So Glad they decided to push this back after they spent money on marketing, Had a GI cover story, Let the press have a preview and hands on event, Showed off gameplay, Launched a bunch of trailers , wrote the blogposts and had pre-orders up and ready in the stores.
I can see why you would push it back given a few things that the community has a problem with. But they should of really spoke with their marketers first before pulling this move.
thank god there's no big games to compete against in the first quarter of 2022...…. Well apart from horizon 2 and saints row, Elden ring, ghost wire Tokyo etc. They should of just canned the previous gen versions and had it as a new-generation launch title. Or sold the bugs as features like Bethesda does
So about that the last of us 2 factions and naughty dog telling us to watch this event ….
Also it would of been cool to hear what all the other teams are working on if they're willing to show a two second trailer for wolverine. Like what the heck is the days gone dudes making. Are sucker punch working on a GOT2 or Infamous reboot, What's happening with twisted metal, Is there a Alan wake 2 coming out. Etc They could of cut the ( please for the love of god buy death loop Section) for something more substantial if they're willing to give a tease for something that isn't coming out until 2023
Gun meet Foot,
They state Last year we made a commitment to deliver free upgrades for our cross-gen launch titles with Horizon being one of them then quickly say God of War and GT will be payable to upgrade, Wasn't God of War slated for a 2021 release date before they pushed it back and wasn't GT meant to be a launch title before it was pushed back to work on a ps4 version. ?
Shame you cant buy the expansion separately like the frozen wilds thing for horizon or a more direct comparison , Infamous :First Light done by the same studio behind Ghost of Tsushima.
I mean Gamescom is in august. So they could be prepping this app up for a major reveal at the Gamescom pre-show which is being fronted by Geoff Keighley.
The only good part of this years E3 was watching it like an episode of selling sunset. Glaring into peoples houses and thinking that place looks like crap, I mean Giancarlo Esposito came to the summers game fest with 7 chairs in one room. There are furniture stores with less seats than his house
I get the absence of metro and maybe dead island 2 but I'm starting to think saints row is getting like that Game of thrones joke from south park. Each year volition inc tells fans that they'll have News soon and then nothing comes. But next year we'll have some big news , Then 2021 comes and still nothing. The last i heard they were working effortlessly through the covid-19 pandemic and production was still on schedule after starting the project after the ill-faded Agents of Mayhem... That was roughly four years ago.
Ok so here's my sure as sherlock theory which actually makes sense and could very well be true.,
I think this is actually a teaser trailer for Alan Wake 2 with the overall assumption being remedy is working on a PlayStation Exclusive alongside 5 other main line titles. The idea of this being the long {abandoned} Alan Wake 2 could make sense with the games publisher themselves teasing his return in the DLC for control while Speaking more openly about the idea of a sequel in recent years and even Jeff Grubb himself mentioning the return to the franchise in a recent twitch stream.
But wait there's more,
This is where I bring up the crazier parts of my theory. The trailer itself seems very Alan wake from the female narrator to the fact that light is a consistent theme throughout the teaser alongside mentions of a cult that seems to fit the pulpy horror shlock that Alan Wake is known for. And finally in the teaser trailer ( i could be wrong, But is it just me or does that shadow at 0:38 look like he's wearing a long coat similar to the titular Charcter )
If I'm correct then that's some mighty fine journalism on my part and I'm available for any future assignments.
