While I did find the combat a bit dull and repetitive during the final act, imo it should be way higher on the list.
Clive as a character really is a treat though, best voice acting I've possible seen for a video game

Yeah it's a great series and you can make your way into the larger SMT universe if you're looking for a harder challenge at some point too.

the anime series itself is based on a VN of the same name

like any VN it has multiple routes, this is why there's so many anime adaptations floating around.

However Samurai remnant here is set in Edo Period
meaning this is entirely a different timeline itself, this means you can jump in with no problems really.
