@get2sammyb These are my EXACT thoughts…with a few addendums: The GTA series was a staple of my childhood through San Andreas. Then it fell off for me. I have started GTA V now 3 to 4 times. I last stopped at the submarine mission…you know the one. I just can’t seem to make my way through it, and at this point, I don’t think I’m going to. I am A huge fan of single player, open world sandboxes, and the clunky of V always loses my attention eventually. That being said, no one makes an open world quilt like Rock*, and if the gameplay looks even close to what the trailer looked like, I’m all in. The hype is real, and 2025 is a LONG way away.
This was is a dud for me, but after reading the Sable review, I’m willing to give it a shot. I couldn’t care less about the other two, but maybe…JJJJJUUUUSSSSSTTTTT maybe Sable will be one of those diamon in the rough kind of discoveries.
I’m FOR SURE older than you are, as I can remember the day I opened my Super Nintendo on Christmas, but I can also FOR SURE remember the first time I played Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation. You mention nostalgia in this article. Simply reading this article has flooded my grey matter with so much nostalgia, that I couldn’t help but read it without a smile on my face living vicariously through your AND simultaneously through mine. Beautifully written.
This may be removed for being “un constructive” but I’m going to post it anyway: Top 3 best voices in my lifetime: 1) Sir David Attenborough (I would call him a national treasure, but I’m American…he’s a world wide treasure.) 2) Morgan Freeman. A national treasure. 3) Aaron Bayne. I could listen to all 3 of you read a phone book and be pleasantly soothed.
I am the only person that I know that watched the show, and played the games. This being a video game website, I understand the comments. But the show is not pandering to the video game crowd. They have already proven that in the (FANTASTIC) first season, and everyone I know that didn’t play the game, loved the show. The show is its own thing. Yes. The actor cast is going to have to put up with some truly reprehensible internet trolls who value their “she doesn’t look like I think she should look” opinion way more than they actually should. The only thing that should matter is if the actor is right for the story the show is telling.
@Cherip-the-Ripper She was ABYSMAL in that movie. You were better off not knowing she was a Bond girl. Eva Green however…replaced Diana Rigg as my all time #1.
@Drago201 It’s not just a massive billboard. It’s a concert venue on the inside. U2 has currently sold out about 20 shows on the inside. They’re just maximizing their revenue on the outside. Long love capitalism.
Ummm…$455?!?!?! I’m not a collector of these things, so I don’t know if that is something someone that is in to collecting these things thinks is reasonable, but that price is WWWWIIIILLLLDDDD to me.
This “game” is the bane of my existence. My 9 year old stepson has a nuclear breakdown at least once a week about losing money (chores allowance he “never spent”) on this game. It’s SUPER predatory, and it is everything that is wrong with the gaming landscape.
I’m playing it. I’m a couple hours in, and genuinely enjoying it, but at the moment it is OVERWHELMING! I’m going to stick with it, as I’m sure I’ll get used to the systems, but I REALLY wish some of the things were explained a lot better. Low key hoping they’ll release a patch with better tutorials.
@nessisonett Dude…WHAT?!?!?! They’re video games! Either play them and enjoy them, play them and don’t enjoy them (which I don’t know why you would), or don’t play them at all. IT’S A GAME!!!
@Westernwolf4 I don’t spend a whole lot of time in internet comment sections, but that may just be the single greatest response to a comment I have ever seen.
This…game…CLAPS!!! Loved everything about the demo. Being that this is a Final Fantasy game, it is unsurprising that this could be the greatest soundtrack of all time. It’s epic.
Based on this very small sample size, narratively it puts off “What Remains of Edith Finch” vibes, which was a master class in story telling. On top of that, the game looks gorgeous. Consider my interest piqued.
@JohnGrey While I have disagreed with most of your arguments so far, that golf game analogy was just about the most hilarious thing I have read in a long time, and I think I you need to be acknowledged for it. Don’t let my chat handle fool you…I mean it. Bravo, sir.
I suppose I can understand being a bit miffed, but “outrage” is a strong word. As someone who bought this completely broken game on day one, I found this to be hilarious. There are legitimate things to be outraged about…this isn’t one of them.
