Played the timed demo for a bit, got really annoyed with the whole look of the game and then read online about black flag. Started to play that (on ps plus) and it's basically the same game but black flag actually felt better as a whole feel and presentation - even with the outdated visuals it was still better than this new one. I didn't know anything about either game until the 8 hour demo appeared and these reports and I normally avoid most ubi games as I simply can't keep up and don't have 70hours to play games. But black flag looks fun enough to keep me going until this game appears on ps plus, with probably the swave of patches to fix the current errors in the game.

Tekken 8 is probably my most fav fighting game for a good time. I've nearly platted it and also been having a good few battles online and actually winning a few!
Last night I played as king last night and discovered some Tekken 3 reflexes with some of the combos - was weird as I've not really played Tekken properly since 3 over 20 years!

@get2sammyb that's always a bad sign! I'm sure the developers would have had real pressure in making this game in a ridiculous timeframe and therefore the love and attention most games and I get the feeling no one loved this one! It makes no sense to me as they could have had another 6months and made something profitable, alas this looks like it's a real stinker.

3/10 is low for sure.

I just want ghost 2 to be honest, this looks like it might scratch that itch for a while - but I'll wait for it to reduce before considering it. Also I only really have time to invest in one game at a time - and that currently is Tekken 8!

It's a shame with these updates they don't keep going beyond a year as I would feel better about buying a cheaper season pass than a complete new game or buying a complete game knowing it will only last a year. E.g. I bought Tekken 8 knowing that's going to be supported for years to come and I am more likely going to be invested in the season pass content.

I've not played enough to notice massively overpowered mains, although Azucena kicked my arse many times so maybe she's overpowered or I'm not so good with my mains of Paul and Leo.

9 for me. It's definitely one of the best fighters in recent years, just sheer fun to play. I've decided to invest time in learning a few combos too which really helps the game!

comes out from the Tekken 8 bubble - oh yer, forgot I've got all the SF6 characters from the season pass. Shame I didn't enjoy SF6 as much as I enjoy Tekken 8 and therefore was a bit of a waste of money. Still, at least I didn't buy MK1!

@Doctor_BK the PS2 version was more complete for sure but I loved the Dreamcast version

Tekken 8 now I've finished Spidey 2. Diablo 4 might get a look in but really have not started to play that at all. Also got a vibe for virtual pinball at the moment so reliving some classics

@NinjaNicky cya in 2028. I went with the approach I would rather be playing it all that time rather than holding off for a few quid. Still, each to their own budget etc

Playing for sure and had a lot of fun today. Won't be playing any more as I'm full of flu and shouldn't really be playing. Great fun though! If you've not bought any if this current gen of fighting games - get this one first!

@Ernimus_Prime in terms of playtime, I think I've played all forza's more each tha I have got as they are slightly more fun. Particularly the latest Forza Motorsport which has some great physics and the feeling of lack of gripping when loosing the weight distribution etc. gt7 still feels so lifeless, but perhaps I need to dip into it again (I completed everything previously but now loads more content).

Fun fact: in the demo playing the super ghost mode - playing the CPU ghosts you can play Vs a few extra characters. Not devil jin but panda and a few others. Only less than two days away!

I've been playing the demo and it's great. Played a bit of Tekken 7 today and realised how much slower it is, Tekken 8 is snappy and the battles more technical. The counters move more fluid and it has a much faster rhythm.

@ShogunRok - how's the balancing between the characters? I had the CNT and it was quite unbalanced, but I take it that's been sorted now?

@Bamila some looked like footage from the PS3 version of smackdown...
I would have seriously got excited if a) there were more old wrestlers b) it wasn't so expensive c) it will appear in ps plus extra d) I had time to play it as this week is Tekken 8 and that's going to be consuming my time!
£65 opening price for a game that lasts a year max is also too steep for me

Shame the fabled deal for ps extra discount from this week seemed to be "completely random accounts but really not many", I would have subscribed again. I'm not paying £100 for an extra subscription! Might sub for plus so I can play tekken8 online but really looking for a cheap deal and not the full price.

@Marquez depending on your country, I would suggest gaming is low paid and a cutthroat industry where game developers are 10 a penny. I would also suggest your son considers working for a big defence space corporate. While that's a lot less glamorous than gaming, it can be well paid and consistent work. However it does have a real world and tangible side to it, which sometimes can be very rewarding. Recommend that route rather than gaming, unless you "know" people in the industry it's a bit too closed off for us meer mortals to obtain real money.

@Bagwag82 32 to start, 4 in season pass 1. Should imagine they will see how sales go then go for season pass 2/3 and maybe 4 over the next 4 years.

I've maxed out the demo, I played in the closed network test - each time they add to the game and make it better. I wasn't going to pre order but I think I might for this one - been having some interesting excellent fights. Miles more technical than SF6 and loving that

My five year old will enjoy this! Hopefully the controls are not too difficult and we can get building / destroying!

Give us a new virtua tennis any day! Much preferred the arcade style to simulation sorts.

Wasnt this what happened to the shop that game bought out (game station) before that shop closed it's doors a month or two later? Game is so over priced and I'm surprised they have lasted this long

I'm not sure why people are even discussing DLC with fighting games - it's now the current norm. As long as Tekken doesn't go down the dead or alive 6 route or lootboxes / 3 types of currency etc then I'll be happy to buy season passes and expand the roster. Quite a big roster to start with also, so that's better than SF6 already.

It's shaping up to be great, the demo I've enjoyed way more than SF6, mainly the battles are more exciting and technical. I'll probably be buying soonish!

After having a blast with the demo I think I'll be buying Tekken 8. I bought street fighter 6 and I've not really played after getting bored after a week. The matches are not technical enough on street fighter and on the modern controls mode you can just button bash to win. Tekken 8 is like a more fluid Tekken 7 without the clunk, it plays and loads smoothly and the matches are usually quite different from each other. The characters need balancing though as a couple of them just kick your ass Vs some which I can double perfect.

Still, I'm looking forward to the game, let's hope they don't get too greedy on DLC!

I mean the studio puts out some great stuff but the management layer could do with a clear out. So I mean a take over might not be so bad, ultimately the current management layer would be wanting that anyway as it would mean a tonne of moneies for them. Might fix the studio

I loved every minute of Spiderman 2, especially the last couple of missions. Brilliant fun and I can only wish for more. I went and played the other two and they really don't feel as polished and the old games are definitely more repetitive than sm2. I would love some DLC but I don't think we are going to get any. At least new game + is coming and I can play that.

I always find these reports don't help because a simple Reddit search and you can find everything, but I wouldn't be curious at all if I didn't even know about the attack. So would it not be better to not spread awareness of the hacks by simply not reporting at all?

I'm still surprised codies sold, does anyone know if it was an aggressive buy out or anything? Effectively EA consuming the competition so there are no more left and it has a monopoly in sports games. I.e. bad for consumers, we can expect only minimal quality improvements if any to F1 and wrc games from now on, or even less quality.

Sad days, I actually went to the codies building once just to have a look - was quite interesting as such.

Dead or alive 6 is still more extreme than this in some respects as in order to buy all costumes etc that's a couple of hundred quid. Capcom seems to be going this same way however. Hopefully Tekken 8 doesn't follow this path, but mortal kombat 1 takes things a bit further.

It's just plain greed. At least with Sony games you generally get all of the game, with worthy and inexpensive DLC. Ghost of tsushima has been the best example in recent times for upgrades - £10 for PS5 and £20 for DLC. I was happy with that model. But £90 for a game + add ons, plus then effectively £5 a costume is ridiculous.

Best thing to do - if no one purchases them, then capcom should listen to people. However they are one of the best companies for biggest money grabs, so this fits that template well.

So wait, no more.expansion packs for cyberpunk? I thought there was at least 2 or 3 expansion packs planned or was it just the one?

@Westernwolf4 I've had a few of these issues too. Mainly when my 6 year old takes over and really tests a game to its limit! Hopefully with a few iterations we should see the game back to its standard quality and without these niggling (and seemingly rare) bugs. Maybe it depends how you play I guess!

I'm more interested in Uno this month coming to extra than I am ps plus. So it's a poor month from me, normally there is at least 1 game I'm interested in however there is none this month.

It would make sense for DLC for this one as the game feels massive like the first one. Miles never did feel like it was going to expand, even though it probably could have, but it generally just felt like a side quest in it's own right.

Really loving Spidey 2 at the moment, not really got that fat but I'm enjoying every moment! Shame it's a little bit buggy compared with the last one, hopefully the patches will fix those. I've come across a car which was in a chase I landed on ready to get the bad guys, only to find I was pushed into the ground and massive clipping. This was fixed with a jump, only to find no bad guys anymore. Odd!

I really wish games with the recent easier plats Vs this sorta thing. Sadly, I don't have 55hours or more to complete a game anymore. I love the.sega arcade feel in a game, we are getting there though!

@JB_Whiting well I came at fighting games way before the films, and I do enjoy them for different reasons. The films for the art, style, story and ability (usually Stunts), the games for those moments when you get unbeatable. Tbh I'm still only good at ssf2t and everything else I don't think I've ever won a match online! I probably just need the practice and time, something which I don't have much of right now but hopefully will start again end of year.

Hmm this seems very ninja / dead or alive type additions, but at least those you get extra charectors as well as a lot of costumes. They are really expensive, but this is taking the biscuit.

One issue I have with the game is that there are so many currencies it's very confusing. Maybe I'm simple but why are there so many?

Well that sounds wicked. I wish all games did this sort of thing rather than DLC. I really enjoyed buying and playing this one and I'm glad I didn't have to pay any more post purchase. Refreshing!

Not April fools, so is this real? Oh, that price tag - yep it's real!

Let's hope this is just as accessible to buy and not scalped just like most of everything else. The hope is that those with disabilities get these first.
