Hopefully whoever it is shakes up their marketing department. Having no 1st party and 2nd party roadmap is getting old. And watching them launch PSVR2 and reveal its launch titles via the blog felt like a bad joke. SIE went from reveals 6 years prior to release to now saying basically nothing. I would love to see a middle ground approach with the new leadership.
I can't imagine working your tail off for years on a game, anticipating that moment that you and your team finally get to reveal your hard work to the world, only to be snuffed out by some clout chasing parasite.
Ahh... but it was only big publishers. Those devs don't matter in this guys world.
I heard others mention eye tracking could greatly enhance throwing/aiming mechanics. For example, the game would know you're looking at that 2nd floor open window as you lob your grenade or shoot an arrow.
Could also see eye tracking benefiting accessibility and telemetry data, as developers what get data feedback on what caught players attention and what did not.
I don't doubt the review reception may of had some influence on the decision to can the sequel. But other factors (some unknown) may have also influenced the decision; for example, the sole writer and creative director, John Garvin, departed weeks after DG released. In an interview with David Jaffe, Ross suggested the team spent over a year trying to write/conceptualize the sequel (without Garvin) but it wasn't green lit.
Perhaps Sony saw Days Gone as a John Garvin game, and decided a sequel without the writer/director wasn't worth it.
@get2sammyb The blog does mention that it features foveated rendering under the blog's Visual Fidelity section:
"For a high-fidelity visual experience, PS VR2 offers 4K HDR, 110-degree field of view, and foveated rendering. With an OLED display, players can expect a display resolution of 2000×2040 per eye and smooth frame rates of 90/120Hz."
The Nintendo stuff alone makes it laughable. Some of these "leaks" these days feels like a false flags or psy ops level rumors: where a company surreptitiously "leaks" deceptive information and rumors to shift attention toward their product.
With COD, Horizon FW and DS DC getting it's announcements and trailers squared away at GC, it seems all but certain that Sony won't have an annual show this year.
Cross-play with PC also means introducing PC's cheater problem on to the console platform. There's a bliss over "open gardens" now, but when people start having aimbots ruin their new $69 mp game, I think open gardens will turn into sour grapes.
I thought it was a good showing for GamePass and the overall MS/Xbox brand. But as for XSX, it was lacking. They barely even mentioned their new consoles, and their was very little sense of "next-gen" or how these games will lean into XSX features.
Great visual and audio design. They nailed the overall aesthetics. And the production value is excellent. But the gameplay is shallow. The puzzles have never felt easier. And horror and survival elements are nonexistent. This one of most "RE for the masses" they've made yet.
I'm still holding out that someday E3 will work like PlayStation Home, a virtual 3D expo with live presentations, where players can watch, interact and participate. Time for a change E3; it ain't the 90's anymore.
It also completely belies Ryan's claim that the price hike of next-gen games are necessitated by the costs when the same next-gen game is on offer on another platform at no additional cost.
I'm wondering what's up with the reviews for this game. Not a single outlet or reviewer has confirmed (not even hinted) they are in the process of reviewing the game. Could CP2077 launch without a single review to accompany it on launch day?
It's not just the price too. We're in the final stretch with out the games media getting any hands-on, games or console. I'm not pre-ordering anything until impressions begin circulating. Jeff Keighly ain't going to cut it.
Announcing the price you're willing to pay is like playing poker with your cards facing your opponents-- or a little bit like that. That said, anything over $500 USD will create a giant sucking sound towards PC gaming.
This looks like good ol' fashion fun. Bummer Devolver didn't feel Xbox players should be included. I'm all for first-party, system seller exclusives, but this ain't either of those.
Seems odd that with 2 months until release, Ghost has nothing but a couple cinematic trailers to show for. No previews. No presentations. No deep dives. Even Death Stranding with its "what even is this game?" got a Kojima gameplay presentation 4 months before release. The marketing alone suggests a delay.

Re: Best PSVR2 Games
Solid list. Personally, I'd take Gt7 and Re8 over S&S any day. But still, all great games.

@HotGoomba VR isn’t just dead, it’s been MURDERED (and that’s okay)

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Bet on PSVR2 Is Brave and That's a Brilliant Thing
lol Sammy really summoned his inner Aldous Huxley this time around: 'I don't want comfort...I want a brave new world'
I agree.
