Hey, thanks for this article even over a year later. It's surprisingly difficult to find the exact details on these things and it becomes something of a hassle to find out what the best experience is by preference. I think I'll either start with Moderate or Hard, although I'm not exactly sure what "very limited resources" would mean. As in, if it's annoyingly little and you rarely get anything and can even miss everything.
I might also want to turn off "Listen", if that's even possible at all difficulties, but considering you can customize a lot I suppose it is, as I noticed in the first game I really started to rely on it. - And while I even realized while playing that some stuff might be stupidly difficult, particularly the parts where there are a lot of infected in cramped spaces, in combination with the 3rd-person perspective, and thus you can't really see or know what the obstacles are or right path to go is, it could become a matter of trial and error, which is something I hate in games.
Then again, it just feels like a wall-hack, as it is, and thus a cheat, because you're supposed to be a human in a vulnerable position and be at some risk. So I'm really on the fence about that one, but yea, guess I'll figure it out and I guess I can switch it at all times, if I remember correctly.
@SoulChimera - You smashed multiple PS4s?... Are you just trying to sound tough or cool or get attention something?... Cause why would you do that even at the slightest hint of "uselessness" while that's far from the truth?... Are you so hungry for destruction that you'll look for any reason to do so?... Weird.
@roe For some... Very few... - 10-15 years from now, people will want, have, or be trying to get a PlayStation 6 and the PS4 will be ancient. - It will not matter, no matter how hard people are trying to act like they will care about the PS4 10 or even 5 years from now. - By then, PS5s will be all over the place and you can play any significant PS4-game on it as well.
@AdamNovice I don't understand why that would be necessary, though... Whát exactly is de-synchronizing and what is causing it? - Is it a TV-thing?... Like the latency or whatever... On top of that, why would it not be in any other games just because this is a time/timing-based rhythm-game? - Timing certainly is critical in other games, but I never read about de-syncing issues and complaints about lack of calibration with those. - If there's actual problems, it seems like the game itself to blame.
@carlos82 I just don't know if they'd have kept "HZD2" so quiet for all this time and not just teased it before, like alongside "Godfall" or something. - They could still drop a trailer this year of course, but it seems a little late... Unless it's just perfect.
And I'm especially not sure they'd do that if they are to work on getting the original game to the PC. - Yea, Guerilla is quite the studio now, and reportedly they're also moving to an actual larger building this year, which probably means they could make multiple teams for different projects. - But I honestly don't know how far along a second game would really be and if it would be anywhere near finished. Considering their last release was in 2017 (the DLC to the first game), it's possible.
@Ridwaano I would recommend that. - I recommended that to a friend... Well, you could of course keep the Collector's Edition and then just buy a PS5-version, then sell the PS4 copy. It might cost you a little money, but for console-players I think that's the way to go. Unless you just don't want the Collector's Edition and you can wait yet again a few more months.
Like I said in another comment; You won't do the game justice with a still-current console. I would recommend it on PC, ultimately, but the equivalent of a current PC is a PS5.
CDPR's games are PC-titles... This game is, all the Witchers are... They just are, on a technical level, and they feel like it. It's just the type of games they are and make, especially with the developer being so ambitious.
And because of that and the point in time and technology we are today, "CyberPunk" will be one of those titles that will have a "simplified" version on current consoles and a "full" version on the next consoles, while the PC will already have that from day one. - It's the same thing as what happened with "GTA 5", which is still really weird to even consider that it came out on PS3, which took a PS4 to basically be like the PC-version (even though, I know, the PC-version came later).
Other similar cases will be "TLoU2" and "Ghost of Tsushima", even though they will still look great on PS4 (and not be on PC). - Not to say that "CyberPunk" won't look at least solid on PS4, but it won't be up to its full potential. - One problem, for example, is the amount of memory... It will be one of those titles (like "RDR2") that recommends 12 GB of RAM available for PC (with the "norm" being 16 GB installed these days), and the PS4 only has 8 GB... So they will already have to have a way to stuff all of their dense, vertical world somewhere, not to even speak of all the character-models and what have you. And they'll certainly have a bunch of effects lowered or even disabled.
You're just not going to do this game justice running it on a PS4. At least it won't be a smooth ride. - I'd definitely make sure you get the digital download version onto a very fast and massive SSD, to at least counter any loading-issues there might be. But again, this a PC-game and you're gonna need a PS5 to match that. Then you'll probably get ray-tracing and everything, but not the PS4 and Xbox One... They should probably not even get this game, but they were not gonna do that and it's too late now anyway.
@gollumb82 Your loss... It's supposed to be a lot more fleshed out in terms of gameplay and also "lore" (ugh) now, as well as made a much more interesting world/universe. The 2016 one was indeed "just" a reboot (done really well), but they had to make what DOOM was and introduce it to the current generation of videogames, making a base for it first. It was only the beginning...
And what kind of logic is "the first game was boring so I'll skip the next"? - It doesn't mean it's the same... It's like those people who won't play "Uncharted 2" because they found the first game to be too "basic" or whatever. - Also in that case; Their loss.
Very cool (or hot, the console probably). But I don't know why one would play a game like this, especially a FAST first-person-shooter, on a console (and a gamepad). I guess people enjoy that kind of horror, but this is a PC-game, period. - You played it on your 2/3/486, your Pentiums and so on... Now you play it on your Windows 10 machine.
And yea, I know, a lot of people don't have a PC and they'll stick to their console. And it's also great that they make sure consoles get the support, but how do you even play DOOM on a console/gamepad? XD
Not as much as they will at the end of the console's lifecycles... Somehow they seem to be able to make games look better and better on the same hardware over a span of like 5-10 years. Yea, they'll start pushing performance, or losing it rather, but they'll look more amazing years after the consoles launch, or when there will be like improved versions of the consoles.
@Flaming_Kaiser Why unoptimized games?... Consoles are just PCs now, especially with them having PC-hardware in them. Frickin' PS5 will basically have CPU and GPU I have, and I doubt Xbox will have something much different. - This isn't the PS3 or PS2 era... I mean, guess why something like "Hellblade" will come to Xbox and PC... Cause it's no problem to do. - The biggest problem in modern console history was the frickin' PS3, which, unless the game was designed for its processor, the optimization would suffer. And if a games WAS developed for the PS3, it would need to be reworked entirely to work for any other platform. - Today, especially with the upcoming consoles, it will be the least effort ever to port games.
And Microsoft is going to support PC anyway, because they have Windows. They have been trying to do that since the whole "Games for Windows Live", which they then phased out, but now the same thing is built into Windows 10. And guess what; I'm logged into Xbox right now and I don't even have an Xbox.
I'll be waiting for "Hellblade 2" on Windows, thanks very much...
You know, I call myself a "fan" (quotation marks included, I suppose), even though I've only gotten around to playing the first two main ones, but I've had 3 and 4 on disc sitting around for years now (and I only just got a PS4 Pro in like last November). But while the first game is special to me for it being such a reinvigorating videogame-experience, or an entertainment-experience in general, as well as something I finally thoroughly enjoyed on a console and with a gamepad, the second is clearly the better one of the two, being much more developed (clearly because of ND's experience and budget and such) and acting like the "Dark Knight" of its trilogy (in that it's bigger, better, and the "hit" of the somewhat more of a sleeper hit that is the first, just like 'Batman Begins'). - And the second is special to me as well, it helped me through a depression no less...
I was aware of the third and fourth coming out of course, but I was just in a place that I didn't get around to them (let alone the fourth without having a PS4 for years, I honestly bought the game years before I had the system for it). I'm sure I'll love the third for different reasons, and as I understand the last (which I didn't expect would still come) is the most developed one in terms of like story, characters, world, writing, also a more serious tone (I guess Hennig wasn't the main source of what made the actual products good). So I suppose like most people I'll find 4 to be the best, but it could as well be 3, who knows... Or maybe I'll love "Lost Legacy" the most, but it'll probably just feel as a solid extra.
I haven't even played "Last of Us", shamefully, but I will this year, the PS4-version right away, what better way is there. And honestly, I was so impressed with the first two Uncharted-games, and the response to "Last of Us", I have pre-ordered "TLoUII" blindly, and I RARELY pay "full price" for any game. It's usually discounts/sales or even used... But this one, I was like "Gimme dat statue...".
I know they're different games, but that's just to illustrate what kind of impression the (first two) Uncharted games made. And I played those like 10 years ago...
@MorriganIsHot Pretty painful to see the people will accept 25 USD for reasonable for a mediocre game just because it's, probably not only because it's of a thing they're a fan of, but also because it's 5 Dollars off, and also way lower than 60 Dollars. I seriously just purchased the Spider-Man game with all its DLC for like 35 Dollars, and honestly I think that's plenty of money out of my bank account for a videogame, even if it's a highly praised one. Why... Why would you spend 25 Dollars on LBP Karting... I know I'm on about something a random stranger did 8 years ago, but why...
@Kienda Peobably not. All the dumb European dudes around here will keep buying into FIFA and CoD. - I was talking to this 20-something year old recently and asked him about what he thinks of the state of franchises like FIFA, and he found it "pretty cool".
People have no clue and the dominant customer and players of videogames are the generation that grew up into thinking DLC, XP, lootboxes, card drops , player packs and microtransactions are the norm. So don't expect them to boost the sales of ART like "TLoU" and what not. The statistics will always be in favor of mindless shallow addictive content over meticulously crafted pieces of work with depth to them.
@Stocksy I don't know who claims that exclusives are the draw. All I know is that most people would get a console for gaming and they'll mostly go for generic titles such as FIFA and CoD. - I mean, that should be a surprise to nobody. You have the shooting type crowd and the sports type crowd. - I bet the statistics would be extremely similar on the Xbox side, at least the same titles would pop up.
But the reason people are drawn to a specific console or platform is WHICH exclusives it has. Which in my personal case would be the PlayStation, obviously. In fact I only have it for exclusives, as I mainly use the PC. But then I'm also a very unusual individual, and I don't even touch the majority of the titles mentioned in this article.
But aesthetically Imlike the black and blue, white and blue, or transparent. And I think transparent would work best to let the game's artwork come through and not clash whatever other design there could be. I mean, imagine the white one on the "Last of Us 2" artwork... It would totally clash!
But I don't care, cause I will never buy physical copies anymore anyway. And if I do it would be with some kind of set and I wouldn't care what it looked like.
I've decided that any games from 2007/2008 onwards isn't logical to get on disc anymore, unless it's like some kind of special edition or whatever. At least for PlayStation games I've gone all-digital for the PS4, because what's the point of messing around with cases and discs?
"Resellability"? - Better make sure you know you want the game before you impulse-buy. And don't even bring up "I want it on disc so I actually own it physically and can use it for the rest of my life." argument, because it's heavily flawed in this day and age. (Not only will you stop playing the games anyway, but whatever you have on your precious discs is immediately outdated. The vast majority if not all will probably need an update for whatever reason. Why would you buy that?)
I'm from the late '80s, by the way, so I've been through the age of boxed and cased games. Cute and nostalgic and all, but that's for the old games of then. Add a resolution for this year to ditch physical copies of games and save materials, space, even time. Oh, and demand collector's editions with download-codes. Why hasn't that been a thing for like a decade already?...
@wardener007 An SSD... The thing the "Pro" should've had by default. - It probably smooths out stutters, as it loads the world in the background from a sluggish little hard drive, and will definitely cut down on loading times.
I don't know if they've optimized anything about the game in the mean time, possibly, but if you have a stock PS4 Pro, you shouldn't be surprised about hangups with a game like this.
Myself I will get at least a 2TB SSD of proper speed and load all games onto it, and there's nothing more you can really do to "fix" performance issues. I'll hold off on even purchasing Days Gone until I have an SSD for it.
Too bad to read it's not that good, because the art-style really drew my attention. - For people looking for something remotely similar in its stead, have a look at 'Mark of the Ninja'; The art-style is different, almost more comicbook-like, but also like a side-scroller and Japanese-inspired and all that.
But for this game... They should probably re-make it or something, improve the gameplay but use the same visual presentation and plot perhaps.
@Yanni I was wondering the same (although, 5 years later). It's a little strange, but perhaps the game is on the old side. I don't know what this website was like when it came out...
I was just playing the free version of 'Hitman 2' on my recently purchased PS4 Pro the other night. XD But I'm about to purchase a bunch of games on sale digitally, and I MIGHT start 'Bloodborne' and possibly hate it. - I also want to try "The Order", at least as a showcase, but I missed it on sale and it's still like 40 Euros now... Why, Sony? - People didn't like it that much and it's almost 5 years old now. Update your pricing! (And your store, because my brand-new PS4 Pro already crashed twice using it. How does it still lag??)
Other than that, I've played some 'Paint the Town Red', 'Broforce', I might start 'Frostpunk', and try the demo-version of a game called 'The Long Reach'. - A lot of random stuff, really... This last part is all for PC, though, and I'm also going to murder my bank-account with Steam-sales, still...
I'll even purchase some PS3-games like 'Killzone HD', 'Killzone 2', the "Metal Gear HD Collection", 'Puppeteer', and perhaps some more. (Yea, I'm playing catch-up...)
I'm a little torn between getting this on the PS4 or PC, because the PC allows for a wider resolution and also using the mouse for the brush. Then again, I don't prefer the keyboard for a game like this, so it's a weird trade-off that almost evens out. I am however disappointed they indeed didn't make use of the touch-panel on the DS4, which is unfortunate and finally would've been a good use for it. Heck, then it could also have been used on the PC, which the DS4 is supported on anyway. But then there's no advantage of framerate or anything like that. Graphically it will look about the same, apart from the option to play in 21:9 for me, which could make for more interesting vistas. And I think there's some more serious anti-aliasing you can apply. But that's about it...
I just don't know, on the other hand, the PS4 seems like the appropriate platform for it.
@sinalefa PS3 is only 720p though, no?.. Would still be an upgrade if you'd play at 1080p, and also it's possible for games to look sharper being rendered at above 1080p and then being downsampled. Don't know if every game takes advantage of that, but I'm sure the PS4-version is still an upgrade on a 1080p screen.
I just tried the demo a bit and one of the things that really stood out is the soundtrack. It actually is more interesting to me than the game itself, and it almost sounds darker than what's happening on-screen at times.
But it just goes to show that playing music live, with real instruments, tends to move a person more than just going all "synthetic" (although I have nothing against synthesizers).
Something similar can be said for "The Order" as well, which has the sound of a smaller chamber orchestra as opposed to a massive "epic" sounding Hollywood-style orchestra with highly compressed percussion and so on. It just has a lot more charm and soul to it than most soundtracks, as does the soundtrack to 'MediEvil'.
Just too bad it doesn't seem to be on Spotify for easy access, but suppose this game is too recent for that and it might come later.
I'm not so sure about purchasing the game, as the game itself didn't impress me much. It's also still 20-30 Euros (depending on which version) on sale, which is a little too much for me for this type of game. It'll have to wait.
@JoeBlogs But "RE2" is exactly a re-make... done right. This MediEvil is more like a "remaster" as it tries to be too faithful with its problems intact, even though technically it's also re-made. So I agree they should've improved upon the flaws it had and just make it smoother and control better. I tried the demo and it's jerky and jumpy as all heck (while familiar from older games) and the camera is absolutely annoying. You need to "learn to deal with it", which is not something you want with any game. Also I think the control-scheme is horrible. I want to change about every button. They should've put in the option to just re-map everything or at least give you some presets. For example, I keep wanting to use R2 to strike, or perhaps Triangle to shoot daggers or whatever, but attacks are all Square and Circle. And some of the things like camera-modes and turning off the HUD could be kinda moved around on the controls as well. It's just all too wrong to be intuitive. - Oh well...
@Shepherd_Tallon I don't agree about the camera and control; They should've updated it. - I just tried the demo and it's really annoying. And no, I'm not a spoiled kid, I came from playing Wolfenstein 3d on just a keyboard in a dank attic at like 10 years old. But I'm all for upgrading old games or remakes with smoother and better controls. The movement of the camera is one thing, but the camera... I almost cursed at this kids-game... And that's just in the "short lived" demo. - And then to see occasional framerate-drops when a few basic enemies spawn?... It really puts me off from actually purchasing the full game, rather going on my "maybe" list to consider later.
Nostalgia is fine and all, but I never knew this game, so they need to capture a new audience for it too, young and old. Remakes that are too faithful are more like "remasters", because they're about the same with new graphics and audio. So I think they missed the mark with this one, although it's still a charming game.
@Churchy Or at least add to the formula, or break the formula with new stuff actually. I'm not about these slasher "Souls-like" games, so I'd like something different ANYWAY. But I think their dedication to design and so on is admirable. I mean, that's important, and that also doesn't mean it always has to stay the same. - But I'm afraid the director is a little bit of a "one trick pony" in that... this is the kind of game he makes and while people happen to like/love this one trick, that doesn't necessarily translate well into other/different games.
Just look at Kojima, another quirky nerd that happens to be able to sell his stuff to an audience, though with 'Death Stranding' balancing on a fence. Hopefully Miyazaki is a bit more open and flexible when it comes to making games for other people. Also considering something like 'The Evil Within', which I believe has someone from the original 'Resident Evil' games, it can be done, though those games are FAR apart in time and from different teams as well.
@KeanuReaves You don't think that Sony will pay a good amount of money for exclusivity? I mean, I think Epic would disagree about profitability (although I don't like what they're doing and actually hope they're hurting). And yea, it's not exactly the same thing in that case. But I think FromSoftware would do exclusivity deals as a company because it's a guaranteed amount of money (up front), rather than relying on money trickling in from different platforms over a longer time, and with that money they could finance productions like say a "Sekiro 2" after a "Bloodborne 2". - Keep in mind they do it both ways; Most of their games are multi-platform, but then you have something like 'Bloodborne'. The reason for that odd exclusivity was probably money and Sony going "We want something like Dark Souls but just for us" and then offering FromSoftware a number. Of course I don't KNOW this stuff, but that's likely and roughly how it goes.
I'm not into these games much, although I'm interested in Bloodborne as kind of a one-off or because it's an exclusive for PS4 I might go through some time (as well as "Sekiro" on PC). But I think it's very likely that like 'Bloodborne' for the PS4, a "Bloodborne 2" will exist for the PS5. - I don't think it will even be like a "cross-over" that will be both on PS4 and PS5, but it will come (or even just be announced) once the PS5 has been out for while. I have little doubt... One of the reason being exactly because it's a powerful seller of a game, especially one to give a system a push if it's exclusive.
But I wish they'd treat their games a bit better in that 'Bloodborne' never got any kind of update, apparently, to take advantage of the "Pro" or anything... It's 30fps and that's what it stays. With the only improvement, that I could find, being the prevention of framerate-drops with the system in Boost Mode. At least there's that, otherwise I might have decided against purchasing 'Bloodborne' already, as I can't stand poor performance. But as it stands now, I might become another fan... Hopefully a follow-up will bring something new to this type of game, however.
"Coming to PlayStation 4 on 1st November, Spirit of the North looks like a pleasant little indie game that we're going to keep our eye out for."
It's December 29th and there's no review or anything... Get on it! - I mean, I come here because I thought this was a good source for PlayStation-games. But then you lack the coverage... hmmm
hmm... It seems Eurogames was much more critical of the gameplay-elements and execution of them and not as easy to let the charm of the game be an excuse for it. I suppose the game is realistically more like a 6.5 or so, and should definitely be purchased only at a lower price, which I might.
@Turismo4GT Your comment was a while ago, but I agree. Well, if you purchased it in 2015, it's kind of in the middle. - It's a bit unfortunate cause the Pro came out in 2016.
Myself I've always been with PC, but also got a PS2 Slim and PS3 Slim. I never had the extra money or incentive to get a PS4, but as over the years more and more worthwhile exclusives have come out (even though there already were a bunch of good ones earlier on, just not enough), I started considering getting a PS4 anyway and started figuring what and when.
This might have taken like 2-3 years after the Pro-version game out, because it wasn't until like late 2018 or early 2019 that I decided I would go for that one, but ONLY at a significant price-drop. So it did recently go on sale around where I live, got a PS4 Pro for around 300 Dollars and I'm good with that. The only drawbacks are that I'm just late, also that some online features of some games are offline by now (but it's not a big deal apart from trophies perhaps) and the tech is still outdated.
But if it works, it works, and there are STILL nice exclusives coming out after all this time.
An obvious one would be "TLoU2", which I've blindly pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of, even before I had the system. XD (And actually, I've had 'Uncharted 4' sitting around since like 2017 or something.)
Surely they'll also do like a "remastered" version of it for the PS5 like a year or so later, just to make it run even sharper and more optimal, but I honestly don't even care anymore if the PS4 Pro can carry it well enough.
I don't know what you'll do for (later) titles like that. If you'll wait to get it on the PS5 or what, but you could have sold the 2015 PS4 and put the money towards upgrading to a Pro. But if you're happy with it, that's fine!
All I played of these Yakuza-games is a demo many years ago. I think it was Yakuza 5, if that exists. But I was really put off by how "arcade-y" it is or something. I guess the style of the game is just very Japanese, which isn't my kind of thing. So I concluded that the Yakuza-games aren't for me.
But reading the description and seeing the pictures of this one, it reminds me a LOT of 'Sleeping Dogs', in terms of the plot and characters, the kind of location, the things you can do, and even the visuals look like they're a sequel to 'Sleeping Dogs' or something. Now, I'm not saying that "SD" is all "realistic" or anything (though it had very heavy-feeling combat, yet in contrast very arcade-feeling vehicles), 'Judgment' seems to be a little more "serious" like 'Sleeping Dogs' at least, which might be more for me.
But what do things like combat feel like? Is it like those fighting-games in that they feel like it and you see the characters "freeze" on hits and they fall like they're cardboard figures and you see points pop up, or is it a little more on the "realistic arcade" side?
I'm intrigued anyway. It would be perfect for me considering the review says it's a good place to start if you've never played a Yakuza-game.
I do still feel 'Sleeping Dogs' didn't get enough credit for what it is, though. It did sell well and all, people generally liked it. But it's still somehow overlooked or at least "forgotten".
@CalizveryOwn7 It will be almost the same according to technical drawings. It will only be slightly larger/rounder, lose the lightbars, and have different technology for the rumble and such. Oh, and larger stick-tops or something... But it still isn't 100% clear.
Umm, I'm pretty sure the reason why it costs more around here, in like Europe, is because of taxes. - And yea, they do the blunt thing of... when it's 60 USD, it's 60 GBP or EUR, which yet again makes Pounds a little more than Euros even. But it's the taxes, man...
That doesn't mean I agree with how they handle it, this has always annoyed me. But for some reason they can just sell things for a lot less in the US. It's probably the market and economy there, paired with, again, the taxes around here.
And by the way, it's not just PlayStation-games; The exact same thing happens on Steam. A 60 Dollar game on Steam in the US is a 60 Euro/Pound game on Steam there. Which is also bull, but then there are loads more sales there, which I always take advantage of.
And also; I agree with going all-digital, because discs are annoying and pointless and any games after about 2008 have no business being on a disc anymore. Everything since the PS3 could've been digital-only considering how it had (and still has) a digital store.
I actually JUST got a PlayStation 4, because I never got to it and I also wanted to get it for a lower price, and I always had it in mind to make a last physical collection of the few games I wanted to get for it. - But then I suddenly changed my mind and thought it was stupid to mess around with discs just to have a collection to look at. I'll get some posters or figures if I want physical things of games to look at.
More reasons that physical copies don't make sense are the fact that part of the game is downloaded anyway, because it either doesn't fit on the disc or there is some form of update, including single-player games. So basically the data on the disc is outdated anyway (which also shows people's idea of "owning the game because you have it physically" is flawed) and makes it all convoluted.
I don't want it anymore and I kind of wish the PS5 won't have a disc-drive or will (eventually) offer a version without a drive.
Well, of course there's things like Blu-rays, and I'm still about that because streaming just doesn't deliver the same data and thus same quality. But not necessarily everyone will also use the console to watch movies, so I still think there should be a disc-less version.
Unfortunately, I chose to get the special edition sets of 'Uncharted 4' and 'The Last of Us II', so I'll have to mess around with sóme discs for the PS4. But I really wish they had already implemented a solution for that. Something like that you could use your disc to grab a digital download license that "un-requires" the disc. Even thát would be a more acceptable way to go about physical copies for the PlayStation 5. Make it so you "authorize" the digital version with the disc and then "unauthorize" the license (and effectively lose it) before you sell it. And cheating by leaving it active on your system/account shouldn't work because the next owner would find out it doesn't work on theirs. - It would probably cause a lot of issues with people trying to either just pull that trick/scam or actually forgetting it. But still, I want the option to have it all-digital just as much as some people still insist on a physical copy, even if I get put up with a physical copy when I buy some collector's edition set. I'm not going to "double dip", especially not spitting out wads of money on pre-orders.
@jdv95 I wouldn't. I've decided to go all-digital now I only JUST got a PS4, because messing around with discs just doesn't make sense anymore. - Yea, I get it, people want the option to sell it or whatever, but then be selective. We have the internet, you can see what the games are like and see what people think of them, so choose wisely. - I honestly don't want to mess around with discs anymore and it annoys me that for sóme games I háve to as I wanted the special editions of 'Uncharted 4' and 'The Last of Us II'. They should ALREADY have done something like include a code or even when they include discs, make it so that you can still just get it digitally using the disc as a license. Heck, EA/DICE even had a digital download code only for their collector's edition of 'Mirror's Edge: Catalyst' because they said they saw everything go digital in the near future. - It's not going as quickly because people are stubborn, but even as an older millennial I think it's outdated. Any games after like 2007/2008 have no business being on a disc.
@MozEmpire But a remake is not a remaster... And neither of those are ports. - Well, a remaster is KIND of a port, but a port tends to not be touched graphically. But honestly, most of the PS4-games don't exactly NEED a "remaster" and they'll likely be PORTED and perhaps have their graphical settings (that are already within the game) turned up just because the PS5 could of course handle it. There's a way more significant difference between the first FOUR PlayStations actually than there will be between the PS4 and PS5. Yes, it will be a LOT faster, but visually the only difference will be sóme graphical fidelity, such as the resolution and some effects increased, and the framerate. - Now, they are going to attempt to do 8K or whatever, but that's hilarious considering even current higher end PCs (which the PS5 will be similar to) can't even handle 4K, let alone 8K. They keep shooting themselves in the foot by being so stubborn with those ridiculously high resolutions. At least the claims of them, while they keep just scaling the resolution back and forth on the fly.
In any case... Perhaps the PS5 will run something like Death Stranding at 60fps with a higher resolution and some extra effects, but its engine, for example, is designed to run at 30fps smoothly anyway. Which makes me wonder how the heck that would translate to the PC-release for next year, but anyway...

Re: The Last of Us 2: What Difficulty Should You Select?
Re: Sony Fixes PS4 Internal Clock Battery Issue with Firmware Update 9.00
@SoulChimera - You smashed multiple PS4s?... Are you just trying to sound tough or cool or get attention something?... Cause why would you do that even at the slightest hint of "uselessness" while that's far from the truth?... Are you so hungry for destruction that you'll look for any reason to do so?... Weird.
Re: Sony Fixes PS4 Internal Clock Battery Issue with Firmware Update 9.00
@roe For some... Very few... - 10-15 years from now, people will want, have, or be trying to get a PlayStation 6 and the PS4 will be ancient. - It will not matter, no matter how hard people are trying to act like they will care about the PS4 10 or even 5 years from now. - By then, PS5s will be all over the place and you can play any significant PS4-game on it as well.
Re: Patapon 2 Remastered - Familiar Beats, But Catchy as Ever
@AdamNovice I don't understand why that would be necessary, though... Whát exactly is de-synchronizing and what is causing it? - Is it a TV-thing?... Like the latency or whatever...
On top of that, why would it not be in any other games just because this is a time/timing-based rhythm-game? - Timing certainly is critical in other games, but I never read about de-syncing issues and complaints about lack of calibration with those. - If there's actual problems, it seems like the game itself to blame.
Re: PS5 Slogan Change Actually Doesn't Give Weight to Massive Next-Gen Leak
Re: Rumour: Cyberpunk 2077 Was Delayed Because It Runs Badly on PS4 and Xbox One
Re: Rumour: Cyberpunk 2077 Was Delayed Because It Runs Badly on PS4 and Xbox One
Re: DOOM Eternal Is Pushing the PS4 Hardware to Its Limit
Re: DOOM Eternal Is Pushing the PS4 Hardware to Its Limit
Very cool (or hot, the console probably). But I don't know why one would play a game like this, especially a FAST first-person-shooter, on a console (and a gamepad). I guess people enjoy that kind of horror, but this is a PC-game, period. - You played it on your 2/3/486, your Pentiums and so on... Now you play it on your Windows 10 machine.
And yea, I know, a lot of people don't have a PC and they'll stick to their console. And it's also great that they make sure consoles get the support, but how do you even play DOOM on a console/gamepad? XD

Re: PS5 Will Have Exclusive Games You Can't Play Anywhere Else
"They will melt eyeballs..."
Re: PS5 Will Have Exclusive Games You Can't Play Anywhere Else
Re: Guide: Best Uncharted Games Ranked
Re: Review: LittleBigPlanet Karting (PlayStation 3)
Re: Guide: Ghost of Tsushima FAQ - Everything We Know So Far
It will probably be like "Batman meets Assassin's Creed". I'd buy that...
Re: Sony Reveals PS Store's Most Downloaded Games in 2019
@Kienda Peobably not.
Re: Sony Reveals PS Store's Most Downloaded Games in 2019
@Stocksy I don't know who claims that exclusives are the draw.
Re: Sony Reveals PS Store's Most Downloaded Games in 2019
What a surprise; Mostly garbage at the top.
Re: Poll: What PS5 Box Design Should Sony Adopt?
@RedMan33 If you don't want to waste, go all-digital...
Re: Poll: What PS5 Box Design Should Sony Adopt?
None! No more physical copies!
Re: Black Boxes for PS5 Games? Fanmade Art Has Us Convinced
Boxes?... It's 2020, don't be wasteful.
Re: Days Gone - Open World Comfort Food with a Survival Horror Spin

Re: Review: Sumioni: Demon Arts (PlayStation Vita)
Too bad to read it's not that good, because the art-style really drew my attention. - For people looking for something remotely similar in its stead, have a look at 'Mark of the Ninja'; The art-style is different, almost more comicbook-like, but also like a side-scroller and Japanese-inspired and all that.
But for this game... They should probably re-make it or something, improve the gameplay but use the same visual presentation and plot perhaps.
Re: Demon's Souls
@Yanni I was wondering the same (although, 5 years later). It's a little strange, but perhaps the game is on the old side. I don't know what this website was like when it came out...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 305
I was just playing the free version of 'Hitman 2' on my recently purchased PS4 Pro the other night. XD
But I'm about to purchase a bunch of games on sale digitally, and I MIGHT start 'Bloodborne' and possibly hate it.
Re: Review: Okami HD (PS4)
Re: Review: Okami HD (PS4)
@sinalefa PS3 is only 720p though, no?.. Would still be an upgrade if you'd play at 1080p, and also it's possible for games to look sharper being rendered at above 1080p and then being downsampled.
Don't know if every game takes advantage of that, but I'm sure the PS4-version is still an upgrade on a 1080p screen.
Re: Interview: Getting Our Head on Straight with the Composers of MediEvil
Re: MediEvil - A Successful Resurrection of a Flawed But Fun Adventure
@JoeBlogs But "RE2" is exactly a re-make... done right.
Re: MediEvil - A Successful Resurrection of a Flawed But Fun Adventure
Re: Souls Director Miyazaki Says Making Bloodborne 2 Isn't His Call
Re: Souls Director Miyazaki Says Making Bloodborne 2 Isn't His Call
Re: Souls Director Miyazaki Says Making Bloodborne 2 Isn't His Call
Re: Spirit of the North Gets Foxy on PS4 This November
"Coming to PlayStation 4 on 1st November, Spirit of the North looks like a pleasant little indie game that we're going to keep our eye out for."
It's December 29th and there's no review or anything... Get on it! - I mean, I come here because I thought this was a good source for PlayStation-games. But then you lack the coverage... hmmm
Re: Guide: All PS4 Pro Enhanced Games
It seems "Judgment" is missing...
Re: Review: Entwined (PlayStation 4)
Push Square: 9/10
Eurogames: 4/10
hmm... It seems Eurogames was much more critical of the gameplay-elements and execution of them and not as easy to let the charm of the game be an excuse for it.
I suppose the game is realistically more like a 6.5 or so, and should definitely be purchased only at a lower price, which I might.
Re: Guide: All PS4 Pro Enhanced Games
@RogerRoger Apparently they've improved it a lot, though.
Still, it's probably much more worth to just play "Fallen Order", as your avatar suggests.
Re: Guide: All PS4 Pro Enhanced Games

Re: Patapon 2 Marching Closer to PS4 Release As Art Hits Sony Servers
Nice... I only just got a PS4 and this was one of those smaller exclusives I wanted to play as well.
Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets Big PS4 Update that Adds a Load of Single-Player Content and Photo Mode
Back?... I have yet to play it on PC...
Just waiting for Rockstar to g.a.f.
Re: Don't Worry, This Isn't What the PS5 Controller Will Look Like
@CalizveryOwn7 It will be almost the same according to technical drawings. It will only be slightly larger/rounder, lose the lightbars, and have different technology for the rumble and such. Oh, and larger stick-tops or something... But it still isn't 100% clear.

Or you could just, like... you know... use an app on your phone...
Re: Soapbox: PS5 Must Introduce Price Parity Across Regional PSN Stores
Re: Soapbox: PS5 Must Introduce Price Parity Across Regional PSN Stores
@ThroughTheIris56 No. It's pointless.
Re: Guide: All PS5 Games Confirmed or Rumoured
Re: Guide: All PS5 Games Confirmed or Rumoured
