Sad to read about Bungie. We should be getting excited when they are working on a new game. But that's the industry isn't it? So many of the old guard have changed so much that they are only a name these days. I mean even Rocksteady who are of a more recent generation are not the same anymore.
It's not because it's live service. It's so funny seeing people using that as a bogeyman in the comments all the time not realising some games they like are live service. It's bombing because it looks generic and has the worst cast of character designs. Nobody wants to play as unappealing characters. They want to play as cool characters.
While this is an action game it's not that difficult. I'm cruising through it and the input lag isn't noticeable at all on performance mode. The only sticky part is when I try to use an item but this has been an issue in Souls games for years. The gourd works on time which is actually an improvement on Souls games.
Every action game has its own cadence anyway and you should be adapting to each one after an hour or two.
Wasn't one of the concerns an absence of the fog? I guess that's not an issue then. I wonder if they added it after backlash or it was always going to be there?
I just hope the game isn't vanilla 'for a modern audience' and it's just quality of life/graphics improvements they were referring to. SH needs to disturb people.
I like the genre, have been playing since Demon's Souls released exclusively in Asia, though would prefer less volume but better quality Soulslikes.
Over the years I grew to enjoy the fast skill based games over Soulslikes. Your Niohs, Bayonettas, DMCs, Ninja Gaidens. Even Vanquish which is a shooter but follows a similar style.
FromSoft make fantastic games though. Not DS2, that was the b team.
Did the platinum trophy, had fun, and honestly have no desire to go back for dlc. A sequel would be cool since Eve turned out to be an interesting character. I think they should tone down on the fan service ecchi stuff and let her character shine more.
Wouldn't call this GOTY. I enjoyed RotR, SMT V, Infinite Wealth, Dragon's Dogma more. With more games to come from September on, I think this game just about cracks into the top 10 for 2024.
@Rich33 I platinumed the game and play hard action games regularly. I can say you get used to it. Would probably avoid a parry heavy style though. I think the frame rate fugs the timing. Still doable just awkward.
@DennisReynolds your comment is gold. Ubi have been doing alternative fantastical versions of history since the very first AC, but now everyone wants to be offended because Japan.
Even Japanese companies alter history. Nioh has a bunch of alterations even with Yasuke and nobody says anything. Which is good because I love Nioh.
I'm kinda happy for a weird reason. Been wanting to play an NHL game again but heard they're not great the last few years and didn't want to spend money. So I'll take it.

Re: How Long Does It Take to Find a Match in Concord on PS5, PC?
Redesign the characters so they look appealing and go f2p or do a free weekend

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Star Wars Outlaws?
Not touching it. No hate for Ubisoft but it reeks of Disney meddling.
Instead I preordered about 4 games.
Re: Not Much Space for Dino Crisis After Monster Hunter Success, Creator Says
They're nothing alike. I don't get my Dino fix from MH and I've been playing since MH2 on the PSP
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for September 2024 Announced
The baseball game is the only decent option there
Re: Forgotten PS Plus Shooter Foamstars Goes Free-to-Play in October

Re: Black Myth: Wukong (PS5) - A Spectacularly Creative Action Romp
@2here2there that's so wrong. It's full of heart.
Performance issues are not really an issue. I can perfect dodge all day.
Don't think of this as a Soulslike and certainly don't play it like that. It's not a Soulslike.
Re: Sony to Short-Change PS Stars Members with PS Plus Renewals Starting Next Year
That's pretty ruthless but I'm not going to cancel (because I'm not a child)
Re: Indiana Jones PS5 Is a Huge Game with Many Secrets to Uncover
I wish games would just be linear again. All these big maps have me fatigued.
Re: Someone At Sony Has Got to Get DeathSprint 66 on PS5
This looks cool and doesn't have any of that Fortnite art direction nonsense.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Black Myth: Wukong?
Yep I'm playing it. Not too easy not too hard.
Re: Directive 8020 Is the Next Dark Pictures Horror from Supermassive Games, Coming to PS5
Been waiting for them to do sci-fi and since this was teased in Devil in Me it's been on my must buy list.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024?
I can't vote because I didn't watch it or care or even know it was on.
Btw Black Myth Wukong is a real game after all, and it's pretty good.

Re: 'Unpolished' Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Gets Blasted, But Ubisoft Insists on August Release Date
@Specky you can't keep crying about Ubisoft. You're not achieving anything other than stinking up the comments section. Take a holiday or something.
Re: BioWare Will 'Finally' Return to Its Roots with Dragon Age: The Veilguard's Storytelling
They want to return to an era most of them were not a part of. I hope they succeed but not overly optimistic.
Re: Nexon Will Update The First Descendant's In-Game Icons Following Plagiarism Complaints
If they are going to copy D2 then copy the gunplay. Bungie are one of the best for gunplay.
Re: There's Already Concern Over Concord's Player Count as Open Beta Begins
I genuinely thought this was just another f2p shooter. I wasn't going to touch it anyway. Just like Overwatch, Valorant et al

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2024?
@BamBamBaklava89 would be weird to have a "none" option with that list of games
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2024?
14% said it's a bad selection 😂 some people love to be miserable
Re: Star Wars Outlaws Delivers Deep Dive into Its Vast PS5 Open World
@DennisReynolds nah they're not open world. Just big instanced areas for their time
Re: 6 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2024 Leaked Early
Great list. Not one bad game in there.
Re: Next Like a Dragon Title a Surprise for Fans, RGG Studio Teases
@Ryne-Gaia Rebirth actually was disappointing though. The story was butchered so badly I have no hype left for the third part.
Re: Next Like a Dragon Title a Surprise for Fans, RGG Studio Teases
@Cloud39472 it wasn't disappointing.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing The First Descendant?
@DarianStarfrog that specky guy is always in the comments dropping dumb takes. Has a real obsession with big companies.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing The First Descendant?
I won't touch a f2p game. Looter shooters can be good though. Destiny 2 rocks (though I got out years ago and won't go back).
Re: PS Stars 'Returning Soon' in Regional Rollout
Everyone will get their points. People are stressing for no reason.
Re: The Obligatory Helldivers 2 Isn't As Popular As It Was Headlines Have Started to Emerge
Coincidentally my H2 mug just arrived.
They really should have brought in the new faction instead of going back around with the bugs.

Re: Best Uncharted Games
2 is one of the best games ever made. 3 was a disappointment.
My top 3 would be:
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 4
