Re: F1 Manager 2022 Gameplay Revealed, Plots a Course to PS5, PS4 This August

Initial thoughts - commentary could be limited, leading to repetition. However the in car voices sound brilliant, and my god races actually look good (presuming thats not just an intro video only). It would be a shame for them not to include driving, however I guess licenses prevent that. Still, defo one to wait for the actual reviews post launch, as it could either be brilliant or limited.

@itsfoz zero chance, sony has explicitly stated they are not doing day one releases as they wish to capitalise before adding to the subscription service. Still, I would be happy to be charmed into that ideal, because then it saves me the inevitable £70 price tag (or more) with this game

@Gloamin no they were there last build. In fact, I'm wondering if this a a feature of switching from ray tracing mode to performance mode. I've noticed it loads since switching and in fact the popin is worse than the draw distance of my Dreamcast! Loads of detail everywhere, but when it comes to shadows under a bridge, there is so much pop in it reminds me of the ps1 days....*
*Btw, I'm a pain in the arse in real life too.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Continues Behind the Scenes Look with Car Collectors

I bought a ps5 due to the hype of this game, so I really hope it lives up to it. The problem for me is I played wreakfest then gt sport and suddenly gt felt lifeless and like driving a ghost box around a circuit. Wreakfest even before haptics had a real sense of speed and a feel of impact when hitting things.
I really hope GT adds that level of realism to the next game and not just continue on with the less detailed souless vibe you get from GT sport.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Exec Shawn Layden Is Concerned About the Rising Cost of AAA Games

Yes if games get too big and take too long to make, to have the same amount of games you can either have more studios or sequals. Nintendo seem to be all about sequals with some new ip thrown in a few times a generation, however I'm starting to see the intelligence in their model as this prevents the super reliance on let's say 10 aaa games per generation.
Let's see where we end up, but I'm starting to wonder exactly how many games we will see this generation, maybe less because games are now too big!
