Re: Guide: All PS5 Games Confirmed or Rumoured

MicHaeL_MonStaR

@leucocyte Ehh, it would exactly be a lot simpler between the PS4 and PS5, because they're basically both PCs. - From PS3 to PS4 or PS5 is a lot more problematic because of the nature of the PS3, but they've still done some I think. So they can easily move games from the PS4 to the PS5.

Re: You May Not Have Seen These The Last of Us: Part 2 Screenshots Before

MicHaeL_MonStaR

@GamingFan4Lyf My guess is that when you add another task in the game, such as riding (activating) the bike or checking the map and so on, it will use more threads or cores or something and start to heat up immediately.

It seems silly for things as "simple" as those, but it also makes sense if you're activating more tasks within the game's engine. - Again, just my poor guess if I have think about it technically.

Re: You May Not Have Seen These The Last of Us: Part 2 Screenshots Before

MicHaeL_MonStaR

@themcnoisy I don't know Death Stranding too well, but it seems there's just a lot of open area in that game. I mean, it's not surprising it can keep calm in terms of processing and then with more crowded real-time scenes it need to put in a lot more work.

I'm kind of in the middle about "TLoU2". I mean, I don't know what effect the first one remastered has on the PS4 (Pro), but the sequel might be a little more demanding.
As for "CyberPunk"... I think the PS4 is going to be kinda screwed unless they significantly tone down the demand from its engine. I mean, even "Witcher 3" doesn't run that smoothly on PCs and "CyberPunk" is a good step up in terms of technology. I worry that not even a solid current PC can handle it (at least maxed out), but it's more designed for PS5 and PC-equivalents of that.

Sorry to say, but I think the latter is really much more suitable to get on PC. I might be completely wrong, also considering CDPR wants to be fair and all-inclusive for their customers. But... technology has its limitations. It might run, but with the noise.

Re: You May Not Have Seen These The Last of Us: Part 2 Screenshots Before

MicHaeL_MonStaR

@Rudy_Manchego Yea, I guess the more is going on on-screen, the worse it will have it in terms of processing. I mean, yea, the same happens on PC if you have fans that vary in speed.

But I already found the disc-noise too much with the PS3, so good thing I decided to go all-digital with the PS4 now. Just... too bad I got the disc-versions of 'Uncharted 4' and 'The Last of Us II' because of the special editions. -_-

Man, do I wish they'd just give you a code or access to "digitize" your physical copy of a game. Just... no more discs, please. Tear the ODD out of the PS5. I know it's a big debate including the ability to possess and sell a game and so on, but it just doesn't make sense anymore. - But again, at least give the option to like "activate it online" or something. I think you can even do that with PC-games that are on a disc but then you get it on Steam anyway.
Oh well...

Re: Rumour: New Crash Bandicoot Game Reveal Planned for Next Week

MicHaeL_MonStaR

I don't get the appeal of Crash Bandicoot... What's the audience that bought the last two things (the remakes and the kart game), people who grew up with Crash and got excited for the new games out of nostalgic impulses? (Which is not to say that the games are bad or anything. They're not.) Because it's hard to believe there's much of a new audience for it but perhaps kids that are easily entertained. - I mean, I grew up with a little bit of Mario, more Sonic, if we're speaking of like platform-icons. But even for Sonic I don't really "get the appeal". - It can stay in the '90s and remain a memory for all I care.

Not to crap on it, if it makes people happy, more power to the players... But when really looking at these games in this day and age... Do people really wanna go through these games?... It just seems like it's people who are stuck in the past and want nothing new. You know, like old people.
Anyway, if there would be a "Crash 4", I'd personally hope it would get a huge gameplay-update, rather than platforming and finding crates alone.

Re: Death Stranding User Score Spikes as Metacritic Removes Over 6000 Negative Ratings

MicHaeL_MonStaR

Now the score looks a lot more fair than just a FIVE... It's probably not a 9, let alone a 10, only maybe an 8. - I mean, it just seems that people like it, at least those who can appreciate the quirkiness and artistic side I suppose, but then the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired for a significant amount of people. - You can't discredit it for what it DOES do, so like 70-75% positive on this game seems fair.

Re: Rumour: Bayonetta Joins Vanquish in Remaster Double Pack, Coming February 2020

MicHaeL_MonStaR

Meh... Vanquish was a cool surprise when it came to PC, but what I really want is a remaster of Dante's Inferno. - I enjoyed it on the PS3, but it was also kinda headache-inducing considering it's not an easy game and you have to keep re-playing at that jaggy low resolution and framerate. - Well, it was pretty swift, but like many games on the PS3 (and PS2), it's one of those that should've been in 1080p at a higher framerate. (4K is b.s. by the way)

Re: Guide: Why Does PS4 Copying Update Files Take So Long?

MicHaeL_MonStaR

@WetWildWendy You can't even say that because you don't have a PS5 and it isn't out yet... There will probably be a difference because of the processing power to start with, whether it's both on the same SSD or not, but as others have pointed out the interface of the drives are different as well.

Re: WipEout Omega Collection - An Ultra Slick Update to the PlayStation Racing Icon

MicHaeL_MonStaR

I played a demo on the PS3, though, not sure if it was this or something similar. But, like a lot of these futuristic over-the-top high-speed racers, it didn't really FEEL that fast for some reason. Perhaps it would benefit from higher framerates or something, but they tend to feel so "arcade". - The games that gave me the most sense of speed were "Extreme G" and "Star Wars Podracer", but perhaps those also left more of an impression because I was way younger when I played those.

Re: Review: Gravity Rush 2 (PS4)

MicHaeL_MonStaR

The cutscenes were rendered below HD and contain visual flaws?... Why? This is not a port or remaster, this was made FOR the PS4, released AFTER the release of the Pro-version, no less.
Sounds like someone made a big mistake during development and they swept it under a rug somewhere.

Nonetheless, I might end up getting this game if I like the first enough. Sounds interesting enough in terms of its world and the visuals and perhaps also sound.

Re: Review: Patapon Remastered (PS4)

MicHaeL_MonStaR

It's unfortunate to learn that the audio isn't as good as it could or should be. I mean, it's an audio-based videogame, so it should get the best audio-mix it could have. - I really dislike badly produced audio, possibly more than questionable visuals. OK, it might not be BAD, but just OK or decent doesn't cut it. It sounds to me like the dynamics are also quite compressed then, which is also kind of critical if you have to follow the beat. It would help if you could kinda "feel" it, but when the mix is flat or dense you won't be able to. - But I'll find out what it's like anyway, it'll probably still be fun.

Re: Rumour: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Is Coming to PS5 'Sooner Than You Think'

MicHaeL_MonStaR

I honestly don't care as long as they just make another good game. - Personally, I haven't played the first one yet, but I've only just purchased a PS4, so it will come. - I'm sure it's a great game. But as for a follow-up, I hope Sony doesn't want to rush the developers for like a PS5 launch-title status, although that would be great for Sony and the system. - Perhaps something like Summer 2021 would be better for it. Then again, they could do the "double dip" thing by still having it on PS4 when the PS5 is still very new.

Re: Review: République (PS4)

MicHaeL_MonStaR

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I know your comment was years ago, but right now it's a couple bucks on Steam, so... Could go for it there if you have a half-decent PC. - It has been removed from the PlayStation Store in like 2018 and physically it costs more. Too much for what it is and its age, even.

Re: Soapbox: Days Gone Is the Biggest 180 I've Ever Done on a Video Game

MicHaeL_MonStaR

@thefirst I bet it has to do with the fact that they have to review more games than one or two and they tend to have other work to do and go home and live their lives as well. - It's not a good thing that they "halfass" it, but I could understand WHY. - At least they make note of it in or under their reviews and don't pretend like they're commenting on the entire experience a particular game has to offer. - But they (the company the reviewer works for) should probably get one or two people on that one game that takes more time to complete. - But then also, a lot of these review outlets want their articles out as early as possible to get the most clicks and all that.

If you want the most honest reviews or impressions from people, go to the ones that take their time and perhaps don't even do it for money. This article right here is an honest second look at it, so it lets people know that this particular game gets better.
There's also people who revisit games like half a year to a year later to see what has changed.
