matter what IP those are based off.
Never played any of these. Only heard that Angel Of Darkness was a broken buggy mess, which almost ended the Tomb Raider series. Hope this remaster version fixes everything wrong with it.
Apparently this title was an Xbox360 system seller back in 2006. I had that console but never gave this game any thought. A physical release is set for 8 Nov for those wanting that. Maybe, I should give this a go. Shame, Capcom didn't do a remake instead.
In Australia, the PS5 Pro costs $AU1199.95 (w/o disc drive) or $AU1360 with one. For a console, that is going into PC territory (and the PC can be tweaked with higher resolutions and framerates).
Guess, Sony only put out a "Pro" version, as they were "pushed" by the media, YouTubers, and the gaming public as they expected one to come out. This is the result. As for the price point, Sony kept bumping up the price of the PS5, so the Pro version would be more expensive. If they didn't then the PS5 Pro wouldn't cost so much.
At least Sony finally caught up with the SSD storage of the Xbox Series X. 2Tb should be the standard. The 16GB of GDDR6 memory is the same according to IGN. Expected it to be higher.
So, Sony now thinks that players will grab PS+ Extra or Premium and purchase games digitally. Not with the reputation of being frequently hacked. Sony should fix their security issues first before "forcing" players to buy games.
When the PS4 Pro came out, 4K gaming and TV/monitors were abundant. Currently, there are zero 8K games, and very rarely 8K TVs/monitors, so there's no point in future-proofing yourself. Maybe by the time the PS6 or PS7 rolls out, there are 8K games and monitors.
As for the showcase of PS3 / PS4 games, Sony should at least showcase Astro Bot with PS5 Pro enhanced features, or at least upcoming titles.
@carlos82 Xbox unveiled a 2Tb Xbox Series X in their recent showcase even though they are the ones who actively push digital-only format in the form of Gamepass, then Nintendo ain't ditching a drive system for their successor to the Switch console either.
Another thing to consider is that they is zero sales for the digial format and then Playstation can charge whatever they want and force delete the entire game from your library at anytime, as what happened several times before.
Then is the issue of broadband connection. Players would be forced to have a full-fibre NBN connection, that in Australia costs well over $AU130 / month for a 250Mb/sec connection. A 50mbps connection won't cut it anymore given the game's 150-200Gb file size. Anyway, those that have Gamepass Ultimate can opt for Cloud gaming for every new title that alleviates hours upon hours of waiting time.
If they can manage to put out an anniversary strategy guide, then at least FromSoftware or some other game dev can manage to bring out a remaster / remake of that game, that everyone is asking for.
On Xbox Gamepass, this title is now advertised as 'Fully Yoked Edition'. Guess this is the version that comes to PS5. I've played it on Xbox, and really liked it. Another hit from Obsidian.
Looks like another hit title from another Sth Korean game developer. First, was Neowiz with Lies Of P, and now this from SkillUp. Just how long is this title to finish? As mentioned about post-game is next to nought? Is it better to play this in Korean with English subtitles? Would pick this up on Friday.
Then there's the supposed 8K resolution (or upscaled version of it). Unlike the PS4 Pro, 4K resolution was already available for TVs and monitors, and games had that resolution. Currently, there is zero 8K resolution for any entertainment media in the near future, so there is zero point for a PS5 Pro in that area. Have to wait-n-see if GTA6 will support native 4K/60fps on the Pro version.
Wonder what's the sales figures outside of Japan is like. We get only Japan's sales figures. FF16 is also a PS5 exclusive and 4.6mil Japanese own a PS5 console according to the data shown. Maybe this FF7 Remake is primarily for nostalgic fans. I never played the original, but only started on the remake yesterday.
BTW, as FF7 Remake came with one disc and FF7 Rebirth came with two discs, is FF7 Part 3 gonna come with three discs??

1. How does this game perform on the base PS5?

Re: Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Remake Is All But Official Now, More Than a Graphics Upgrade
Just how is this "official"? This article mentions "as the project has now appeared (temporarily) on an employee's LinkedIn profile", which doesn't mean anything. Checked da Internet, and every news article mentions "Rumour". Has any official word been announced by Ubisoft directly? Nope.
https://www.psu.com/news/assassins-creed-black-flag-remake-ps5-could-arrive-as-early-as-next-year/
