Re: After GTA 6 Delay, Wolverine PS5 Doubles Down on Fall 2026 Release Date

Sacrosanctus

GTA VI is going to sell more PS5s than any first party "exclusive", of curse it impacts every release, I'd say even from the entire entertainment industry, not just the gaming industry. Many PC-only players will buy a PS5 just to play GTA VI, some people will not go to a movie or they will cancel their Netflix subscription in order to have enough money for GTA VI.
Hopefully Wolverine will release early September 2026, I have a huge interest for both games and I'd prefer them being at least two months apart.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Secret PS5 Exclusivity Saga Rages Again

Sacrosanctus

Usually the PS 3rd party deals were PS timed-exclusives only, therefore not even a PC version would release for at least a year. In this case is for sure because of the potato Series S. Can't wait to see how GTA 6 will play on that thing, I assume it's part of the reason why it got pushed to May 2026, if not the main reason.

Re: Reaction: The PS5 Discourse Around State of Plays Is Becoming Draining

Sacrosanctus

It was mid, no GoW Greek Saga Remaster, no Bloodborne remaster for PS5, not even more details on Ghost of Yotei which releases this year. I'm mildly interested in Tides of Annihilation, Saros and the Stellar Blade DLC, but that's about it.

That being said, it was better than most State of Plays, but because we know several 1st party studios have been cooking for some time, a lot of people expected more.

I hope we'll get a proper PS Showcase in May with tons of games from the 1st party studios, I'm thinking Ghost of Yotei, Saros, Wolverine, Heretic, GoW Greek Saga Remaster and more.
This gen is almost over, we need another PS Showcase at least as good as the 2021 one, having more gameplay this time.

EDIT: It's the 20th anniversary of God of War, so besides the Greek Saga remastered they should at least tease the theme of the next installment, I'm thinking Egypt.

Re: Spider-Man 2's Looking Like Another PC Own Goal from Sony

Sacrosanctus

@KoopaTheGamer like I've said, I have no problem with games releasing to PC eventually, it's the rate of games being released to PC compared to new 1st party games being released on PS that's making me disappointed in PS this gen.

Exclusive software matters, it's why Nintendo is thriving.

Re: Spider-Man 2's Looking Like Another PC Own Goal from Sony

Sacrosanctus

@Jrs1 all the power to you man, that's a legit reason to have a PS.

@KoopaTheGamer software and exclusive experiences matter a lot. Look no further than Xbox sales and how hard they've tanked now that they have no exclusives.

I bought a PS5 in 2021, my first ever console, so I can branch out on the different franchises that I could not play on my PC, but now everything is on PC, so I could just, erm...not buy a PS5 to begin with? Of curse I feel like my purchase has been massively devalued.

EDIT: I think I will sell the console after Wolverine and most probably won't buy the PS6.

Re: Spider-Man 2's Looking Like Another PC Own Goal from Sony

Sacrosanctus

I feel like my PS5 devalues more and more with every game being ported to PC (and I'm actually a PC gamer first). While I am not against PS games being ported to PC eventually, here's an idea, I think it's best to port a game to PC only after the next game in that franchise is released on PS. For example release Ghost of Tsushima on PC only after Ghost of Yotei is released on PS. This rule should only apply to 1st party games.

Right now there is no Spider-Man game on PS that's not also on PC, same for Horizon, soon it will be the case for TLOU, while for God of War there's 2018 and Ragnarok on PC (while the Greek saga isn't even available to buy on PS besides GoW 3). This is unacceptable imho.

What are the remaining reasons to buy a PS5 right now when it comes to exclusives? 30 fps Bloodborne, Uncharted 1-3? I think that's about it.

Re: Could Wolverine PS5 Launch in 2025? Insomniac Avoids the Question

Sacrosanctus

Most likely for 2026, Q3-Q4 2026 even, this is so bad. I remember that 2021 Showcase, thinking this is a game for the mid-gen, probably around a PS5 Pro would be released, only for it to be a late gen game and probably the last big first party game released before PS6!!! (either this or that Heretic whatever game from ND).

Damn I was so hopeful back in 2021, having HFW and God of War: Ragnarok in sight for 2022, now I'm not a fan of Spider-Man, but we knew the sequel would come in 2023, this gen looked so stacked in the beginning...and then it tanked.

This is why we're saying this gen barely has any games: Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Ghost of Yotei are the only blockbuster AAA games from first party studios released for the PS5-only (not also for the PS4) in 5 whole years! And they're just safe sequels! Also spare me with Astro Bot, not even Sony considers it a flagship game, based on this: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2024/02/sony-predicts-slide-in-ps5-sales-with-no-major-existing-ips-planned-before-march-2025

Re: Reaction: Why There Are So Many Unnecessary PS5 Remasters for Games That Don't Need Them

Sacrosanctus

Why don't they remake / remaster the entire God of War Greek Saga in one game collection while they're at it (including God of War 1-3, Ascension, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta)?
Besides God of War 3, there is actually no way you can purchase them. The only way to play the first games on a PS5 is via the horrible cloud system that's on the most expensive subscription tier.

Re: Judge for Yourself with Official PS5 Black Myth: Wukong Gameplay

Sacrosanctus

The game released and its fine, though people were right to be somewhat concerned. Personally I knew this can't be a Cyberpunk 2077 situation (you were exaggerating guys), that game released on the threshold of two console generations and it was on the following systems besides PC: PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X. When it comes to consoles, Black Myth Wukong is on PS5 and PS5 only, far easier to have the compatibility sorted out.

Edit: I forgot about Google Stadia, lol.

Re: Space Marine 2 Serves Up Worthy Look at Meaty Multiplayer Modes

Sacrosanctus

@Jaz007 @PuppetMaster Fine, have your multiplayer, I just hope we don't get a Call of Duty campaign in length.
Edit: I've just checked and the campaign is about 12 hours long, that's...ok I guess, could be a bit longer. The thing is, because I won't subscribe to PS+ ever again, I will only get to experience 1/3 of the game, so I'm going to wait for a sale.

Re: Preview: Ignore The Haters, Concord Is a Good PS5 Shooter We Can't Wait to Play More Of

Sacrosanctus

Hard pass, I only play single-player games on my PS5 and never sub to the PS+. This seems like a generic, uninspired Overwatch, at least Overwatch has better character design and gave us some corn, lol and is also f2p now. Make no mistake, this Concord will have f2p level of MACROtrasactions, despite being buy to play.
Like others have said, I will never support Sony's live service push.

Re: Don't Worry, Sony's Most Recognisable Studios Are Still Focused on Single Player PS5 Games

Sacrosanctus

Yeah I do worry, because for example Naughty Dog were shifted into the live service scene, then they dropped it after years of development to the point where we may not see a tentpole single-player game from them in years, I guess the end of this gen at the earliest.

Moving on to the others: Guerilla, Santa Monica and Insomniac released their tentpole games not that long ago, so we're really left with Sucker Punch releasing their safe sequel to Ghost of Tsushima by the end of 2025. I expect something like how GoW: Ragnarok, HFW or Spooder-Man 2 were, not really moving the needle by much or be as impactful compared to the first installment (in the case of GoW I mean the 2018 game).

Rant over.
